  • thank you very much for showing this! i was having trouble with the outro!

  • what are the chords when you get to the "anything other than yes is no" part?

any help would be greatly appreciated! i'm singing this song at my friend's cotillion =D

  • look up "The Hurt" by john mayer. it's unreleased, but those are the same chords/rhythm.

  • The quick change after the A before the F#m in the chorus is an E/G#...

  • damn dude... your chorus... the second quick change after the A chord? before F#m? sounds truly terrible..

try, well USE X-5-4-0-X-4 with your thumb playing the G# bass note.

it's E7 or something like that. but other than that, good job figuring it out!

  • yea thats the one chord i was having trouble on. i know he definitely holds the G# bass note but couldnt figure out the rest. thanks!

  • glad to help! :) keep it up!

  • dude im sorry but i tried your suggestion it sounds nothing like it man...the one this guy in the video used seems correct to me

  • are you serious? I'm sorry, but the E7 i suggested is used i.e. in betterman. And in this video the chord he plays has dissonance, Its not even a chord. If you don't still believe. Watch John play it, maybe he plays the song correctly? Right exactly on 2:04 in the hotel cafe clip you can see it clearly.

  • yeah man i understand what you are saying, i saw the hotel cafe clip, but the way you put the tab, i tried playing it and it doesn't sound right. What this guy is playing, even though its not a chord it sounds alot more closer, i mean thats just my opinion, but i have to figure out what the exact chord is...thanks anyway bro peace!

  • the reason why it sounds different than johns is maybe because he probably doesnt play the d-string open and he plays it with his electric.. but believe me... theres nothing more to figure out. tune your guitar if thats the problem. but the chord is correct as you saw it played by John.. How could you deny that?
