Depak, I used to read all of your books and as great as they would make me feel for a few days I would always go into depression again and didn't understand why your books and other things I did didn't cure me. Well, it was because i was learning about a different Jesus, a Jesus that is not what the Bible teaches. Dr. Chopra is a teacher and I believe his job is to fan the spark of truth we already have in us. The proper context is in Matthew 5:39, in that it says, But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. The proper translation on (evil) is, an evil person. It's talking about being friendly to an evil person when they hate you and not to retaliate. Nothing about the shadow of evil. We as humans are all radically depraved and need a saviour, Jesus Christ.

I believe that evil is the same as negativity.

And by saying "Resist not evil", Jesus is saying that one shouldn't focus on the negative(evil), by thinking of what you "don't want" and trying to prevent it from happening. Instead you should focus on what you "do want", and thus causing it to happen.

I like that you call it a shadow. I've worked many years in psych wards & seen lots of tormented souls. What strikes me often is that Fear is like a common factor. If it is violents, hatred, sorrow, desparation and so forth. Fear is a very strong factor to wake "the shadow" in a way that it dominates the person. From personal experience, I surmise that "evil" = fear. It hurts my body, paralyzes my mind and shuts off my expansiveness, creativity and knowingness (or "certainty" in psychic jargon).

I think most people focus on "evil" or low vibration frequency too much .they fear "a Satan" who is in reality just a weak little ant you can squish so easily in a second with just one step....I know you don't do that its very obviously how your focus is on the beautiful, the good, the powerful love energy and everything that is in high vibrational frequency. People just need to a little gentle push in the right direction...as you sweet one, already do!

My understanding is that: it is enough to be aware of "evil". After that, and only if one wishes to expend the imagination and energy, the ideal is to be a force for that which is understood to be beneficial and personally evolutionary.

God can not look on (recognize) evil.If something doesn't exist to God, it doesn't exist. I have been taught and am satisfied, however, that to fight against "Evil" is a sure gurantee of perpetuating it.

As I believe it, the only evil is our selfishness: greed, lust, anger, etc. The selfish motives made change and the level of selfishness may manifest itself differently, but it is all the same.

I have always struggled with this issue. The Secret says that we should not fight against anything but only create more joy (while we basically ignore the evil and don't do anything to combat it). However, what do we do when it comes to something like governmental abuse? The Secret proclaims that we should never protest anything but doing nothing can seem extremely fruitless sometimes.Can anyone here please shed some light on this for me? Ernest Holmes stated that evil does not exist, but only in the minds of Man. And yeah, that we do have free choice, or will. A 24/7 choie do we entertain the bad thought or do we choose the better one. Not entertaining any thoughts (attaching) is maybe a more efficient way to avoid evil. I've come to see that this universe is created from opposites...positive and negative energy. All that manifested from this is composed of positive and negative energy. If good exists, evil must also exist. Humans are capable of being good one minute and evil the next. I think our job is to balance these opposites within us. Balance is the key. To resist evil is to admit it's a real entity unto itself which suggests duality. Of course, it is in our dual nature to see duality. But the "force" of evil rises when the mind or ego decides to recognize it as such. So it is a choice. There's that free will for ya!

I believe that if and when we are really facing and looking at our own shadow side- evil side-dark side...then the light that falls upon it will automatically and simultaneously chase away the darkness. I am study political science right now, and throughout history it has been common to assume people are innately evil. I'm beginning to believe that this is the source of evil, the simple assumption that we are not devine. Compounded with the misunderstanding of who we really are, we cannot begin to understand the true ways to deal with this world. It seems we unarm ourselves with these preconceived notions.
