One final comment (damn youtube's forced character count): OC ReMix kicks major ass. Even the likes of Jeremy Soule (the guy who did the music for Icewind Dale, Guild Wars, Morrowind, Oblivion and many others) have graced the site and submitted work.

Gaming music can often be as great as any film score or instrumental piece out there, if not better. Unfortunately it goes unnoticed by society at large because videogames are subject to a particular stigma as being either primitive, "nerdy" or worse, designed for only young people in mind(this particular antiquated idea is fading fast with more mature and thought provoking titles on the market at least).

I suspect in the decades to come we will find VG's to be taken a lot more seriously.

I've always strongly felt that videogames should be taken seriously as a distinguished art form. Some games have plot lines and characters that have far more depth and scope to them than all but the best films, and are on par with many works of classic literature.

Games are evolving graphically as well, and I believe that some games should be taken as seriously for their visual art as any piece of art displayed in a museum that happened to be painted by hand.
