Its a little late, but if someone is in a parry stance you can do a jump attack. They can't parry those. Also you can currently kindle a bonfire to give you 10 flasks by sacrificing a humanity while human, The misleading thing is that the one in firelink shrine was kindled to begin with.

@RynKen Damn that's two things I had no idea about, thanks for posting this! The pre-kindled bonfire is definitely confusing. The jump attack thing is going to be really useful.

@nickplaysvideogames Hopefully a tip that helps, while armor in this game is just as important as a solid strike. the main thing you want to keep in mind is maneuverability, the more equipment you have slotted the more you are weighed down "with the exception of some special case items" armor and weapons almost all have weight. and this weight "depending on your weight load" will reduce your maneuverability. Using lighter armor with a stable shield and a fast weapon may sometimes be better.

I don't know if someone else told you this already, but if you let him kill the woman who gives you upgraded estus flasks, you'll be able to kill him later and get his armour.

@sorox94 Oh man, that actually clears up my confusion a LOT, thank you. So basically: Either kill him immediately and he doesn't kill the estus flask woman OR let him kill her and then murder him later for his armor? That seems clear enough.

that battle was awesome. i think you did a decent job considering you were learning from scratch. You were very good on defense toward the end. During the early parts i was screaming at the screen that you should attack before your weapon enhancement ran out, but you were no doubt right to be so defensive. Good job.

@colorconnection Thanks! I finally started to see holes in his defense at which point it became a matter of developing enough skill to exploit them. The eventual victory was very rewarding.
