@wolfmotha77 we also had a kind of cash for clunkcers program ... but the dealerships were allowed to resell the turned in cars so that was even more fun big engine american cars came for almost free
the goverment wants everybody to drive a small fuel efficient car , so small cars don't have to pay road tax
(road tax is 100$usd a month for a jeep ) hummer aint very populair here ...road tax is rated by weight and feul efficiency .....
@wolfmotha77 actually i don't like the new one , it lost all of its tough looks and features .
and personally i don't like fiat's influence in the design and technics
if i have to choose a new car it probably will be a ford , but here in the netherlands its very hard to find v8 cars (due to high fuel prices 195 $ usd for a full tank ) especially ford v8s are hard to find , so ill keep driving my grand cherokee and i'm happy with that
NV249 is a better transfercase then the 242.. 242 is only good for some serious offroading. Other then that the 249 is better in snow, sand, dirt, pebbles and stuff like that. Plus the NV242 is a weak case, chains stretch easily on the V8's. The NV249 is a much stronger transfercase, the only downside is the viscous coupler which goes bad after 100k miles. But that part is easy to replace.
The VC here in the USA is $300. They have them on ebay brand new ones check it out. Not sure what year your Jeep is, because they had 2 different kinds of Vc's. One for the 93-95 and one for the 96-98.. Also the 96-98 249's are the better ones because the center differential in the case locks, the older ones are open. The 93-95 is just called NV249 has torque strength of 1800lbs. The 96-98 is the NV249 On demand and has a strength of 2030lbs. The NV242 is only 1480.
@1ownjoo2 thanx i''ll check that out , my jeep is a 97 5.2 model i'm gonna make a walkaround vid just like you did . my jeep has a bullbar , high beam lights an a winch now sice i bought it .

@wolfmotha77 yep that's wwhat we pay for a full tank of gas ......... we are used to it ...
you can imagine v8 cars aint worth a dollar here .... you can buy a road legal jeep for as little as 500$usd
everybody over here dives 1.1 cars and 1.2 tdi diesel cars (even diesel prices are skyhigh )
i drive a brand new ford transit van as a daily car and only drive the jeep for fun

what 4x4 system, quadra trac, select trac, or command trac?
Erhorn300 1 year ago
@Erhorn300 this is a quadra trac model , perfect car only the visco part in the transfercase sucks big time ! (visco stays locked up )
i'm gonna swap the nv 249 tc for a much better nv 242 (which also offers 2wd)
