I am RTS Gamer and I have Played "End War". I think "World In Conflict" is Much Better Than it although "WIC" is Pretty Old but the Control and Interface is Much Much Better than "EndWar".. This is My Opinion, You can Criticize

This game is one BIG fail! deleted it after 15 minutes of playing... gameplay sucks badly,, graphics were on max and still looked like shit. This aint a RTS, its hybrid or something... and its very bad!

@DanijelTomic1 No but you can destroy them, although it takes about 500 direct artillery hits to dismantle a rundown wooden shack but one enemy infantry unit standing in the middle of an open field can completely destroy 4 of your helicopter gunships. It's an okay game but if you were to buy any other RTS game it'd probably be better than this one.
@halospartan199 It's okay.It only uses about 6 identical maps for several places around the globe.That's kinda crappy.It requires no real strategy either and the battles are very small and usually last between 10 and 30 minutes,leaning heavily to 10.Lot's of units jammed onto comparatively tiny maps.It's good for a casual but unsatisfying time-killer.Especially when the game ends for no apparent reason after the 3rd turn,which it sometimes does.

@TheGreatMercenary IMO,consoles are ripoffs.For the same +/-$300 it costs to buy a decent console you can outfit your PC to play 95% of the games on the market.Don't let the PC snobs fool you.You don't need to spend any more than that to get satisfactory performance provided you have a decent PC.Plus you get the addition of games not available on consoles and generally of higher quality.PC games cost on average$10-20 less than the identical game for consoles too.Plus mods a-plenty.

@DAAubrey Freak out?I agree 100%.I play more games on console than pc,shooters especially because of the controller.I mainly use a pc really only for rts games and games not available on console, like STALKER and SWAT.I was speaking purely from a standpoint of the capability of a pc vs. console.And I have my pc hooked to a 37 inch tv.

(and if it takes to long it's not really a clean kill) Then there's also the chance that you were shot in the leg or arm, which assuming it missed arteries, will not kill you but likely greatly reduce your fighting capabilities. Also, it really does depend on the calibre, a 556 is less likely to kill you with torso shots rather than a 762.

@jazz21aa52 Console RTSs aren't as complicated and some people like it that way.Endwar is a decent game,there's not much to it.The upgrades are really cool though.PC based RTSs sometimes get too complicated.I like huge epic battles that the PC can power but the thing I absolutely positively despise is the whole idea of resource gathering.Some people like to say it's realistic but there's no realism when the guy that has to micromanage the battle also has to micromanage the resources.

@COLESTOCKDALE Well,they have to dumb them down for the console to handle them plus there's just not much of a market for true RTS games on console.Even if there were the controller would severely limit their capability.Trying to play a game like Men of War on a console, assuming it didn't fry it, would be impossible because of the controller.
Current US technology can use nano machines to control individual soldiers to the platoon level as a single unit. But someday war will be as simple as controlling units as Endwar. You army will be a single unit.
I have played this game and I must say it is good. The bad thing about this game is when you go online ,you have to wait long in the lobby. It' gets boring for me when I win so many times.
@akotarakz lol not like that, it has to be like "Unit 1 Secure Alpha" or "Unit 5 attack hostile 2" and you press the right trigger to enable the voice commands, its push to talk so you have to hold down the trigger while you are talking and then release it when you are done. the game manual tells you the order that the words go in and what type of word goes where. the order is "who", "do what" and "where or who"
@trigger670 thats cuz the vid resolution is crappy, get an HDTV, hook up an XBOX or PS3 with HD cables and see the eye candy, the controls are slick and the gameplay can be hectic during big battles. i hope ur not judging the game from this one map
I'm thinking of buying Endwar, but I don't know much about the strengths and weaknesses of each faction in practice. If anyone could tell me something that could help me out it would be great.
This game is really fun but it's SOOO hard sometimes...also a lot of roaming but that's just part of the experience and you just have to get over that...
Hahaha this looks like some japanese games, lots of pre-rendered videos, cool images and hype, then you play the game itself and you find they have bad contriols, awful points of view and overall boring gameplay sequences.
If this was like battlefield bad company, that would be awesome. Having tank and helicopter wars. Sadly, no one listens to you online if you were a commander or something

@jazz21aa52 Console RTSs aren't as complicated and some people like it that way.Endwar is a decent game,there's not much to it.The upgrades are really cool though.PC based RTSs sometimes get too complicated.I like huge epic battles that the PC can power but the thing I absolutely positively despise is the whole idea of resource gathering.Some people like to say it's realistic but there's no realism when the guy that has to micromanage the battle also has to micromanage the resources.

@Tails2442 There is a low maturity level with both.You are right but it's most prevalent with consoles.A good indicator is the typically large gap in user ratings from pc vs. console gamers for the same game when that games requires little or no brainpower to finish.Another indicator is PSPfanboy's ridiculous statement that RTS fails on console because RTS is garbage.Were RTS garbage it would fail on any platform yet it thrives on PC and generally fails on console.

@weeeeed070 Not sure what you mean exactly but REAL RTS games have a massive control interface.A console controller can't handle it and even a voice command system won't work.As fas as I remember this is all I had to say about controllers and RTS and it was only offered as one reason why RTS fails on console.Don't get me wrong,I like EndWar it's just very stripped down.

@COLESTOCKDALE Well,they have to dumb them down for the console to handle them plus there's just not much of a market for true RTS games on console.Even if there were the controller would severely limit their capability.Trying to play a game like Men of War on a console, assuming it didn't fry it, would be impossible because of the controller.

Current US technology can use nano machines to control individual soldiers to the platoon level as a single unit. But someday war will be as simple as controlling units as Endwar. You army will be a single unit.

@akotarakz lol not like that, it has to be like "Unit 1 Secure Alpha" or "Unit 5 attack hostile 2" and you press the right trigger to enable the voice commands, its push to talk so you have to hold down the trigger while you are talking and then release it when you are done. the game manual tells you the order that the words go in and what type of word goes where. the order is "who", "do what" and "where or who"
