hey, i'm just wondering: what's the shot clock in bowling? there doesn't seem to be a penalty either, for a "shot clock violation". what is it for? thanks

It's 25 seconds from when the bowlers gets up from his seat to start on the approach, I believe. If you don't release the ball by the 25 seconds, the first fine is $100. If a second occurrence occurs, it's $500 each time after that. i.e. Sean Rash in the 2008 World Championships.
