  • Dose anyone think the change from a Yamana xv 535 to Triumph Thunderbird can be hard considering the weight difference and that I am not a tall person. I do feel very comfortable on the Virago, I am 1.66m tall and have 64kg. Thank you.

  • vic XC here....had a triumph way back when....this looks like a fine ride.

  • How is a 1600 cc motorcycle considered a mid-size cruiser????

  • Got mine a week earlier, a Triumph America 2011, wow I cannot believe how good it looks and the compliments, I was about to get a Honda Phantom. This bike looks like a big expensive bike. Power is OK. Honda was more nimble to ride, I love both but bought this one. If I had more money would get a honda as a second bike

  • What's common between a Harley and a Dog??? They both ride in back of a pick up :)......lol

  • @MrChutzpah2002

This Video = not about a Harley

  • @MrStuartMiddleton Thanks for pointing it out genius...

  • @MrChutzpah2002

    Then your comment is irrelevant.

  • @MrStuartMiddleton You are irrelevant ...

  • it does not matter how much you love other bikes. But its hard to hate this bike. and its sound is awesome.

  • I read these comments and it really makes me aware of how much hate exists in this world. Here, someone is good enough to give those of us who love motorcycles a chance to evaluate. Right off the bat it becomes a pissing contest. Why can't we just comment on the subject at hand and respect each others opinions. That's all they are,,,opinions. Read most of these posts and feel the wasted energy it took to spew them.

  • I've been looking around the bike market in the same way you look for a good woman to marry. After seeing this beauty, I think I'm finally in love...

  • Really well done video. We are big fans of Triumph motorcycles. Thanks.

  • sounds like an old war bird, have to have one of these bikes.

  • Listen you pommie cockwolloper and you yanky dipshit. Its a video review of a motorcycle, not a history lesson on one failed and one failing superpower making pricks of themselves.

  • I watched this video because I wanted to see the evolution of this company. I owned a 650 Bonneville in 72. You ASSHOLES with your beefs about anything but this bike and the manufacturer need to grow balls and meet and settle your lame shit off the net! Leave these sites to those that relate to the subject!

  • tank mount instrumentslook out of place on triumph

  • harleys sux they are over priced ego inflated pieces of crap I own a kawasaki vn1600 and love it but really want a 6sp i think this bike will be my next but with the big bore 1700 kit

  • Not knocking the bike and I love parallel twins, but isn't 85hp at the crack a little underwhelming for almost 1600cc?

  • Nice looking bike save two issues. The big tall radiator. Better performance I'm sure but air cooled is a much cleaner look. 2. Headlight seems tiny and odd looking to me, maybe because of said irks with radiators. As for all the BS people are writing... England is a cool place (I loved London) and Triumph makes some pretty cool bikes. America is pretty F' in cool too as are some Harleys. As for the idiots arguing about indians... yeah they were cool motorcycles too!

  • harleys are for guys with tiny ball syndrom

  • too expensive

  • Gotta get me one....

  • e eee

  • God save the queen! What's not to like about the bike? The first harley rider was Napoleon Bonaparte. He rode an huge horse to make up for his small......you fill in the blank.I've ridden all and to each his own.But let's be honest we americans aren't the only ones in the world who know how to make fine tuned machines.

  • @davegm100 Which is better the Street Bob or the Thunderbird?

  • My dream bike. It beats the hell out of any Cookie cutter, ugly paint job. Sound like shit stock Harley Davidson. The Thunderbird is kick ass. Kicks any Harleys ass to beat all hell.

  • forza barsa

    BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASA : D

  • Considering Triumph actually started building motorcycles one year before Harley, I don't think it would be accurate to call them "wannabes". The Thunderbird is the best mid-size cruiser in the world. Bar none.

  • @sleazyweaz I guess if you compare it to mid size cruiser it would be ahead of them all because it's a full size cruiser, but it is pretty fkn nice.

  • @sleazyweaz Not to say triumph is bad.(been through two daytona 675's and love em) but just because they STARTED making motorcycles before doesn't mean they made cruisers before them. harley has been making cruisers for a long time. triumph made different bikes. both a good in their own respects. but i find triumph great...but IMO I am a BMW bike(no cars) man. my s1000rr is just to morbidly fun to want to sit back and cruise.

  • @BaneOfFreeSpeech This one snuck up on me.... as did Triumph in general. I always liked them from a distance but never thought I would own one, now I think my first bike is always going to be a triple of some kind ('02 Sprint ST w/ RS config now, next is prolly a used 1050 Tiger). So anyway at the dealer I saw two red ones next to each other and was shocked at how beautiful they really are, plus that handling is better than most.

    It's a great rig.

  • @sleazyweaz harley are better

  • Rode one yesterday. There's nothing out there that can top it at that price point.

  • esta con ganas el video

  • Nice bike, some new pipes this thing got it.

I live here in USA and Like Harleys, but there just sexy bikes, but they run hot and have no Balls. This Bikes takesTriumph to a new level. SWEET.

  • I'll enjoy watching Harley-Davidson bite the dust and lose their ass—along with their loyal customers. America can't make jack shit. The prices are high only because of corporate greed and the total lack of common sense of their customers. They aren't worth shit.

  • Do not pay for Motorcycle Manuals,

  • @DuppyBruh Keep fucking your sister, mate.

  • This is a beautiful bike. I am new to riding and live in the states. So I read the forums and try to get a feel of what bike I would like. However, all I see is Harley sycophantical sheep. Come'on grow some balls and a sense of your own style and er... brain and get off your Harley Bible. "Bow to Harley! Bow!" "We love Harely!" Freaking sheep. You guys compare everything to Harley. Ya im not gonna get a Harley and be a poser like the majority..

  • The Thunderbird used to be a wonderful 3 cylinder motorcycle like a large Bonneville. Whatever possessed Triumph to turn it into a cruiser is beyond me. They only seem to do Sports Bikes, the Bonneville and cruisers now - I want the original back !!!

  • @liamella They do another fantastic bike called the Speed Triple. I've had mine for years and wouldn't part with it for anything!

  • The only good thing to come out of England. Winston Churchhill and this bike!

  • @bohemond4 right of course yes conmpletely agree, that is if they are thonly two British things you've ever heard of.

  • @bohemond4 Glad you didn't include Scotland,Ireland or Wales in your statement.

  • @bohemond4 and the Who, the Beatles, and the Stones.

  • Beautiful bike. Seriously thinking of trading in my '03 Night Train (Harley) for this

  • Sounds pretty smooth for a big bore parallel twin.

  • HEY nettoblaster. USA has alot of MEDALS DONT THEY

    GO USA

  • No LawfordLad I don't think America invented the world. But much good has come out of America - it's not just guns and bombs and Harleys. The deluded minds however are the ones that think America has contributed nothing but bad. These people have either been alive only during the Bush presidency or simply hate America for their own country's shortcomings.

  • There are only 2 things bad about the USA: The junk cars you produce (from the 1980's onwards) and your sports, everything else is ace.

  • @nettoblaster Bite ME !

  • is it true a motorcycle emits EMF that causes cancer?

  • Mr Mark kennedy and his first mate Peter Carlio absolutely gave me no, zero, nada zip help when my local Triumph dealer, Kingsport Cycles completely muffed a simple valve adjustment on my 06 Rocket III. Terrible rattle at 3500 rpm after the botched attempt. They had not a clue how to fix it so they, along with the afore mentioned individuals put me out to pasture. 10 mons owned and 8k lost gettin rid of it. rest assured if you have a problem dont count on Triumph motors of america for help.

  • My father and brother both own and ride Harleys and a buell. Me personally, wouldn't have one given to me. Triumph is the bike for me. Of course, it's always just personal choice! My choice - TRIUMPH Forever!!!!

  • Thunderbird is a bit more than any of Harleys! Sorry mate , But thats the truth!

  • I like Harleys but i went into the Triumph showroom and for £9000 its a nice bike, i carnt afford a harley so might just get one of these lol

  • That's one nice and mean fucking Triumph right there. I like the Rocket III but that thunderbird is sweet!

  • Toro76aus - American technology has allowed you to bitch about America on this website. Even a cunt like yourself should, at the very least, realize you do have one thing to be thankful for that has come out of America.

  • The way you lot go on you would think the USA invented the world! In your deluded minds...........you probably did!

  • @boddhizattva The world wide web was invented by an Englishman. Dumbass!

  • JUNK!!

  • i love the sound of those parallel twins, and their very reliable to.most of the parallel twins out there have 180 degree timing, but i read in cycle world a while back that they weren't going to use the traditional 180 timing they use on parallel twins.i can't exactly remember what degree of timing they were gonna go with, but that explains the extra lopey sound the engine has.

  • proud owner of a rocket iii, but if triumph had come out with this one first, this is what i would've bought instead... although i'm very happy with my rocket, i was a little afraid of it at first. (good thing, too, or i'd've killed myself on it.)

i looked at harleys, but nice as they were, they were WAY outta my price league....

  • I don't know anyone who likes Harleys. They had their place 50 years ago. These days they're cheaply built, overpriced shitheaps and any rider worth their salt will say the same.

    Sorry.

  • too true

  • I disagree with your comments mate.

Sounds like you are suffering from Harley penise envy syndrome

The reason you dont know anyone who likes Harleys is because you dont know any one who owns a Harley.

    Owners will tell you otherwise.

Great bikes to ride. The quality is right up I know because I have owned a few.

Take your advise from those who own a Harley other wise you talk shit and talking shit only gives you bad breath.

Live to ride ride to live.

  • Spoken like a true Harley rider, it's all about Penis size hey :)

  • @tikiteahua Harleys - built by plumbers for farmers to ride - fun to ride in a straight line

  • how about a big 360 degree timing conversion

  • Why do these vids become a forum for Harley haters or Harley Elitists? Can't you accept that his is an excellent bike in its own right. I wouldn't compare this to a Harley as its an English interpretation of a cruiser. I like Harleys and Triumph. If I had the money I'd have one each!

  • i mean that only to the leaders of the country, who turn out to be the most stupid, as it happens to be .

  • there is a reason why nothing is "Made In America" exept guns and bombs. a Harley Davidson would be classed as a bomb hahahaha blows apart from vibrations - definition of explosion hahahahahahaahahha look at that :)

ps. Japan is always a decade ahead of the rest of the world, then u say that jap bikes are crap.

such ignorance, from a bunch of true idiots, and thanx for fkign up the economy, environment and society .. .AGAIN. jesus christ...

  • You hate America? Go back to china or russia or wherever you came from you communist. you wont be missed

  • Nobody hates America, wonderful peice of land. Its the cunts that have infested the place that are the problem. Get it!

  • and wat the fuck makes you such a great person

  • I dont know ,you tell me? You lot seem to have all the answers!

  • @LawfordLad

Ha ha ha ha ha....someone said what we were all thinking!

  • @LawfordLad couldn't have said it better myself hahahaha I totally agree :)

  • @LawfordLad If you mean by every ethnicity or every type of immigrant infesting the landscape known as America, then yes I can understand.

  • @MattyTheMole Hey dude.Which native American tribe are you from since you're not an immigrant?

  • @idzwanjo Are you retarded ? To be a native you have to be born in the country. You do realize that anyone outside Africa is technically an immigrant if we take your logic to its conclusion.

  • I believe you've got the context of my comment wrongly. Native in my context means:characteristic of or relating to people inhabiting a region from the beginning; "native Americans"; "the aboriginal peoples of Australia" -Princeton Website-. I'm also referring to the American history whereby the American Indians were the original inhabitant even before Columbus discovered America. You've went too far by assuming that I'm talking about the history of mankind.Hope I've made it clear.

  • @idzwanjo The origins of "native" americans is not fully known. There is evidence of europeon and african dna in some of the remains discovered. And I understood your point and commented correctly. Humans immigrated out of Africa to the rest of the world. Saying that one people are the "real" natives or deserve a piece of land over another is nonsense. The aboriginal people didn't make the land they inhabit it. People following them deserve the same right to live there regardless when they came.

  • @LawfordLad Hahaha this coming from someone who lives in the UK. The uk is responsible for more misery than any other society in course of human history. You should properly shut the fuck up and read your own history. Read what you did to the people of india and china not to mention the middle east and many more. And most british people i have met are complete assholes shitheads.

I'm betting you never spent any meaningful time in america and are just spouting typical anti american euro hatred.

  • @bulldog01209-Hey Bulldog-you're right re UK tho the majority of people in uk would have been peasants-working class-and just as miserable as the people they were busy conquering. We dont dislike America or anywhere else, its not that important when you're just trying to get by and pay your bills. Most Americans I have met - ie 6 - were fine people. How many uk people have you actually met in their own country getting on with their own lives?Yep we are people just like you guys with our own bigots!

  • @bulldog01209 Yer we fucked up many times. At least we are man enough to admit our mistakes. And try to to make things right. You cunts blindly spout that you are No 1 at everything , and yet 95% of you have never been anywhere else to judge. Prick!

  • @bulldog01209 "The uk is responsible for more misery than any other society in course of human history." But what about the USSR? Or the peoples republic of china? or the democratic peoples republic of north korea (DPRNK)?

  • @LawfordLad C.U.N.T., Can't Understand Normal Thinking

  • @wrightchix Another Harley loving/blind Yank's feeling have been hurt! Bless!

  • @LawfordLad I live here and agree with you 100%

  • @LawfordLad How many times have we left our homes and had to come save you from your neighbors? Our intercity gangs are badder than your military. Study history. I doubt your even a real brit. You sound French. Now who's the cunt?

  • @LawfordLad

How many times have we had to send our youth over there because you were getting beat up by your neighbors? Our inter city youth are meaner than your military. You need to review your history, laddy boy. It's not like you've got a record of kicking alot of ass in modern times. We ran a better armed British fleet out of here with squirrel rifles. I've met some tough Brits in my day. Youre not one of them. You sound French to me.

    +

  • @LawfordLad

How many times have we had to send our youth over there because you were getting your asses pounded by your neighbors? Our inter city youth are meaner than your military. You need to review your history, laddy boy. It's not like you've got a record of kicking alot of ass in modern times. We ran a better armed Brittish militia out of here with squirrel rifles. I've met some tough Brits in my day. Youre not one of them. You sound French to me. Now who's the cunt?

  • @MrJoemungus Yes your young men helped us, and for that we are grateful. Thanks also for fuckin up the rest of the planet with your yeehaw foreign policy. You make yourself look a right cunt with the 'our inner city youth are tougher than our army' comment. Why? A bunch of fat American kids fighting the best trained military is funny. And even if it was true, would you be proud that your inner cities are that nice a place, i know i wouldnt. Now do fuck right off old boy!

  • @LawfordLad well said...

  • @MrJoemungus why u cussing the French, is it because they didn't help u in u r fake war on terror, is it because they have a bettter health care system.. third of the states in america are below the poverty line, for a so called superpower.. and don t say u r gdp is 15 trillion because your debt is 500 trillion... and France made u the fukin statue of liberty, maybe they cant believe such a nice country growed to be a bully ...

  • @MrJoemungus not sure why you keep talking shit about the french... you do realize that without them we wouldn't have won independence right?

  • @LawfordLad I was thinking the same thing about your piece of shit broke ass country

  • @LawfordLad Haters gunna hate ;D

  • it must be better than a harley davidson. everything is better than harley davidson. u buy a brand new harley and ride it for 4000 miles and its crank runs out. you have to open the whole engine. what the fuck

  • wellard747, "just another Jap (or Thai) cruiser"??

You don't know what you are talking about.

I'll have you know that my UK-built/Thailand *assembled* 2008 Bonneville has 16,400 miles on it in 14 months and has never the slightest problem. These bikes are capable of 200,000 miles. They are assembled in Thailand to keep costs down. That's it! Purely economical. So lighten up on the Thai bikes. Your attitude towards Asians sounds a bit bigoted. If you don't know what a bigot is, look it up.

  • I'll keep my Bonneville, thanks.

  • Just hope this Thunderbird is going to be made in England otherwise it's just another Jap (or Thai) cruiser, all be it a very good one.

Come on Triumph promise now that this bike will always be English built!

  • Triumphs rock big time!!!! I know i have them from 1953 to the present, nothing else will do.Its also good to see the "Indian" bike for 2010 is looking so good too.

  • That's a very nice bike... wouldn't mind one myself but the price is a bit too high for me.

  • Sound and looks like you done some trolling yourself...

  • good job triumph, good lookin machine,NOW the hardley stupidors will say because it has 2 wheels, TRIUMPH copied hardley's

  • Why does every bike but Harley looks foreign?

  • Wow you are expanding your horizons huh? Trolling Triumph videos now?? Dude you have MAJOR issues..Anyone with this much time to troll CAN"T own a motorcycle of any brand! When would you have the time to ride??

  • don't worry about harleydavidsondabest ,his mumzy an da da don't let him play with sharp objects and shinney trinkets. He is so full shit his eyes are brown, and he is also to busy to ride anything other than spanking his monkey and yapping on u tube.

  • Nearly every bike Triumph make is faster than a Hardley??

  • Not at all. I own 2 Triumphs, my 03 America (790cc) is definitely no faster than ALL Harleys, however my 06 Rocket 3 is DEFINITELY faster than all of them.

Nothing against Harley, of course, I just happen to prefer the Brit bikes :D

  • @threepot, BTW.

  • Josef, what did you make of the Rocket3 then? Harley clone?? The new T'bird is a parallel twin, like all the famous Triumphs b4.

  • Comment removed

  • To be honest; just because the bike has cruiser styling doesn't mean that its a knock off Harley. To be honest, if you sit a Thunderbird down next to a comparable Harley and Victory; you would see several distinctive differences between all three of the different brands of bikes.

Obviously, Triumph isn't even close to being like a Harley in terms of its Engine. Passed that, it seems that the Triumph has an all around better fit and finish than Harley.

  • JosefWunsche, Stop Embarassing YOURSELF and other Harley owners, not all think like this TWIT. First look at the facts, Triumph was established in 1902 and Harley in 1909, so acutally they have been round longer hence more of the REAL DEAL! Secondly the Harley power train is a V TWIN and Triumph is a parelleltwin, styling is VERY different. I'm a Harley owner but I also own other bikes, get out and actually ride different bikes and LEARN bout them instead of posting idiotic comments!!!

  • Judging by the response and use of vocabulary, CLEARLY an idiot....lol

  • Comment removed

  • laukemp1, You are also showing your lack of Intelligence, the comments I made were in responce to a put down by JWBush....nice to see you have come to the rescue, is he family and if so how many generations of Inbreeding does it take to spawn you two! LOL

  • correct me if I'm wrong but the 1937 Triumph Speed Twin was the first production motorcycle with the clock console on the tank...

  • had it over the weekend. first thing I did this morning was start selling my HD. Got a speedmaster already and I can´t wait to get the bigger sister. I am completely hooked by the new T-bird. Triumph rule !! got it ?

  • I like it I wonder how the stock seat is, I wonder how it would perform againt a RS warrior?

  • great sounding bike!

  • Harley wannabe ??? Its got a parelleltwin engine,- Its made in Brittain, can it be more different?

And Triumph looks way better than any Harley,- you must be a complete moron..

  • ever ride a triumph? the parellel twin produces a different kind of power. ive got a 865 that will toast anything under 100 ci

  • totally agree.i have a speedmaster that scares alot of bikes....not expecting a little 865 to toast em!

  • I just love the new Triumphs,i just wish that they would rev and sound as angry as my 750 Bonnie, with half race cams, the new ones sound so tame by comparison.

  • Got mine coming in next week! with the big bore kit on order to boot. This thing is gonna pull like a train

  • im jealous

  • Its time to view my video Honda XRM RS

  • with off road pipes the 270 degree will be awesome..just like my america.the new t-bird is a HD eater

  • They should have left the crank at 360 degrees.

It sounds like a Honda CB450

  • After market exhausts will make this baby growl.

The more I see it the more I want one but I'd love to see a Bonnie or Thruxton with an engine of this size. (Triumph marketing, are you there? I've seen lots of similar requests)

Now that would be something to take out on sunny Sunday (after church of course....:-) )

  • I once had a TT Special.750 cc . loved it.

  • now thats an awesome bike!

  • Try to get one tomorrow!

  • makes me wanted pull out my 66 Triumph bonneville, she just needs some TLC..

  • Interesting. As a Street Bob owner, I'm not a big on the fat tires, which IMO that and the drag bars make it this bike come off as a mix between the Rocker and Fat boy. It sounded great until the end when you could tell it was not a V twin. A bit more than I'd pay in a recession. Who Am I kidding, I'd never buy it, Harley's my bike. Not a bad transition bike though.

  • Just the fact that Triumph is making a 1600 parallel twin w/ belt drive is enough. This thing will make the baddest bobber ever. Thank you Triumph keep it up.....how about a 1600cc Thruxton?

  • 1500cc TWIN??!! Thats got to vibrate yurass completely numb in about 4 minutes flat...$13,000!!!!??? Triumph know theres a recession goin on?

  • No, it's a 1600, and Triumph use something called "technology" and employ people called "engineers" which means they will have designed it so it doesn't vibrate. The current 865 twins are as smooth as silk at any revs.

    Hope that answers you questions.

  • that thing is a piece of crap

  • The killer must run from the killer barker. Not nalts doing the stunts!

  • I dont want to be a nay sayer, but the bike seems a far cry from the original Light, Agile fast Marlon Brando Bike. It looks like they are trying to compete with Harley. If we'd remember they kicked Harley's ass in the 50's, by being themself not copying Harley. That is why we have the Sportster, Harley's response to Britain. I would like to see a Triumph do something like the new Harley XR 1200. Half cruiser, half sport bike. This bike looks like its trying to compete with the Softail,

  • Great sound

  • triumphs are were its at men...my buddy has got the 675 daytona...it kills...and im jealous...

  • Saw one of those the other day, huge fat things, didn't know they were parralel twin.

  • are you sure it wasn't the Rocket III? it is also a cruiser but is bigger and has a 3 cylinder motor.

  • I guess it could've been. The rev counter and tank thing looked the same :p i'm not big on cruisers to be honest. Either way it was huge and looked similar to that.
