yea but thats whats fun about wow too, you get to create your characters story as you go, and incorporotate it with the overlaying setting of warcraft. i personally think that LOTRO has a better background, but WoW has its good moments too.

I played the Lotro free trial but i didnt really get to see what the game is like due to the ridiculous two week download. I didnt even make it out of the first area you get to. Is it worth getting instead of something like WoW or another mmo? Like WAR for instance?

isn't an action placed pack. It's more like a soloer's paradise, 1 or 2 fellow quests. It's mostly fetch/deliver/collect quests.

Have you signed up for the Moria beta yet? I'd like to see how they handled Moria, because if I do not get an e-mail confirming my participation in the beta, I'll be resubbing.

Renting horses would be nice, 25 silver per hour of free use. Every hour a window pops up to alert you that you are about to pay another 25 silver for your horse. You can either press don't pay or Pay. If you don't pay, the horse vanishes from your inventory and you must visit another stable to get it back.

It should be available at level 20.

Anyway, don't come into the Shire looking for excitement, I'm pretty sure you must have read the books/saw the movies and you know the shire isn't

You should try a review at the end game when Moria comes out.

Most of the things you stated were what most of the trial players stated too.

If you played longer, you would understand why horses are at 35. I was just normally questing and selling drops and ended up with 4G at level 35, the level you can buy a horse. If you moved it down to 30, the prices would have to be dropped.

The best part of the game is the money sinks, because no one is running around with too much money, it's good!

Lotro is based in the northern middle earth (shire, Bree, Angmar) So if Mordor's army was there, then that means Gondor, Rohan and all the other places were destroyed by Sauron. And Lotro is mostly a PVE, that's the fun part the PVP is just to make it funner.

you should watch some of the interviews with the people working on the game. they said they wanted it to begin with just Eriador(the shire/Bree/Misty Mountains/Rivendell).New content will come out in the form of expansions/patches until it reaches Mordor. So Rohan,Gondor,Mordor, ect.. with all be in the game, but not yet. They did that to help you follow the story of the ring-bearer, and the lvl cap will go up with the expansion of territories.

Im sorry but having played Wow for way too long - there isn't really a story at all ! Defintely no follow on from the storyline of the previous Warcraft games. I mean maybe as you get into Outlands a couple of quests relate to each other but in the end, if you take a step back, Wow is an incredibly simple game. All the models for the mobs are just repeats - Your seeing the same boar again 30 levels later only its just a bit bigger, and maybe a different colour.

well for people that have high end pc's, they would enjoy games like Lotro cause they get more bang for the buck. You are acting as if you need a $2,000 computer to run Lotro. Its not the case I have a $800 pc and it runs it just fine.

Exactly, wow doesn't push the envelope of graphics and a lot of people are annoyed with that. Lotro allows you to go a lot farther with graphics, but also allows for the average computer to play as well.

somone mentioned FFXI what a nightmare

it's constant grind I played it for a year and half becuase it was my first mmo and I thought it was good.The Dleveling the LFG forever to do anything and then you kill the same mobs for an hour if your lucky then somone has to go and then it's back to lfg for another hour or 2.

Then the quest that were rewarded no exp and were annyoing had to run 100 diffrent places if there was bathrooms in the game they'd make you do a 5 hour quest for toilet paper

and yeah i agree. I mean my main character who is a champion makes plenty for all that but you mentioned you didnt play one. All my other characters (especially my burglur and minstrel) make almost no money at all. I have like 5 skills i havnt purchased on my minstrel and they are all good... i just cant afford it its crazy your right... then at lvl 35 though a horse isnt that much. you have the money for it. But yes for lots of classes money is a huge isue.

Ok i definately agree on a lot in your video... very neat review. I like the random drop for criting items. I also like that you have to work harder for your horse and get to lvl 35... im a lvl 39 and over getting to lvl 35 i thought it was all worth it... on a trial ofcoarse you wont make much money and being use to wow it is a lot more work but with the game I like the money system... It is worth the killing of stuff o get it cause you will get your horse in the end. thats what i think. good!!

Eh Wow is still a lot better. Yes its graphics aren't realistic but it is meant to be like that. It's more colorful not as dull. WoW still has much better attack style. Faster paced, better raids, and MUCH better pvp. Before you flame me yes ive played both to end game WoW is still much better.

I admit that LOTRO's Pvp gets boring after a while and i dont really like it. Others though do. You cant compare pvp in other games to lotros pvp. Lotros pvp is so much different and more like your accually being the bad guy than just killing freeps or other players. Thats what i like about it but the pvp aint that good. better raids? No lotro is way better. Lotro has nicer people who play. Wow is full of some random kids just cussin all over. Lotro has better players to me. less spam. I like it

Nah dude i agree with you skyanimal. I've played Warcraft sense beta and ive been enjoying lotro a lot more.

If you have a good PC that can run lotro on medium or high then lotro is just a hell of a lot more enjoyable IMO.

Leveling in lotro is a lot funner to. IT actually has a main quest line. What i mean by that is there are cut scenes etc.

WoW is just a grind fest to 70 where you get your welfare epics and go around ganking people.
