Just record yourself giving YOUR presentation [with a Wal-mart C-270 HD webcam $29 or Logitech's BEST C-910 1080p HD webcam for about $65], send me the slides and audio track
- 48 hours later for only $249 you'll have a Professionally produced Video to use on YouTube, your web page, on CD, DVD or in email
edit: googled it, and it can be taken apart farly easily, and the focus is adjustable in the housing. it has a traditional focus ring. the c500, c270-310 also. u lose warranty of course. obviously logitech locked the focus to promote their auto focus cams... the other 2 question still apply :)
hi, i hav 3 question:) 1.id use the c500 occasionally for "surveillance", recording car traffic in front of our house. i understand that its fixed focus is optimized for close objects. how bad would it blur out farther objects? like 20-30 metres, in daylight(!!). is this only a faint effect, or it is well noticable, like having a lower quality, plastic lens webcam? 2. what is the highest resolution in 30fps? 3. is there resolution steps between 640x480 and 1280x720? thx for advice :)
@fatjerkyz check out my channel for the video "how to record HD video using your hd webcam" if your webcam isn't capable of using 30fps @ higher resolution, you can only reduce resolution in order to record @ 30fps.
@M6051557 well, i am not too sure about that. I might do some test and post it on youtube whenI have time.
But in the video, I am using 720p mode, its only 15fps, so I think you are goona notice things get blurry sometimes. If you lower the res to 640x480 or (640x360), you can use it @ 30fps, by doing so, you should be able to get better results.
My logitech c600 also make the lines !! its so bad ... i dont know how to remove the lines ?? if someone know how to make it better ?? please Comment :D
@TheToXxi If you lower the fps from 30fps to 15fps (720p mode) , you might notice lot less lines... Not sure about your c600, but at least that worked for me.
s5500 made me dizzy i dont know if it was just me but me personally i like the c600 if there wasn't the line's and it has much better sound. btw you should see the c510 thats the one im planning on buying this week and ill do a review.
I'm looking for a good webcam for talking on skype, not doing youtube videos. So I'm pretty sure that all three of the webcams you reviewed here would do a good job, but I'm convinced...the C500 is perfect. :)
Thanks, great side by side comparisons. I like how sharp the C600 looks (don't know if it's because you're a little closer), but those distortions are a deal breaker.
so are you saying that on the C600 if you keep 1280x720 720p but drop to 15 fps the viewing area can become wider like the C500 at the same res and fps?
I like your videos man. Subbed.

There is a problem for me that i couldn't solve this far with the C500.
Whenever I start its software, there is only 360p available. The dropdown-menu contains just 320x180 & 360p... I would like to record at 720p.
Drivers and software are up to date and I'm running Win7 64 Bit.
Do you have an idea what went wrong?

@kbuss10 hi there, the highest res in 30fps I believe is 640x480, and yes there are a few res between 640x480 and 1280x720.
You can do 768x 480, 800x450, 800x500,800x600, 864x480,960x720. Two of the common ones are usually 800x600(4:3) and 864x480 (16:9) . Thanks.

the lines is because of the white balance. during daylight, it will be better. Not under artificial light

You always sit close to the cam in your videos, but what does happen if you move maybe 2 or 3 meters away from the cam? (C500)
I want to make some Sport-Vids in my room with quick moves (boxing and stuff), can you see every movement or will it be very blurry?

Thanks for this Test, i'll buy c500 right now. You said S500 to the last Cam you tested, it's confusing, but i'm sure you meant c500.
But is the cam also OK for filming situations not happening right in front of it, but more in the background?
M6051557 1 year ago
@M6051557 yeah I did mean the c500. Now what do you mean by this
"the cam also OK for filming situations not happening right in front of it, but more in the background?"

Barryms0083 1 year ago
@Barryms0083 yeah, if $10 different isnt a big deal for you, I'd say go with c600.
