i hate online edition ost of street fighter 3 third strike. good thing i downloaded the orginal soundtracks like nyc jazzy(orginal), hugo's theme(orginal) ryu's theme(orginal) and yun and yang's theme(orginal). i don't like this shit of online edition as much as you do. they should really hire you for the music
Dj Kairu....i see where your coming from and the differance shows between your works and their's....sorry but capcom needs to take lessons from you . you basically need to make some money by sending in your tracks to capcom for upcoming games cause your tracks pretty much blows that crap they have out of the water
but you do capcom justice
your still good composer like reu's music and DJ-Max-E
Dj Kairu....i see where your coming from and the differance shows between your works and their's....sorry but capcom needs to take lessons from you . you basically need to make some money by sending in your tracks to capcom for upcoming games cause your tracks pretty much blows that crap they have out of the water
Speaking as someone who's never had 3rd Strike and first heard the OST recently, I'm not necessarily outraged, but I'm far from impressed either. It sounds like this guy was trying to channel Fukasawa with the techno remixing but it mostly just came off as a medley of hollow imitations. "You Blow My Mind" in particular lacked all hint of soul, and the fact that he literally didn't even *try* for "Psyche Out" was pure laziness.
In conclusion, Kariu. Simon Viklund is the name of the fuck nigga.
Damn they really killed the Jazzy NYC track on 3rd strike online... but not in a good way. I heard the soundtrack and wasn't impressed they even butchered my personal faves "Killing Moon", "Twilight" and "Beats in my head" and don't get me started on Dudley's theme it was NOT a stupid dope mix.
That composer Simon Viklund remix that shitty music of SF3 Third Strike Online Edition Soundtrack. Yeah he deserved to be slapped in the face for that disappointment remix of Jazzy NYC, and the others music.
Well your right it is a good thing that you can change it to the original. I mean I dont hate the soundtrack entirely , I feel that its just opinion how the player feels they should leave it on.
eh thing is, The dude only used the techno aspect of the tracks. The main genres in the game is techno, jazz, and hip hop. Dude kinda just ignored the other two.
you know, I was gonna make a comment about how wrong you were about the OST, and how I think theres nothing wrong with it (bar one or two tracks) but I actually wanted to say that you're a pretty funny guy. I find the pissed off, black guy, attitude quite hilarious to watch "Get this shit off my damn computer..." "I oughta smack you in the..." funny dude, I like it.
Dawg, I've heard better Jazzy NYC's from you and other producers out there. U right, the one you looked up didn't have that "sound-flava"; that something to groove to when listenin to or fightin. Necro's theme? I could've cried!! As a part time DJ myself, I would NEVER fuck up something that good!! The original Snowland Track from Capcom and your remix were DA BOMB!
All I can say is, keep doin what'chu do. The bad one's ain't got what'chu got.
Hay Kairu I agree with this video on levels I can't even explain. The original OST for 3s was just so fuckin amazing and yet this new nigga somehow came about and fucked it all up. Fuckin tragic man. I got a question for you though. Alpha 3 was my first sf game and its still my favorite to this day. Thus I kinda grew up on that OST. Whats your thoughts on it?
lol'd @ comments. Most of them are 'soundtrack sucks except for xxxxx'
The tracks are different, most of them aren't bad. A lot of people are hating them because they aren't traditionally close to the originals. I reminded a particular group that they all well meet the criteria for a remix and aren't 'arrangements', like many are used to hearing.
So, different arrangements using the same type of music converter NES systems used for modern day systems that sound like ass aren't bad? The thing about remixes is this; they may be arranged differently, but they're supposed to be the same song in context. The soundtrack (Minus Knock You Out and Longshoreman's remix) is terrible, simply because, like Kairu said, it's been done over and over for these games, yet how do older sounds beat these modern day tracks?
@NewZen41 I don't really get your first question unless you're talking about GXSCC, which is not NES emulation, (though it's used for most nes remixes on youtube) because most people making authentic NSFs are pretty good at it, since it's an archaic method. But, like I said, all of the older versions are traditional, people are going to favor that style because the series has been attributed to it. It would have been nice for the style to have continued, but lack of doesn't mean the songs suck.
Amen brother, I mean wtf, doesnt Capcom have ears? Dude seriously why you or Maxie have not have Capcom begging you guys to be the head of their music department is insane. Your right Kariu, I find myself switching back to the old tracks. I will say this the intro and the character select is okay, but other than that its garbage.
.....I just listened to it...........My GOD! What have they done?! i loved that ST.......they destroyed it......Couldn't they have called you or something and say "Hey we need a remix for the new Street Fighter OST" NO! If they messe Jazzy NYC '99 up......i can't bear to hear the rest. They probably jacked up Ibuki's too
Hey, hey, hey!! Dont knock the new tracks yet cuz I have a question...have you guys listened to the round 2 version of the remixed songs? If so tell me where i can listen to 'em cuz i have only heard 2 stages and seans/oros stage was pretty decent.
Yeah Kariu I know what you mean. Personally, I can see how some of the remixes a nice but get very repetitive very quickly. Whoever did that could have easily made it better if the just did transitions like it's predecessor. You, MaxieDaMan and Jehulu could've create circles around this current mix thats out now. You have like what Three Jazzy NYC's out already?
Remixes are usually shit besides the stuff I hear from your channel, I actually like it. All I want is an option to put 2nd Impact music over 3rd Strike's music. Not that I don't like 3rd Strike's music but I just think 2nd Impact is way better. Some other remixes I like are some KOF and Alpha stuff too.
I actually don't mind most of the tracks. Dudley's sounds like crap but I really love Q's and Elena's and Jazzy NYC is another of my likes. But I'll agree with you on Necro's as well. I still enjoyed the video though and think Capcom should have done what they did with HD Remix and used tracks from OC Remix.
what pissed me off the most about 3rd strike online was Jazzy NVC, that made me so mad and the remix of Necro's stage irritated me too, just "guttertrash" -_-
some songs are DESCENT, but i listened to most of them and said, nah, imma put the original one back on lol, i only liked Ibuki's and i liked Akuma's somewhat, out of the whole remixes, those interested me in some way haha
The composer prolly isn't even from Capcom....sounds like some summer intern at Microsoft made this shit on his last day of work (all checked the fuck out)....lol (G-tag= SKOTCH KOREAN)
So. I listened to these new tracks, started with their "Jazzy NYC" (If you can call it that.) and from then on, it turned from tears of pain to full on bawling. Ok I didn't cry but I kinda felt like I was in some sort of musical butcher shop.
Hey, Kairu. I feel your pain man. If you haven't heard yet, the guy who did it is Simon Viklund. He was chosen to remix the game because he remixed bionic commando, which was successful. Personally, i think this guy is an okay artist considering that he was able to remix Bionic commando pretty well, but I dont think SF3 is right for him. it should have been you. Obviously would have had more passion remixing the tracks, and personally, I think your style would have worked well with 3rd strike.
Ima going to be real the Necro, Alex/Ken, and Dudly stages are the only ones I really had a problem with. I thought Elena's ,Ryu's, Yun/Yang, and Sean/Oro stages sounded better or just as good. That's just my opinion anyways.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I love how people whine and cry so much about something completely optional. Just ignore the remixes! The original arranged music is all there! Fucking retard.
@AdeyAdey Get yo dumb ass off my page with that shit. if u aint with it then dont comment you couldve wasted life lookin at another fucking video. i think the retard is the nigga you see when you lookin in the mirror. stupid ass
Capcom seems to be on a roll these days. First Resident Evil 5, Lost Planet 2, cancelling 2 Megaman games, releasing another half ass "expansions" for SSF4 and MvC3 and now rapping the shit out of the SF3 music giving the green light to these weak ass remixes. Everything Capcom seems to touch turns into shit x.x
From now on i'm goin' to listen Kariu's remixes everytime i play 3rd Strike Online Edition and pretend that Capcom didn't raped and murdered one of the best soundtracks i ever heard...Sigh
I gotta admit, I saw the title of the video, and I see you shake your head and I just started laughing. Yeah, the music's not so hot, I was disappointed too. I like the main theme though, I'm a fan of Adam Tensta. They fucked up the tone on Jazzy NYC bad.
Though also, 3rd Strike Online is almost completely produced by americans. So whoever composed it is in america.
After listening to it over and over again, I'm starting to warm up to it, though jazzy nyc still makes me shudder. I just find it funny that when third strike first came out people didn't love the soundtrack at first, but now its arguably considered the best soundtrack for a fighting game. I don't think the same will happen to that extent, but i think ,given time, people will warm up to it.
lost all respect for capcom...i dont kno if they have gout, huffing cociane, but they really getting me to the point of not buying anything until they get they head straight. All their games lately soundtracks have been horrible and game been sub par at best.
I just listened to some of the track...I take back what I said.Your music is not better,....it outclasses Simon Viklund, and Adam Tensta. As a matter of fact, I probly could have done better my damn self.
I havent heard the new soundtrack but I really dont need to because I know Capcom has a nack for upsetting fans.I agree with you, your music is definately than what I just heard. All I can say in Capcom's defense is unlike other companies, again, Capcom actually listens to their fans......(I gaurantee you this will happen again)
I was hyped for this game but since the ost sucks now but hope there the real ost or the arranged from the dreamcast in the game i wont listen to this dumb remixed mix
As stand alone tracks that were inspired by the original (arranged) third strike OST, they're alright and some of them are enjoyable to some extent. But as a replacement of the original, it just fails. The original atmosphere that gives me the feeling of awesomes when I play sf3ts is gone with this new OST. It's like the entire sf3 cast became fans of the new style music of 2011 which doesn't work well. I wanna be stuck in 1999. Play us the ultimate JNYC, Kariu.
Agreed 100%; the "good" ones were those were the style of the track was kept the same and it could truly be called a remix; the "good direction" ones started good as a new direction but just went NOWHERE after that; the "decent" ones were really just given a more personally-fitting skin but that's all (i.e. just a short loop or no real remixing done), and the "horrible" ranges from fruity loops to dubstep.
@kyubihanyou It's not that the good directions went "nowhere". It's just the composer had good concepts, but elements were missing in the song (Makoto's main melody, African percussion in Elena's). If the composer included it, the songs would have been much better.
@sketcha09 And technically, the "arranged version" from Street Fighter Collection was a short loop as well. Just 3 short loops (A loop for each round).
I just listened to it. Man I have to agree, what was Capcom thinking. At least they were smart enough to keep the original soundtrack in there, but that was traumatic. Capcom is losing it man. When you can't even get music right, it's time to start hiring some new help man, seriously. I will say there was a few alright tracks, otherwise most of them were crap.
Capcom should have just ported this game to PSN and XBL without messing up soundtrack. The only thing that made this game Great was the soundtrack and the Parry System.*SIGH* I guess I should return to playing SSF4 AE now that 3rd strike is only half as enjoyable now.
And also, I realize that it's not really the full themes, meaning that I only recorded from the game directly. What I did can be considered the unofficial OST, so if the official one gets released, then people will have different opinions about it when they hear it in full.
I'm sorry I brought lots of haters to the new soundtrack, and I respect your words, Kariu.
Hey, uploader of the OST here, and I think people want to hear my opinion of the OST. Honestly, I cringed a little, even when I recorded it. However, I did like a few tracks, and even if I didn't, you can switch to have the original tracks.
@SerenityWind i appreciate the fact that you uploaded it before it came out because i was anxious to hear the soundtrack. had you not i wouldnt know how bad the music was so it enlighteneed me. and dont worry. im not hating on you for doing your part. but i aint messing with that soundtrack. not at all. shit was weak as hell
Nah, don't worry, you spoke the truth, and that's what matters. Besides, because of the fact I uploaded the OST, lots of people who are famous (you and lancecryor, for example) have voiced their opinions on it. Now I can come to a consensus, too. I don't like the soundtrack either.
Amen that you can select the regular soundtrack instead of the shitty arranged one. I couldn't even listen to the 1st 20 seconds of the remixed garbage.
Im bout to show these niggas how its done im making my last JNYC remix ever. yall might want to see this next mix i put up. im pushing this song to the limit. i started the JNYC trend now its time to send alex and ken off with a bang. im done letting capcom screw these tracks up thumbs up if you wanna hear this next piece
Yo. I cried. masturbated. cried again. banged my girlfriend while crying. The remix option for 3rdSO sucks balls. WTF Kariu. Why arent you working for CAPCOM? Maybe they need to buy out some of those NAMCO producers
You're a good composer, why didn't you apply to remix the soundtrack? Also, the reason why it's garbage is because a lot of the Japanese composers have have been practicing music their entire lives, but today, all you need is to learn how to use a studio program, and perhaps a college certification in music; leaving the possibility of a skill gap in video game composition.
@ephoenix7 the issue with kariu, maxie, and the other dudes they didnt promote their mixes enough. if they were at fighting tournaments demoing their music it would have been in the game. The art in the game is from fans you know.
mah boi you know what pisses me off the most, Yun dat op mo fucker actually has a good track but they destroy godlike themes like dudleys and ken.... I raged...
I went 2 street fighter 3 strike on line and their tracks is a piece of shit 2 be honest. kariu u can do the better soundtrack then that piece of shit DJ Kariu u got my support.
In the words of Danny McBride's character in Your Highness, "Fucketh That"!! I refuse to buy this case of the butchering of the OST. Besides, I got the SF Anniversary Collection on PS2 so im good ppl lol
The only Soundtracks that sound alright were Hugo, Sean/Oro and Elena's and that's not really saying much. How the hell they screw Jazzy Nyc, Snowland, Twilight and Crazy Chili Dog?! I'm just happy about that option for the original
i agree 1000% its like capcom put the songs in a pile of shit , mixed it together and this was the result i miss old capcom really everything yoshinoro ono did was fucking street fighter up in my opinion.
They dun fucked up the best OST in a fighting game ever...
The original had beautiful fusion tracks that added to the characters personality and the heat of the fight, and now we get this watered down Katy Perry style shit...?
@FusionAJ93 is that suppose to be an comparison? Of course the Music in those games are better that that why the random compare to that. It should SFIV and MvC3 sound better which they do
if you all are seriously pissed at the composer let him know on his twitter page cause right he now he thinks that everything is good and that everyone likes the soundtrack since I can't post links his name is: simonviklund just copy and paste the name on twitter and your good to go
Only Hugo, Remy, and Ibuki have good themes, the rest is very poor compared to the originals all the jazz themes have some terrible eletro synthethiser. They pretty much used one genre for all the songs and ruined the feel of the music.
The worst shit is when people call us fanboys or nostalgiafags and shit when we say we don't like the tracks. It's nice to see someone who actually knows what a GOOD remix is put these tracks on blast. A remix is a reimagining, it doesn't need to sound like the original song, but that doesn't mean it has to be garbage like what they have.
Although admittedly I do like what they did with Hugo and Akuma's themes.
Maaaaan. I wanted to die when I heard that Not-so-Jazzy NYC remix. I'd rather simultaneously drink hydrochloric acid and t-bag a bear trap than to listen to those remixes. The only thing I can say is THANK GOD THEY WILL HAVE DLC. I gotta contact Capcom and try to get them to ask you to do these remixes. I don't know who this guy who did these remixes is, nor have I heard any of his works. Regardless, he was clearly not the man for the job here. Capcom needs to step their music game up.
I agree completely. They got artgerm to do the art and he did a decent job why not give the remixes to someone who knows his thing for example you Kariu.
All the theme remixes just sound so dull, parts of the songs are just gone. Most of the themes sound so repetitive.
I am as dissappointed as you. What I felt the first time I heard the soundtrack (specially the Arranged one) is undescriptible, it was YEARS ago and I still listen to this marvelous OST. But after searching for all the new versions... maaaaaaaaayun. I guess that's what the faggot children listen today, but instead of doing justice to the original themes they went the easy way...
Glad to know you can switch to the old ones, at least Capcom knew that would be a big mistake not to put that in.
I'm in the same boat w/ you.I love the 3rd Strike OST and the 1st song I heard Jazzy NYC like you did aswell, hell i was even more mad when they fucked Beats in my Head honestly how in the living hell do you fuck that up?
on the plus side...Makoto and Hugo's theme are ok IMO. But the original still blow the OE remix's out the damn water. I have been listening to VG music for years and still going (although I get taunted for it, but i could care less) but I was seriously disappoint w/ this.
for realz, you should be gettin paid by capcom

I heard the remixes. Most of them are pretty bad, but Elena's is delightfully silly and playful, just like the character. I like that one.

Everything Capcom seems to touch turns into shit x.x

this is why you guys should have been more persistent with capcom, your music would have been in the game.

Snowland now sounds like something out of Mega man... (Mega Man X to be a bit more exact...)
But seriously though, I don't get it, I just don't. Who's genius idea was it to give it the "ok" on that remixed soundtrack...

wow he did fuck that soundtrack up

From now on i'm goin' to listen Kariu's remixes everytime i play 3rd Strike Online Edition and pretend that Capcom didn't raped and murdered one of the best soundtracks i ever heard...Sigh
WilkenKear 6 months ago
I gotta admit, I saw the title of the video, and I see you shake your head and I just started laughing. Yeah, the music's not so hot, I was disappointed too. I like the main theme though, I'm a fan of Adam Tensta. They fucked up the tone on Jazzy NYC bad.
Though also, 3rd Strike Online is almost completely produced by americans. So whoever composed it is in america.
Kelohmello 6 months ago
After listening to it over and over again, I'm starting to warm up to it, though jazzy nyc still makes me shudder. I just find it funny that when third strike first came out people didn't love the soundtrack at first, but now its arguably considered the best soundtrack for a fighting game. I don't think the same will happen to that extent, but i think ,given time, people will warm up to it.

lost all respect for capcom...i dont kno if they have gout, huffing cociane, but they really getting me to the point of not buying anything until they get they head straight. All their games lately soundtracks have been horrible and game been sub par at best.

DeathScytheAkuma 6 months ago
I enjoy the new JNYC99 tbh but then again I never really played much 3rd strike but Ill agree Necros sucks compared to his old one
zoltanben90 6 months ago
i hate all the remixes in the online edition capcom messed it up big time man im sticking to the 99 original soundtrack.

Raiden3651 6 months ago
I was hyped for this game but since the ost sucks now but hope there the real ost or the arranged from the dreamcast in the game i wont listen to this dumb remixed mix
CADPunk3393 6 months ago
that soundtrack was so bad, it made me turn off my 360 and run back to my dreamcast.
SegaGuy7 6 months ago
As stand alone tracks that were inspired by the original (arranged) third strike OST, they're alright and some of them are enjoyable to some extent. But as a replacement of the original, it just fails. The original atmosphere that gives me the feeling of awesomes when I play sf3ts is gone with this new OST. It's like the entire sf3 cast became fans of the new style music of 2011 which doesn't work well. I wanna be stuck in 1999. Play us the ultimate JNYC, Kariu.
ginkumo12 6 months ago
Capcom peeked with Third strike
Skybaby79 6 months ago
My opinions:
Good ones-Ibuki, Hugo, Remy (Remy's original never stuck out to me)
Good directions, but VERY UNFINISHED-Elena's, Dudley's, Makoto's, Urien/Twelve, Gouki
Decent-Oro/Sean, Yun/Yang, Urien
Horrible=Alex/Ken, Chun-Li, Q, Ryu
sketcha09 6 months ago 2
@sketcha09
Agreed 100%; the "good" ones were those were the style of the track was kept the same and it could truly be called a remix; the "good direction" ones started good as a new direction but just went NOWHERE after that; the "decent" ones were really just given a more personally-fitting skin but that's all (i.e. just a short loop or no real remixing done), and the "horrible" ranges from fruity loops to dubstep.
kyubihanyou 6 months ago
@kyubihanyou It's not that the good directions went "nowhere". It's just the composer had good concepts, but elements were missing in the song (Makoto's main melody, African percussion in Elena's). If the composer included it, the songs would have been much better.
sketcha09 6 months ago
@sketcha09 And technically, the "arranged version" from Street Fighter Collection was a short loop as well. Just 3 short loops (A loop for each round).
sketcha09 6 months ago
Simon Viklund. Just the name is proof alone. Nigga? I think not, Kariu.
sketcha09 6 months ago
I wanna do the polka to the new jazzy nyc remix. Then kill myself.

VesperTheSnake 6 months ago
I just listened to it. Man I have to agree, what was Capcom thinking. At least they were smart enough to keep the original soundtrack in there, but that was traumatic. Capcom is losing it man. When you can't even get music right, it's time to start hiring some new help man, seriously. I will say there was a few alright tracks, otherwise most of them were crap.
REvamp91590 6 months ago
Capcom should have just ported this game to PSN and XBL without messing up soundtrack. The only thing that made this game Great was the soundtrack and the Parry System.*SIGH* I guess I should return to playing SSF4 AE now that 3rd strike is only half as enjoyable now.
WerdyA 6 months ago
you woulda RIPPED this album apart man, what a shame !
SonicJaguar57 6 months ago
And also, I realize that it's not really the full themes, meaning that I only recorded from the game directly. What I did can be considered the unofficial OST, so if the official one gets released, then people will have different opinions about it when they hear it in full.
I'm sorry I brought lots of haters to the new soundtrack, and I respect your words, Kariu.
SerenityWind 6 months ago
Hey, uploader of the OST here, and I think people want to hear my opinion of the OST. Honestly, I cringed a little, even when I recorded it. However, I did like a few tracks, and even if I didn't, you can switch to have the original tracks.
Anyway, that's my two cents, so peace out.
SerenityWind 6 months ago 6
@SerenityWind i appreciate the fact that you uploaded it before it came out because i was anxious to hear the soundtrack. had you not i wouldnt know how bad the music was so it enlighteneed me. and dont worry. im not hating on you for doing your part. but i aint messing with that soundtrack. not at all. shit was weak as hell
Kariu 6 months ago 7
@Kariu
Nah, don't worry, you spoke the truth, and that's what matters. Besides, because of the fact I uploaded the OST, lots of people who are famous (you and lancecryor, for example) have voiced their opinions on it. Now I can come to a consensus, too. I don't like the soundtrack either.
SerenityWind 6 months ago
i wish for the 3rd strike online soundtrack was a blend of your songs and djmaxie songs that would be awsome
burryXmeXplease 6 months ago
The only good remixes that I can recommend from that game is Twilight, The Longshoreman, and The Circuit.
Killing Moon and Crowded Street sounds somewhat ok, but everything else just sounds like crap.

MarkIsNoHero 6 months ago
You're a good composer, why didn't you apply to remix the soundtrack? Also, the reason why it's garbage is because a lot of the Japanese composers have have been practicing music their entire lives, but today, all you need is to learn how to use a studio program, and perhaps a college certification in music; leaving the possibility of a skill gap in video game composition.
ephoenix7 6 months ago
@ephoenix7 the issue with kariu, maxie, and the other dudes they didnt promote their mixes enough. if they were at fighting tournaments demoing their music it would have been in the game. The art in the game is from fans you know.

THANK. YOU.
TheNotoriousMC2 6 months ago
Capcom needs to step their music game up.
omegasinnocence 6 months ago
Elena's, Remy's and Dudley's were the only decent tracks I listened to. As for the rest of the OST, yeah they butchered it.
Shinatsu 6 months ago
Capcom should bring 2nd Impact out afterwards and hire you to do the tracks. Like your Sean stage theme.
Namel3ssTyranto 6 months ago
I agree completely. They got artgerm to do the art and he did a decent job why not give the remixes to someone who knows his thing for example you Kariu.
All the theme remixes just sound so dull, parts of the songs are just gone. Most of the themes sound so repetitive.
Paakli 6 months ago

OH GOD lol.
Who the hell did they choose for the music lol.

Glad to know you can switch to the old ones, at least Capcom knew that would be a big mistake not to put that in.

on the plus side...Makoto and Hugo's theme are ok IMO. But the original still blow the OE remix's out the damn water. I have been listening to VG music for years and still going (although I get taunted for it, but i could care less) but I was seriously disappoint w/ this.
