Like BowserDragon I have a vivid memory of the song, but I haven't seen the movie since I was a kid. It's great to see that the film really does exist, and I wasn't just imagining it through a haze of nostalgia.
COOL! I still remember watching this episode and was so inspired by it that shortly after I got married I literally went to Ireland just to see this castle. At the time, (1977) it was not for the public, but was converted to an office of Ministry of Agriculture or something like that. Thanks for posting it.
If i recall right, during the filming of this...which took place at loch ness...one of the fake monsters broke loose and ended up at the bottom of the loch
OMG! I remember seing this on CBS Saturday morning when I was about 9 or 10. Now I'm 45, and I just remembered the phrase Johnston Monster this morning. I even remembered that song (the melody, anyway) after all these years. Thanks so much!
haha me an my brother watched this with two friends, course we then created our own monster from ummm bin-liners and wood to float in morecambe bay lol! id love to see it again.

You are thinking of the movie, The Private Lives of Sherlock Holmes which had a scene at Loch Ness and the monster did end up sinking....

I often confused this for Disney's similar The Secret of Strawberry Cove.
