We have to demand that Congress stop subsidizing fossil fuels with direct $ subsidies, free and open access to drill/mine on public lands not to mention the support overseas and aggressive foreign policy which enables big oil/big energy to operate and dominate foreign countries where oil is located. If all of these were cut, the price of a gallon of gas would reflect it's real cost and probably be somewhere in the range of 9$-13$ per gallon.

Hi Greyflcn. Thanks for joining into the discussion. That's what we're trying to accomplish through these videos -- not necessarily promoting ethanol as a total solution but encouraging discussion about and raising awareness of flex and bio fuels in general. And if we can make people laugh while doing it, all the better.

Brazil has crap working conditions for (sugarcane) ethanol production. Lets just put it this way slavery is more present today than it ever was.

Bad example. Only 13% by volume of their fuel comes from Ethanol, but thats only about 10% by energy content.

The only thing we need to learn from Brazil is how to cut down our fuel use per capita down to 4 barrels a year, rather than 27 barrels of oil per capita per year.

If we could even get down to 11 barrels per capita each year, we would be "energy independant". We drill that much domestic oil.
