People mock the rapture, but they do not mock the situation our world is in. Everyone knows that something is changing, that something is coming. There is fear running rampant because we've reached a point where things are getting worse and no one knows what to expect.

I have been hearing about the rapture and that it is happening at this time and that time and has NOT happened. christianity uses fear to get people to follow a non-existing god/jesus. Case and point the rapture video's are nothing but fear-based...it is a psychological game that christianity plays. Another commment is that the "supposely" stated that the rapture would happen before that generation past well it didn't..once again. Your jesus can't even get it right!
@62wyo The Rapture is disputed even among Christians and there is no set date in the Bible where such an event would occur. It has nothing to do with a psychological or fear. Trying to set a date for the Rapture is just plain foolishness. For myself, I don't care if you become Christian or not. And just saying you're a Christian does not make you a Christian. So the people you keep referring to, may not be Christians at all.

I know atheists that have come to Christ and while I was never an atheist, I can definitely say I was an agnostic. Being Christian does not exempt me from experiencing the suffering of this world. It is simply a matter being prepared for what is likely to begin happening in the near future given the current economic and political climate.

@AtheistPowerlifter The gnostic gospels are not considered to be inspired. The resurrection has to be believed on faith. Some say it did happen, others dismiss the power of God and say there's no possible way. It takes more faith to believe that we are here in this Universe by accident than it does to believe in God and the resurrection.

@AtheistPowerlifter Yes, I always expected evidence too. While I was never a true atheists, I was definitely agnostic. The fact of the matter is this, I have reason to believe there is a God. No one stuck a gun to forehead and forced me to believe in God or else. The reason I said many people have closed minds is because they are unwilling to let go of their intellectual knowledge and consider the possibility that God exists.

@dan316316316 Mocking can sometimes be a good thing. I was christian once, and was mercilessly mocked in a friendly way by my buddies (both best friends are marine biologists). This led me to actually read the bible, quran, to investigate and really think about what I believed and why.
Reading the bible and looking at a world map of religious demographic distribution made me realize I was atheist, and was only a christian due to foolish fear of "hell", which was drilled into me as a child.
@AtheistPowerlifter Jesus does not advocate forcing our faith on others. And alot of Christians don't understand this. Yes, I had some drilling into my head as a child too by the Catholic church and that is why I avoided having anything to do with Bible for most of my adult life. The faith I have now was not forced on me, it was a willful decision, first you have to at least be willing to believe God and then you have to be willing to invite Jesus into your heart.
@AtheistPowerlifter And that's all it really takes. God extends an invitation to us. Salvation is a free gift from God, you just have to ask. That is of course, that you believe there is a God in the first place. Atheists do not believe there is a God. Though many atheist have a better understanding of Christianity than many so-called Christians do. There is a difference between declaring yourself a Christian and being a Christian, It has nothing to do with “being good”.

It could be argue that Christians need to take steps to survive a crisis themselves first in order to be able to help others survive that same crisis. And I'll be making that point in a future article. Christians are God's servants on Earth and we are here to do His work.

As far as the Rapture goes, no one knows when (or if for some) its going to happen. It has been suggested that there are some 30 million Christians in the US today though 160 million proclaim to be Christian. So if the rapture were to occur, there will be plenty of other so-called Christians around saying that's not what happened.

Heaven is the presence of God. Yall hate heaven cuz ur all at war with God. The forgiveness of sins starts the process of reversing this ridiculous attitude that is ruining ur life. It happened to me. I hated God but then I finally reealized that all my misery was my fault. And so I asked God to take my life and do whatever He wanted with it. Dusty is so right on. I have been hearing about the rapture and that it is happening at this time and that time and has NOT happened. christianity uses fear to get people to follow a non-existing god/jesus. Case and point the rapture video's are nothing but fear-based...it is a psychological game that christianity plays. I know atheists that have come to Christ and while I was never an atheist, I can definitely say I was an agnostic. Being Christian does not exempt me from experiencing the suffering of this world. Some say it did happen, others dismiss the power of God and say there's no possible way. It takes more faith to believe that we are here in this Universe by accident than it does to believe in God and the resurrection.

No one stuck a gun to forehead and forced me to believe in God or else. @dan316316316 Mocking can sometimes be a good thing. I was christian once, and was mercilessly mocked in a friendly way by my buddies (both best friends are marine biologists). This led me to actually read the bible, quran, to investigate and really think about what I believed and why.
Reading the bible and looking at a world map of religious demographic distribution made me realize I was atheist, and was only a christian due to foolish fear of "hell", which was drilled into me as a child.

As far as the Rapture goes, no one knows when (or if for some) its going to happen. It has been suggested that there are some 30 million Christians in the US today though 160 million proclaim to be Christian. So if the rapture were to occur, there will be plenty of other so-called Christians around saying that's not what happened.

Heaven is the presence of God. Yall hate heaven cuz ur all at war with God. The forgiveness of sins starts the process of reversing this ridiculous attitude that is ruining ur life. It happened to me. I hated God but then I finally reealized that all my misery was my fault. And so I asked God to take my life and do whatever He wanted with it. That was the greatest day of my life and Ill never forget it.
Since then it just gets better and better with the presence of God and His joy and peace.
