Such a great earnest youthful edgy performance...despite the drummer having problems with the odd timing. Compare this to the lame performance (by comparison) on Letterman years and years later. Rock needs youth.
@padiddledidamy - I saw this tour a couple months later. He started the show almost like a children's show, first by singing to a huge teddy bear and then by saying that we were going to play a game called "find the band". He put on the vest and picked up a light which he shown around the hall until he would stop on a person. It would be a band member who would turn a light on and walk to the stage where they put a vest on and picked up their instrument. Totally weird and wonderful fun.
