Hello Orkney fellow...I climbed the Ward hill when i was 14,in the mid-eighties,on a grey and windy summers day.I saw nothing from the top as it was so cloudy. The atmosphere was really creepy, and i felt a presence their that totally freaked me oot!i bolted doon the hill faster than a hare and ended up in the bog by sandy loch.Great to see the footage, thanks hosta8.
Brilliant to see this. Far more crumbly and stoney, and thus potentially more hazardous at the top, than I imagined. And sand, wae writing in it, at 1,000 feet plus above sea level! Viewers should note that that the rabbit at 1:20 is at least 30 feet tall! Sky looks moody and gloomy later in this clip, the sea stays blue! I must get up there mesel, despite the scary rabbits and gulls! Thanks for posting this.
Beautiful - but scary. That's an arctic hare at 1.20. If you walk in Hoy in the winter you will see them with their white winter fur.
