I saw this in the movies. slayer was hands down best performance there. metallica is overrated but i dont mean that in a bad way. i like metallica but i think that they were pretty crap at this concert. they shouldn't have been the last performance because in my opinion the big 4 should have ended with a bang, and honestly.....and i hate myself for saying this.....but metallica has gone pretty soft, playing like fade to black and nothing else matters.......where has their heaviness gone!
They played Creeping Death, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Harvester of Sorrow, That Was Just Your Life, Cyanide, Sad But True, All Nightmare Long, Master of Puppets, Blackened, Enter Sandman, Hit the Lights and Seek and Destroy at this concert, all of these HEAVY as fuck. The thing is, they cut them off. Metallica played 2 hour set but was cut down to one hour for this concert and only left them the "usual" and most populars songs on there. That's why you think they went soft.
@thebogeymaniscoming in the movies they did play a 2 hour gig and i saw the whole thing. i just think they wasted too much of their time building suspense with their shitty extremely long build ups to even worse songs, but i have to admit master of puppets was AWESOME........but i just hate the fact that james looks like a frail old man

Check out some fan shot footage man, they sound really strong and powerful. Hell, even Anthrax sounded weak coming straight up from the PA. You couldn't even hear the damn drums or the bass at all as they were drowned out by guitars and vocals. All of it was horribly mixed and I've been watching stuff that fans shot and each band sounds 8x stronger and mightier than they did on the broadcast.

Although Load-ReLoad & St. Anger were questionable, Death Magnetic kicked fuckin' ass. Play My Apocalypse or TWJYL going 110 mph on the road and you'll see what I mean.
