So much in fact, I was questioning what the song was over the premise of the commercial (I never saw the original Willy Wonka) I thought it was one of those "feel good" type songs from the 60's when music was really good! :)

@BloodOlive This song (titled "Pure Imagination") was sung by Gene WIlder (Willy Wonka) specifically for the movie, as it was not in Ronald Dahl's original "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" book. However, not sure if Wilder actually wrote it. Great lyrics tho!

In this case, I feel that the production company Anonymous Content has lifted its concept for a NATIONAL REBRANDING CAMPAIGN for AT&T from Edmond Hawkin's video "Spare Time". I feel that they owe Edmond acknowledgement for his influence on their commercial.

Total ripoff of this artists style. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers for that commercial saw Hawkins video featured on the vimeos front page and used the idea. @timmster I posted this immediately after seeing this commercial, which was at the peak of my frustration (i'll admit), but I definitely wanted to get a conversation like this going. I personally haven't seen a liveaction/animation combo that has crudely drawn characters that has the cut out process exposed like both of these films do (also i find it uncanny that fish leap out of the ground in both shorts). It'd be great to see examples of what you're talking about.

@timmster Beyond that I recognize there's a gray area for being able to claim ownership over ideas but the creative community I work in at least acknowledges people who may have influenced their projects. my film was on the front page of vimeo this year which i think is how they saw my film. If it's a coincidence, i can accept that, but the probability of it being the former is just greater in my opinion. but again I posted to get others insight- thanks for the comment
