Jay Z is a pretty cool guy. He is starting up a restaurant to employ youth who don't stay in school - employing youth is a much better idea then them ending up in gangs. People that grow up in neighborhoods where there is a lot of gang violence can develop detrimental mental health issues like post traumatic stress disorder, and that disorder can cause severe depression and even amnesia. So if you have to witness drive bys your memory can be harmed which makes learning tough. Guns suck.

It would make no sense for him to rap about his experiences in the hood and selling crack and what not. That stuff had its time and place. The difference between Eminem and jay-z is that Jay-z has real classic albums, 5 mic albums and Eminem doesn't. Albums that we compare with Illmatic, Aquemini, Chronic, Paid in Full, Ready 2 Die, All Eyez on Me, 36 Chambers, Only built 4 cuban Linx, Midnight Marauders, No One can do it better and on and Eminem doesn't have any albums on that list far from. MMLP is a good album, but it's not classic.
