Government shooting at their own people is not something recent. It's common in middle east. Dictators have been tightly hold on to power by making one common enemy; THE ENEMY IS WEST AND ISRAEL. The people of middle east have been fed hatred and false information for decades. Religion is the driving force in these places. The dictators use this to control ignorant public. People forget that most of the oil produced in ME goes to the west and arabs earn their living mainly from oil exports.
