  • I like this performance....free from the over exuberant rubato that many others exhibit.

  • The technique seems OK, but it is seriously lacking in Chopinian sentimentality and Romantic musicality.

  • T-T its so beautiful, theres just so much emotion in how ur playing!

its amazing continue to play with this much emotion for all of ur future....playings...

i could just listen to this all day

    -replays song all day-

  • Dude, what's the mark of this piano? It sounds so good!

  • @manfred500 :

    reprise par gainsbourg

    c'est Chopin qui l' a créé !

  • @742scorpion sorry, I don't speak french. I just assume you said something real clever and funny!

  • @graydorian007

  • is too fast man... you did a nice work. but i think it slow better....

  • @zandoification It depends on which edition you have. I forgot which it was but Chopin had different tempo markings and one of them was Allegro and not the Lento ma non troppo that most of us are used to.

  • i could play it but i have forgett how to play it

  • The piano sound is strange, it is ripping my ears apart.

  • This is honky-tonk piano ;-)

  • Way too fast. But good dynamics, especially in the middle voice. Strangely, though, your speed seems to be more fitting in that middle section than it does during the theme.

  • Hm~ Curious. I don't know very much about classical music, but I imagine that it's supposed to be pulling at one's heartstrings - being titled "tristesse" or "melancholy", I would expect more.. melancholy :o

I'm not bashing though, your technique is excellent even though it doesn't capture my heart.

  • So Fast I think

    but it is nice COOL

  • Lindissimo, obrigado.

Cheers from Melbourne, Australia.

  • Not bad at all... but its quite a bit cold

  • Magnifique! Merci beaucoup.

  • So strange, the place wriiten "riten.", he played at accelarando, and crescendo, he played at diminuendo.

  • too fast

  • nope. i think this is the best i've heard on youtube

  • a little too rushed if you ask me.

seemed to be played quite freddo

(that actually is a musical term btw :D it means with no feeling at all)

  • Your performance is too mechanical, devoid of any real feeling. The pace is also erratic in parts.

  • beautiful absolutely beautiful. This song always makes me want to cry. The first time I heard it I actully did. ^_^

  • @kirara2256 wow thats pathetic

  • @MikeHuntyo Gee thanks sorry if music moves me. It's a wonderful thing and it's hard not to fall love with it.

  • @kirara2256 lmao shut the fuck up you fuckin pussy. who the fuck crys over some rusted up old nust sack playing some bull shit on piano

  • @MikeHuntyo hahaha are you fucking stupid? judging by your page you seem to be, because you listen to shit like parkway drive. Chopin was more talented of a musician than those emo fucks will ever be, they couldn't even comprehend the talent and knowledge it takes to play this and write this so they stuck with the fucking generic breakdown. a round of applause to another tight panted emo hair cut whiny ass metal band.

  • @MetallicaSlayerGNR lol just cause they scream doesnt make them emo u ignorant cock sucker. and i play piano pretty well actually so i no what this music is worth. anyone who says it makes them cry is obviously a soft vagina tool. lol and i never said anything about talent you dumb ass. i never said that parkway drive was more talented then this queer head.so why dont you find a nice sharp knife and cut the insides of your legs open with it cause what you say makes you look ignorant

  • @MikeHuntyo i'm ignorant? read over your comment please. if i may quote you "i play piano pretty well actually so i (k)no(w) what this music is worth" yet you consider people being moved by this very same music "soft vagina tools." if you indeed knew what this music was worth you would understand the emotion it conveys. Parkway Drive, however, is so much more shallow. Classical music is by far the most emotional and deep music out there, you're just the one too ignorant to admit or realize it.

  • très beau morceau de piano

  • Molto bravo magari un giorno mi dai qualche lezione ciao ciao

  • Ein Genuss Ihen zu zu höhren!

  • Amazing

  • Juste magnifique ! Bravo Damien

  • really beautiful, i believe chopin would have applauded

  • It is called "tristesse study"--appreciate an answer

  • Well now, after all those TECHNICAL responses. Thank you for the wonderful music. I feel that music is like the voice of God, speaking from our souls. And you spoke so well. Thank you. You were wonderful. Who are we to judge another's soul speaking. God Bless

  • You make your corner of the world more beautiful. What more can we expect from a human life?

  • Couldn't have played it better myself. Well done. :)

  • í've been playing piano for 9 years now (I'm 14) and I'm studying this etude to :), only the first part (till 1:17) I'll post it when I'm done studying xD

  • solid work

  • Really beautiful Chopin's etude. One of my favourite renditions on youtube is played by an unknown pianist called Nuccio Trotta. He studied with great pianists as Aldo Ciccolini and I think that's a pianist worth listening in to. That's why I say everyone's reading this comment: please watch his channel (seven65's channel) Thanks!

  • Grácias.

  • this one sounds happier to me than most others. fun to listen to.

  • The music seems transparent and looks so wonderful.

    Congratulations

  • gorgeous! it makes me feel so refreshed, thank you for your great performance!

  • I love how you played the melody very clearly.

...I still can't do it, haha. xD

  • Very good, very clear, accurate, precise and expressively played. Great achievement!

  • magnifique.

  • forget about the comment about more delicacy. you have absolutely the right feel for all sections of the piece in my opinion. i prefer the slow section to be taken more slowly than you but that's only personal taste. a little bit more subtlety in the phrase shapes too i think.

  • that was so wonderful. thank you.

  • In my opinion (yes that means you can't flame me!), I think it should be played a bit more delicately. Even the middle section, a little less attack on it would make it sound better. Your technique was flawless, and overall it wasn't half bad :)

  • atention au tempo ca bouge beaucoup trop

  • I fully agree Vyre and sargoo2. The ones who really understand the music and are deeply touched, don't need add a single bit to the emotion the original already carries. I prefer bare renderings than mannered ones.

  • I LOVE IT!

  • Well now, after all those TECHNICAL responses. Thank you for the wonderful music. I feel that music is like the voice of God, speaking from our souls. And you spoke so well. Thank you. You were wonderful. Who are we to judge another's soul speaking. God Bless

  • I agree with sargoo2. thanks for all who post their videos here. They must have tried very hard. As a listener, I personally give strong supports to the players. All of them are great.Criticism shouln't be so harsh. A friendly reminder is good enough. Even if F. Chopin were still alive playing this Etude, What criticism will the audience give???

  • This etude must move and it must float and above all it must sing with some rubato but not too much. The melodic line should speak, even though there are no words. There's a narrative quality to this etude.

  • perfectly done not an oscure note

but itls like a machine theres no soul notiming

    chopin woudntplay this

  • I think that was very perfectly executed, but I think rubato would have made it ... and perhaps some alterations to the tempo. I think this étude sounds great when it just sort of floats along, but you seem quite rushed in some places.

  • I LOVE the way you can clearly hear the melody even though in this piece it's sometimes hard to hear them. Especially in that portion with the beautiful chord changes about 1 minute into it.

  • Unlike past comments, I feel there is, indeed, emotion in the music; it is just overshadowed by how perfect the execution is. The changes of pace highlight this during the whole performance.

I believe that the lack of rubato, rather than being lack of emotion, is brought on by the desire to deliver a well-played, harmonious execution. Rubato would have ruined this Tristesse.

I thank you deeply for uploading this. I don't think I'll stop listening to this for a long, long time.

  • What's the piano brand?

  • Great. Wonderful.

  • Accurated, no doubt about it. Talking about notes, I think there were no mistakes by hearing it once.

    But...

Come on, I didn't feel a single thing while hearing it!! In fact, I got bored. Try to find the rubato we all have inside ourselves, because you forgot about it. I hope you forgot...

But I insist, it is pretty nice played, but it's not talking to me. Make it talk.

  • Very Amazing

  • very nice!

  • Amazing !!

  • The translation of love into musical notes...

    Simply wonderful!

Thanx very much for your wonderful interpretation of that splendid piece!

  • Very heartwarming. Thank you so much for sharing it.
