I have this case. It was great for a while but not good for sli or big heatsinks like the noctua D14. The power cables get very cluttered, the power supply is on the bottom which makes it very hard to attach sata power cables, and the D14 just barely fits which I suspect is not good for the airflow. It came with lots of thumb screws and spacers, two quality antec tri speed fans, and I paid 60$ for it which was a pretty good deal.
2. Metal parts of computer transfer heat to the air, which is constantly being refreshed from the air entering the computer (a bit like human sweat constantly evaporates and is refreshed by cooler sweat which then absorbs more heat
3. Warmer air exits case
The only difference is that your room will heat up a little. The computer's components doesn't put anything into the air, except thermal and kinetic energy.
Hi i know this has been asked already but i also have one spot for fan. (beside from the power supply fan.) But it's on the side and not at the back. My room is quite dusty and i have dogs and cats around so im a bit worried. So again i ask inwards or outwards? TNX..
@rampant1010 I would go inwards so the positive air pressure tends to keep most of the dust out (but you will still have some dust accumulation which is unavoidable).
@hectec69 Usually when you only have one spot for a fan in a computer it will be at the back and it will be an exhaust (blow air out). But if you ask this question, perhaps you are interested enough to buy a good cheaply priced case and transfer your system to a case with a better airflow. Just a suggestion!
Hi i have a question to ....i have 3 fans and the power supply is old that has intake from outside of the case inside.....and i what to put the fans in this sense .....back intake ...side intake and in the front down to be outward ....is it good...... thanks for your time. ..
i have 3 fans in my computer one right in the front underneath the hard drives one at the back in the usual place, but i have an extra fan which i need to install which is the third one so i'm wondering if it should be intake or outake
@zakeesha I prefer more intake, but that's a personal preference. If you are not going for extreme cooling simply adding a fan will be an improvement.
Sir, i have only 2 fan to set. is it ok to set the side fan as inward air flow, and the other fan at the back as outward airflow? pls reply.. thnx.. sorry for my bad english..
which is better? 2 120mm fans inhaling cool air from the top.. a 200mm fan inhaling cool air at the front.. and a 120mm exhausting hot air from the rear.. or should i make it so that the the top fans are exhausting and everything else is getting cool air..?
@MindSeeR666 If I'm not mistaken the HAF-X comes with 200mm fans which is about as big as they come, and since they don't have to spin as fast, as quiet as they come. What you might be hearing is the fan on your video card or CPU heatsink.
@MindSeeR666 Dirty fans will tend to make more noise also. If they are close to a wall they have to work more to push/pull the air. Other than that without seeing the system these would be my best guesses. For the orientation, front and side : in, top and back : out, that's as optimal as it's going to get for air cooling.
im still confused so.. u want to have the same amounts of fans in the front as in the back or is it ok to have more fans in front and less fans in back?
@Kyoshimaro123 It does not have to be the same amount at the back or at the front, it's better to have as much air being pushed in as air being pushed out, location of the fans doesn't really matter but a smoother flow (front pulls in, back pushes out) will help.
great video! keep the videos coming. while I'm no noob at computers, this is definitely an informative guide for anyone starting computing or case moding
how many fans should my pc have?
to its air flow
TSASIS12ify 1 week ago
@TSASIS12ify Depends on your PC and how hot it gets. Usually only one exhaust fan will be fine for most systems.

i have asked this many times cause i am suspicous to computer air..
is computer air just air or does it have bad things for our brains?
TheRogueMonk 2 months ago
@TheRogueMonk It's just air. Don't be too suspicious since it's the same principle as the hot air that comes out of the vents in your car ;)

@devylcry If the case has good ventilation and the temperatures are good, no need to fix what isn't broken.

I'm curious as to have my airflow in the HAF-X.. Front and side in. top and back out is how I got it.. I want it quiet too but it's not -.-

@colinprprpr Used to be a great case for the price but nowadays something like the Cooler Master HAF 912 is way better suited for the same price.
