@misteraxl1 No they weren't. In Vietnam, the South Korean army helped us. Also, before the French bailed,they helped us. Ohh and in Panama, The UN backed us up.The UN actually helped us in Somalia. Also, Panama and Somalia weren't really wars. They were small conflicts to take someone bad out of power. Just like now, America and her allies are currently doing Pirate patrols all over the world in hotspots.

Americans need to be prepared, support their state's citizen militia, and also support the Continental Congress... because politics, like nature, abhors a vacuum. The Continental Congress would provide a transition back to constitutional government in the event that federal tyranny makes taking up arms a necessity and a reality. At any given time there are so many combat vets out there out of the military now not to mention cops and national guardsmen and hunters you would have gorilla units all over the country spring up over night . Not to mention canada would jump to help us out, oceans on two sides and the right to baer arms ! Yep I think we are pretty safe from other militaries.
If I were any of you I would worry more about our own current government !

Great movie -- but, we do not have to worry about an outside enemy. We do a pretty good job of allowing ourselves to be enslaved by out own servant. Our real enemy is much closer at hand, than China or Russia.

@Bootnknife China holds about $800B in US debt -- this is down from about $1.6T a few months ago. China will not be taking on any additional US debt in the near future and will probably further divest themselves of our debt as soon as they can. If China did come, it would be under the auspices of the UN to "maintain order". I would suspect that if that occurred there would be more than just Chinese troops here. But, either way -- our country is in for some seriously rough times.

Um, prepared for what? No one's going to invade the US any time in the foreseeable future. Any of this country's enemies knows damn well the price of invasion and occupation would not be worth it-- easier to use nukes and/or fight proxy wars overseas. Don't get me wrong, I love Red Dawn, great movie, but the premise was unrealistic as fuck (yeah, I know it was based on a War College scenario, but it was still an unlikely scenario).

Our enemies have no bases on this side of the world so basically we would see them coming from a mile away therefore there's no element of surprise on their part. We have bases all over the world which is why we can invade any country we wanted to. As far as nukes go, it is highly unlikely that we, or any one else will ever use them in war simply because it would be committing virtual suicide. Only use would likely be from an Islamic suicide bomber.
