  • amazing

  • some more epic stuff;)

    /watch?v=rQfPgxdH1y8&feature=related

  • when you like metal/jazz fusion you should check out this band. insane stuff;)

    /watch?v=S-eEGAeyCxA

  • Nice Music....haven't heard them until now. shame on me ;) but where is it jazz-fusion?? it's more a mixture between technical metal and prog-rock. however...like it!

  • at least we can all agree that justin beiver is better than these no talent fucks.

  • @james163163 Go listen to your gay music then

  • This is like the beautiful alien cousin of Tool (no offence to anybody who doesn't like tool)

  • this is just fucking awesome! so is Slipknot, the older albums atleast like Slipknot and Iowa, the new stuff is a little meh.......

  • I'm tired of all the arguing in the comments! Can't we all just put our differences aside and agree that Slipknot are giant fucking fags?

  • All of you shut the fuck up. We are all close-minded. All we need is respect and if we don't want something, then just ignore it. Why bring up "shit" to us or to you or another person? What the fuck, if you can't even realize that, then you yourself/yourselves are the simple-minded ones.

  • @zetsushoren Really? All people are close-minded? I don't know where you live and how you ended up being surrounded only by bigots, but hey man, not all people are close-minded! And you don't just ignore something if you don't want that exact thing, that's pure selfishness! How would someone who only needs respect but ignores things he doesn't want, and others do, earn this respect? Shouldn't you respect what I respect to earn my respect? Even things you "don't want"?

  • @FranLesPaul Exactly my point. If you don't want, why make a fuss over it

Just use your preferences as bases for separating the good things for you and bad things for you. Just ignore it and respect it as others may like it even if you don't. My point, THE point. Kindly elaborate this "selfishness" in ignoring as a sign of respect, rather than dissing the content and main topic. And no, I do not wish to earn your respect, it's up to you whether you are decent enough to show that.

  • @zetsushoren Well, now you're saying something else! What you said was basically 1. if you don't want ignore and 2. seek respect. So, I don't want to do my homework, I ignore it, I end up on the streets yet I want educated people to respect me. Hard work is what gets you the respect of others, and to be honest, no one really wants to work hard. You now say to respect things you don't personally want also, and that's a whole different thing. I didn't mean to come across as rude, sry.

  • goddam that double bass

  • just listened through this whole album for the first time.

And now, the pieces of my conscious being lay shattered

Upon the physical barriers that separate the living realm...

In other words, my brain exploded, and the pieces of it splattered my walls. Hey, wasn't bad for a first shot...

  • Yay everyone's arguing over who's an idiot for liking this band or that band! Awesome! What would youtube be without it! Lol...

But anyway... Cynic is awesome... I don't really know much about technical musicianship, I just know what I like. I like the riffs in this, the vocal melodies.

And to throw in my 2 cents... I don't like Slipknot either. My opinion, but I find them boring. Generic. Doesn't mean the people who listen to them are stupid, though.

  • Uploader, your lyrics are wrong! Nave to breast, which you've put put for the first is correct then you've put Leaf to Breast the next part. 'From my great arteries' is the first line. 'A primal energy WHERE creation is, ON sympathetic chords." Also it's "I fall inside my trance, and tap my heart to test, the harmony within, a merciful connection."

  • Yeah they are ;)

  • Although I still think they're awesome.

  • This song is a whole mix up LOL but its VERY good LOL, doenst sound THAT much death but its good LOL

  • @Thoughts4Childhood

Yeah, nothing by Cynic has ever sounded like death metal to me, I'm not sure why anyone ever called them that...

  • @747823 Their Focus album came out barely 2 years after Sean Reinert and Paul played on Death's Human album, so of course Focus had some death metal elements in it. This album not so much though.

  • @747823 Look up their old demos they recorded through 1988 - 1991.

They used to play Technical Death Metal

  • horrible ool wanna be....f u.

  • god i fucking hate the singer's voice.

  • 6 people are a damn murmur.

  • I'm hardly a metalhead anymore... I guess I'm just an open minded person who loves music in general. Except for mainstream rap/hiphop which is garbage nowadays.

  • @AlexK878 That's how people should be. Recoginizing and admiring good music outside metal does'nt make you less of a metalhead.

  • Why is this not as popular as other bands? Seriously, normally I would bring up how much more technical and musically impressive than mainstream bands, but I understand the average listener doesn't care. But that doesn't even matter, it's so catchy, even if you don't think of it as complex music.

  • being completely honest it took me a year too understand and like this style & ive got to say its a great band

  • I feel like doing math when I jam to this. The contortionist has the same effect but for them I want to do Biology.

  • There are definitely 66,606 views right now

  • Such an amazing band!

  • 6 people are simple-minded pricks who listen to slipknot.

  • @mpauger15 Are you implying that people who listen to slipknot are simple-minded? If so, go fuck yourself arrogant prick. I listen to both cynic and slipknot and I'm proud to do so :)

  • @ufowam

Not only is he implying it,but he is correct.Slipknot sucks, deal with it.

  • @Hexedtemplar Thank you for opening my eyes you great templar of the wired world. Slipknot sucks, and I shall go die in the dark corner of some forgotten place... -_-'

  • @ufowam

Don't be so butthurt, its just a fact.Sorry to break it to you but the fanbase and band is garbage.

  • @Hexedtemplar Individual is showing signs of narrow minded character, Narcissus syndrome and poor understanding of basic English. Further responses from him will now be ignored,

  • @ufowam

Thinks people practice proper english on youtube yet capitalizes after a comma and even ends a sentence with a comma! Omg such a big deal! Furthermore you seem a tad...upset.

  • @ufowam Cool story bro. Please tell it again.

  • @mpauger15 Oh my. I should have guessed that the author of such an unoriginal comment was nothing more than one of these /b/astards followers. Your idea of posting yet another "a certain number of people are retards cuz they pressed the dislike button" comment was simply brilliant. You should have added: "thumbs up if you agree xDDD", it would have then been perfect!

Sur ce, further responses from you will also be ignored.

  • @ufowam sur ce, = u speak french?

  • @germanthrash666 It's my native language :)

  • @ufowam Moi aussi, tu viens de où?

  • @ufowam agreed, both gnarly.

  • @mpauger15 i listen to slipknot you slut :c

  • @mpauger15 I find that insulting.I listen to Slipknot, but "Integral Birth" Is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Albeit,I listen to most things except bvb and botdf, so...

  • @mpauger15 And all 6 are better than the jackass who made the dislike joke.

  • @JoShIzZiE Do yourself a favor and remove that comment before you embarrass yourself further.

  • @JoShIzZiE +1

  • @mpauger15 dude i like slipknot and cynic

  • @mpauger15 Both Cynic and Slipknot are great artists in their own ways.

  • @mpauger15 But that makes you a "simple-minded prick" who listens to Cynic.

  • @mpauger15 I listen to Slipknot and this, maybe just change what I'm listening to depending on my mood?

  • @OscarHracsO if u listen to slipknot u don't understand this music. this is a whole different level of music. slipknot is not bad, don't get me wrong, jordison is a skilled technical player but the music is... normal.

  • @mayoarm11 That's a massive generalisation. So if I listen to Slipknot I have no appreciation for a deeper meaning than "I'm angry"? It's a different type of music; listening to it doesn't put you on a higher level than someone who listens to something else. Don't make the assumption.

  • @OscarHracsO @OscarHracsO hip hop is a "different type of music", and at the same time it's not music at all. Listening and understanding complex music does in fact make me "above" others MUSICALLY (not in general, as people). It does, in fact, mean I have a better understanding and appreciation for complex music. I was being too harsh with the slipknot example, however, they do make decent stuff.

  • @mayoarm11 Did you just say you're above others musically, because you listen to complex music? Are you fcking serious?

I'll just put it this way, every single talented musician who I know well appreciates every single type of music. You can always have your preferences, but never ever compare them to other music, that's just elitist talk. The more music you're able to enjoy and accept, the better, and that is what makes a good listener.

Or should I say "above others musically"...

  • Comment removed

  • @ThrashIsBack100 it's a very low form of music. If you study music, you will understand what I mean. The fact that it's produced in the "music industry" automatically makes it music? rofl nope. How is that a valid point?

  • Comment removed

  • @ThrashIsBack100 I can tell just by the way you talk and spell you're uneducated. Thanks for trying though, bye.

  • dude im done , obviously im not going to keep arguing in this Horrid never ending circle of opinions.

You dont like hip hop? thats fine , it doesnt make it not music . See ya later man , the next comment that replys to this im just gonna ignore it . because you obviously dont know what the fuck your talking about

  • @mayoarm11 slipknot was a start for me. i still like them, but i'm into artists much better now. it's still a pretty bad generalization. anywho, this is a great song

  • @mpauger15 I love this band but slipknot is the shit. Sorry but you need to quit hating. In fact by saying that you're being close-minded. :)

  • @mpauger15

Calling people simple-minded for their musical knowledge, taste or acceptance is simple-minded. Who the fuck cares what others listen to?

It's ironic that it seems like you despise Slipknot for being so much more popular than Cynic, while at the same time you seem to enjoy the feeling of being so intelligent and special that you listen to Cynic.

Well let me tell you this: you dont need shit to listen to Cynic, just patcience, respect and interest.

    But ye Slipknot = lame

  • @mpauger15 I listen slipknot... you're close minded, sorry.

  • @mpauger15

don't decide which band is better.. both are heavy metal - and a real METALer like both...

and i can imagine that you make a lot of slipknot fans angry with your comment, so i think you didn't understand the peacefully message of Cynic.

    What a shame...

  • @mpauger15 fuck you i listen to both as i can actually appreciate what both bands do musically.

  • @mpauger15 I think both bands kick serious dick :)

  • @whyumadnugga

Goblin metal? You made that up didnt you?

  • God I'm so glad I discovered this band.

This song reminds me so much of like a Pinkly Smooth style.

Like some fucking goblin metal or something.

  • @whyumadnugga LMFAO.

  • Comment removed

  • Danny is extremely talented, and plays a very intricate, unique, and complex style. What is actually happening on guitar, and bass is more creative work, than technical work, but the songs overall are fairly complicated. Not as complicated as Cynic, but the complexity is still there. Both Cynic and Tool are creative works, rather than technical. However, I am of the mind that you need some sort of complexity to make such creative art. Both are amazing, and two of the best bands.

  • this is chuck norris's bedtime song.....

  • this song is amazing! i love it!

  • this song+weed=on another dimension.

  • @pesely i dont need weed to be on a journey with this song :D

  • @crazyboyxx Quite frankly, what you prefer in the area of progressive genres comes down to musical taste. Cynic is as innovative as Tool, Isis or Meshuggah in their complexity, drive and weight. However, I prefer Tool over Isis (debatable >_> the two have very, very original styles in progressive metal), I prefer Isis over Cynic, and I prefer Cynic over Meshuggah. It's just what you prefer... progressive is the movement. It IS the innovation in music, right now.

  • @d1mw1t666 cynic is older than all these band tho.... in another sense cynic was the pioneer.

  • @Raghimself In all reality, Tool and King Crimson are the real pioneers. But I don't give any one band credit for the progressive movement. Progressive is progressive, in all of its aspects. It's been a progressive thing in itself... so no one band deserves full credit. But some have impacted the genre more than others. Tool is the godfather of the progressive movement, and King Crimson is its great grandaddy. :P

  • @d1mw1t666 I think Tool impacted prog soundwise more than anything, along with the pure agressiveness without going death metal. Their song structures are not as complex as they sound but the arrangements are very well put together so music sounds like it's more complex - very smart deception targeted at our brain. Cynic is more complex but uses similar style of arrangements in their structures. Thus Tool is more popular because it's more ear/brain friendly. That's my thinking here.

  • @micanut48 Tool's drummer is the reason the band is as complicated as it is. WIthout Danny, Tool wouldn't be nearly as complex as they sound. Tool is that mathematical undertone which gives the band its name, truly.

  • @Raghimself Oh, and Tool has been around mainstream longer than Cynic has... random point.

  • @d1mw1t666 i think your wrong, check your facts i did. cynic -91 tool -93

  • @Raghimself Actually, it's exactly the other way around. Cynic didn't hit the mainstream till 93', with Focus. Tool hit the mainstream in 91', with their EP Opiate, and really innovated the genre in 92', with Undertow. Cynic had a lot of EPs, but they didn't hit mainstream success until their album Focus.

  • @d1mw1t666 everyone hereis forgetting floyd. what is wrong with u all. and rush. and dream theater.

  • @xXMETALRULZ666Xx Floyd isn't technically 'progressive'. Rush definitely is, but they didn't immediately influence the progressive rock genre because it hardly existed in the late 70s/80s. And if we sat down and listed every single band who has effectively influenced prog metal, we'd be here for a while. :P

I was simply pointing out the immediate, and the most impacting of our generations.

  • @d1mw1t666 Also I would say bands such as Neurosis, Meshuggah, Rush, Dream Theater, and Pink Floyd are just as big of an impact. They all just pointed to different parts of the progressive genres. Rush to prog rock, DT to just straight up prog metal, Meshuggah to all the extreme/technical parts of prog, Pink Floyd to all the psychedelic stuff (and many other bands too) Neurosis to all the sludge/post metal . All these bands have been extreme forces of prog music.

  • @Fera713 Like I said, if we sat down and listed every band that has effectively influenced the progressive genre, we'd be here for a while. My only point was who has immediately, and in most ways, impacted the progressive genre. King Crimson, and Tool, are truly who would be considered the 'innovators' in their field in our generation.

  • @d1mw1t666 no u

  • @Fera713 ;)

  • @xXMETALRULZ666Xx Dream Theater!!!!!!!!

  • good as mothers milk

  • @askorbinskakiselina With all the same benefits for infants! :)

  • fusion , i love it, one of the few genres of music that allows for differential creative styling.

  • in space

  • It is quite nice but I don t hear jazz

  • @bassmader listen to other songs it's in some others more.

  • @bassmader You'd have to know a good lot of theory and technique in jazz music, i would assume.

  • how do they get so much emotion out of the riff around 0:33 seconds in that keeps on repeating?

  • Cynic made me care about metal again.

  • anyone know the tempo for this?

  • @rokas1337 Intense.

  • @rokas1337 200 bpm, if you haven't figured it out yet :)

  • I don't hear any Death Metal or Jazz Fusion in this song at all

  • @TheSAEmusic Haha me neither. I guess I'll go back to listening to Ephel Duath and Lye By Mistake for my Jazz/Metal needs.

  • @MrFicction I would say thing band is more of prog >O>

I'll look them up C: Try Sleep Terror

  • @TheSAEmusic Thanks for the recommendation, they are quite good, except I would enjoy them a lot more if they had vocals.

  • @MrFicction Pfft all you need is mad skills and a Pompadour C:

  • @TheSAEmusic Hahaha well said. Btw, check out Animals As Leaders for great instrumental metal if you haven't already. Although Im pretty sure you have lol ;P

  • @MrFicction Oh of course I have

    8 stringed prodigy o;

  • i swear this is the only band of death methal i like and i can't consider it just music, it's magic

  • @juangodfrid Between The Buried and Me, try em out.

  • it sucks that tymon and robin left cynic

  • @phreestylesk8r Ya but we gonna have a new Exivious album!!

  • cynic reminds me of final fantasy. it just sounds like walking through fucked worlds and fighting weird monsters

  • It's stunning how epic this song is in under 4 min. There is so much packed into it's running time.

  • S-P-E-T-T-A-C-O-L-O !!!!

  • Anybody want to hear to something similar ?

Try Dioramic ! They make Art Core.

  • @dumbodeppsau Yep that's a good band too. Black Screen Goodbye is a cool song

  • this is actuly good i was kinda skeptic

    about this

    cuz i listen to slayer

  • 4 people aren't Cyborg Dieties.

  • Champagne? Cynic is the fucking cristal of metal.

  • 4 people don't have their skin arranged.

  • The singer uses so much auto tune when singing... a turn off.

  • @jakii67 Dude, he's been using that since the 90s. It's for effect, not to make his voice better.

  • @barisaxkid Ohh.. FASCINATING

  • @jakii67 opinions, and I understand where your coming from, I used to not like Cynic because of the Synthed Vocals, but now I love it... It just suits it and fits in so well...

Btw, his normal voice without the Synths sounds almost the same... This is more beautiful.

  • @jakii67 thats not auto-tune, its called vocoder.

  • This is a piece of heaven !

  • Cynic is the champagne of metal.

  • @007Pogo quoted for Truth

  • @007Pogo

    for gay people

  • @howycwap Whatever you like dude, if youre gay im ok with that.

  • @007Pogo

    don lieeeeeeeeeek eet

  • @howycwap Same here, but i also dislike homophobes, pretty much all kind of segregasionism.

  • @007Pogo

i was saying champagne is really girly/fancy like this band, well not neccesarily girly or fancy, but its like wannabee metal

  • @howycwap Hmmm no problem dude, just said champagne because Cynic is like some kind of sophisticated metal.

  • @howycwap Like High IQ metal (no offense).

  • @007Pogo

i dunno i wouldnt say its sophisticated, its just....the singing ruins it

  • @howycwap Just a matter of taste.

  • @007Pogo

true. what do you find so technical and sophisticated about it? (im honestly asking not being a dick)

  • @howycwap lol sorry, youtube was under maintenance here, well dude they combine very technical heavy elements, hard drumming, complex arpeggios with free jazz chords, rhythms, just the fact that they can do that without sounding chaotic is enough to impress me, because you can hear very extreme metal with amazing melodies and soundscapes and they do since 1993, also the "robotic" voice makes it unique so is fine for me.

  • @007Pogo

yeah i agree, but i still dislike the vocals, not my bowl of oatmeal.

  • @howycwap No problem, i suggest to check Gordian Knot, is the band from Sean Malone ex Cynic member, that guy have some mad skills and plays with a lot of rock legends.

  • @007Pogo did you just say they are gay???

  • @Kentsuruki Nope.

  • @007Pogo sarcasm just doesnt work over the internet :P

was just meant to be a joke.

  • @007Pogo

I never listened before to this band really nice... but nop, sorry, the champagne is opeth

  • @onionblaster Opeth is magnificent, same goes to Cynic, love em both.

  • @007Pogo I cannot like this hard enough.

  • @007Pogo That sounds queer as hell.

  • @Decripitone Like your boyfriend.

  • @Tjuguskegg666 emofag-posercore? haha, what the hell is that?

I used to like this band, but this album never convinced me at all.

  • Boring

  • I love how this song sends shivers and goosebumps all throughout my body.

  • I've never heard a band come even close to creating a sound as unique as Cynic's.

  • @TheRayven760 so true! Cynic has a one-of-a-kind sound...and it's awesome!

  • Just for the record, in the lyrics, instead of 'Reviving Memories', it should be 'From My Great Arteries', thats what paul says.

  • I was assuming people were just kidding about the " feeling like they're jizzing their pants" when they listen to this, but woah, i felt it. What is up with that?

  • This would be good if they didn't sing.

  • @Tibetzz This would be good if you shut the fuck up.

  • @Inphinitii

I doubt it. Screamo doesn't get better when people are allowed to hear it.

  • @Tibetzz How do you figure?

  • Traced in Air is a progressive metal album that is actually progressive. Wonderful dynamism throughout, lush melodies punctuated with off-beat rhythms and jazz-tinged scales- plus, it doesn't take 70+ minutes to say what it has to say; this is what prog should be. The rest needs another home. One of the few albums that I could listen to on repeat.

  • It's both beautiful and brutal. It's brutiful.

  • @aarongtr180 ahahahah yes! good definition man! XD
