  • It looks like continuous welded rail and BNSF has both old wood ties and newer concrete ties. The wheel in your coach must have had a flat spot since I heard a steady clacking and there are no gaps in the rail, right?

  • @brassspitoon I am sure you are right that car had a flat spot on a wheel. I have noticed this on other trains going on welded rail. Here is a real jointed rail video at "Amtrak Southwest Chief going Clickety-Clack"
