As a hatteras owner I think the video is great! Too bad about the audio, never heard that kind of noise on any of the hatteras boats I've been on, neither underway nor at the dock.
I would choose hatteras over Viking in any severe storm force condition on any day . Takeing on head seas the heavier / stronger solid hull bottom that hatteras builds splits through waves better and is more stable and heading down wind the extra low center of gravity does well also.
vikings dont get tossed around. I have been on plenty. They are my favorite boats and i own a 55 ocean ss. They dont roll like the hatteras and bertrams and they still handle better than a modified V. Especially in a following sea.
The vikings are fast boats but if Hatteras left out about 20,000 lbs of fiberglass out of thier hulls and another 5,000 lbs of structural support they would be fast to and you would get tossed around like you were riding in a viking ........
The Viking 82 C is about 162,250 lbs (It is about 168,000 with the larger engines) The Hatteras 77 displaces 175,000 pounds. The difference isn't huge in my opinion, and i would still choose viking for speed
You are compareing boats of different sizes . If the hatteras 77 was "enlarged" in length to match the 82C the hatteras would displace about 190,000 lbs or be almost 27,000 lbs heavier then the viking .I do agree that the vikings are faster and a bit more fuel efficeint .Hatteras on the hand has in my opinion a smoother ride and over time do not develope all the stress cracks in thier gelcoat . Both brands have strenghts and neither have any major weekness .
I agree with all your opinions and facts. I wasn't trying to defend one yacht over another. I just would take the increased bit of speed over the bit of ride.

Yes of course and Fiat cars are very better than Ferrari car scum . Our Fiat 600 can go 0 to 500 mph in 2 seconds !!

Coronet Boats are very better for rough seas than that scum.
Our 30ft Coronet experienced Force 8 seas !!
