That whole "dark skin was a curse" thing was just for that part in time. God made their skin darker so that the two families or tribes could distinguish between them...it doesn't mean that dark skin is bad. Everyone is special and is loved by God. and it also teaches somewhere in the book of mormon that each person will not be judged because of the sins of their fathers...we are EACH judged SEPARATELY because of what we do.
