what i liked most about the ending was that they loved her enough not to let her last image of them be a struggle or altercation with police, but them smiling at her. they were hand-bound and couldn't hug her back or wave, but they could smile, even though they felt awful and knew their fate. even when i was little and watching this movie, that resonated with me. i think i'll buy this movie today.
@HaligonianType1 agreed. i remember watching this movie over and over and crying at the end every single time. i always wished she could have stayed with them. they were good men with tender hearts who made bad choices.
@Milkdudds92 --There is absolutely NO SHAME in a man crying. I am deeply saddened to find out what happened to Bridgette and she has been gone over 14 years and I never knew. It doesn't make it any easier.
A lady I used to work with said everytime her little girl Jennifer saw the part they just showed she would cry, Now I know why, that was such a sad part. ),:
Saw this movie many times as a kid. Now, I'm the grown up with the kids. I still remember what it was like to be a kid, and how important it is now, not to forget how you felt as a kid.
the only thing that would make you cry right now, watching this movie..... is that Bridgette is gone from us...... she was so good -- I hope she's in heaven with Jesus
This is the 1st movie I ever cried to growing up! Im 31 and Love it STILL have it on DVD.. When he says "I hope nobody evr tels her we were bad guys..." she thought the world of them two!!
I can remember watching this movie and crying,sobbing...the real ugly cry. One of my favorite movies!!!! I am 35 yrs. old and it still has the exact same effect.
This is a masterpiece. I have been in those mnts, and that exact park ( where she hid in the car) I grew up around there, Utah. Off subject here but people allways ask if im a morman, I am NOT.I just happened to be born in Utah
ive actually went to movie rental places and they dont have it. i really want to see it because my mom named me savannah after seeing savannah smiles :)
I'm a 31 year old guy, and not afraid one bit to admit this movie makes me cry every time I see it. Heck I'm all teared up right now just from watching this clip. I used to watch this movie when I was a kid. Thanks for posting this wonderful scene.

Even sadder that this cute little girl ended up dying from a heroin overdose at age 21. She was so cute. What a waste.
