Buddy is one of the best guitarist that you've never heard of. Granted, Eric is a talented , highly acclaimed and revered musician, but not only does Buddy have the chops and a pure, basic tone that Eric can't get without pedalling...BW is also blessed with a soulful, gritty singing voice...check out some of the other BW videos on YT and his voice is so cool...Buddy is my guitar man!
Buddy isn't the one with the worried look on his face, and there is no way Clapton could ever dream of matching that tone, and mind you Buddy plugs strait into a Dr Z no pedals at all.
@superdeathbang Yeah. Buddy is just in a different league technically than eric but eric has cranked out soooo many awesome songs that he annihilates buddy on songwriting. Erics songwriting heyday was any before 1980!
this sounds like the days of the old Flamingo.... the allnighter in London. Yes those were the days, and these guys were where it was at, even then, and just think we were all young!
Having lived through the years of John Mayall and all the band line ups from 63 to today,, i was there this night and it was sheer class from Buddy, EC lost his when he joined Cream for me, Although stil one of the best he lost that original edge that shows on the Bluesbreaakers album.
I don't mind saying even if slow hand did go for the juglar Iv'e known Buddy for over 30 years and because he is better each time I see him I can't say he has reached his peak. Slow hand might need to up his game if or when they meet again.
