By the way, I bought the newest version from GE the X500 for the nominal price of $123 - through a one day sale. Since they were out of stock 15 minutes into the opening door of the sale - Macy's [the awesome store they are..] offered me a $50.00 customer satisfaction gift card to purchase once the machine was restocked. I had to wait for the machine to be restocked twice because they kept being sold out. Happy Shopping - Macy's has this camera! Espot or Isopt electronics vending machine.

This camera is awesome! I had to wait for the ispot machine at my local Macy's to fully stock their vending machine twice, before I got to finally purchase one. The wait was well worth it because the pictures I took when my niece performed in the Christmas - Nutcracker 2011 were amazing. People were all just asking me about my camera because the pictures were great. By the way, the camera also comes with carrying case and CD to album your pictures on your computer screen or edit them. Nice.

Nobody seems to notice the team behind this camera. It is full of "experts" out here making fun of GE digital cameras. But they don't know (or forgot) a very important aspect: a lot of members of the team behind this camera are ex Konica Minolta employes! When you buy a GE camera it's almost like buying a beter Konica Minolta camera. All those experts also tend not to notice how closer is this camera look with an original Konica Minolta Z5 or Z6 for example. Now you know why.

Yes, now they make digital cameras. Mostly, they only specialized in home appliances/electronics. Now they are dabbling around in and trying their hand with digital cameras, and according to user reviews, not doing a very good job at it. (Of course, those reviews are done with "photowhores" who like their cameras that cost half a million bucks, have 100's of features they will never use, and to be 100% perfect and made out of titanium steel and Chuck Norris.)

I just bought the new version, the X500 (16mp) a few days ago and it turned out really great for the price.

I'm not a fool to expect DSLR performance from this camera. But I expected better compared to a compact digicam, and this expectations were met. The main reason I bought this is for the 15x Optical zoom (plus the digital zoom).

It also came with these freebies: 4 disposable AND 4 re-chargeable batteries plus the charger, camera case, a flimsy strap, 4GB SD card and a tiny tripod (",)

So its a point and shoot with an SLR body... trying to trick the consumer into thinking they're getting something with SLR capability? Yes.. I think so. The video quality SUCKS and those features can be found on plenty of cameras with pocket size bodies... pssh. spare me.

@anbmjj it costs 70£ .. anyone who thinks becuase it llooks like a slr its going to be that good for cheap wouldnt know how to use a slr anyway lmao.. ig ot one and tis pretty dope.. really good for your money and actually better than the point and shoots ive used.. although like you siad its nothing like a slr.

@adhdgfx Yeah, I figured. I would buy it if I wanted to throw cash around (regardless of how cheap it is) but I don't want to so I'll stick with my new camera. (Canon point and shoot, DEFINITELY better than this)
