  • Makes a great clothes dryer too !

  • Weather-Proof, yet built on an untreated wood frame.

    Fail.

Should've used something else for the base. The rest was well thought out!

Put a rotator on it, and get stations from all around.

    Overall, good work!

  • what song is playing in this video?

  • 4 way slplitter but 2 in ,4out? or all out?

  • Can I use aluminum foil as a reflector if I attach it to the back?

  • No amps, I have used tham and they help, but it's over kill here, I get all the channels now.

  • I think the signal would've been better if you used a CM JOIN-TENNA instead of a splitter. Are you using a pre-amp or normal amplifier?

  • Did this antenna give you better reception than a single coat hanger antenna?

  • YES, but just around 25% more, so I gave up after the triple version!

  • hey man you should try marketing this you could make some major money

  • I would just blow the money on more antenna : )

  • Thank you to share

  • looks Pretty cool! how far are you from the TV stations you are Getting?

  • 20-30 miles

  • does the big wire screen touch the antenna somehow if so tell me how to hook it up. also tell me what it does!!! please reply

  • No it does not touch, it acts as a reflector.

  • Is it posible to connect 4 tv`s to a single antenna like this one????????

  • Yes use a 4 way splitter, you may or may not need an amp also. Try with just the 4 way splitter 1st

  • Search on google ' stacking antennas '

  • Thanks for sharing this video. I understand that you are comibining both antenna's signals pickup into one coax cable running down to your TV. Do you think that i can use a coax diplexer instead of coax splitter? Appreciate your reply.

  • pvc pipe, not wood

  • try hooking them together with twin lead (300ohm cable) it has much lower loss

  • I agree. Also, run the 300ohm into a 4:1 balun (known as a 300ohm to 75ohm transformer). You will then have the impedance that the TV or tuner is looking for.

  • dude be scanning some serious channels. I'm envious.

  • So I guess you have no need for VHF.

To be honest I do not see how grandma can figure this out when the switch comes. Only recently have I discovered that 5-3 can actually be on UHF 35 which seems to be what most prefer as I guess it is easier to get UHF on DTV.

However to my sadness I have learned that one of the main chans I watch is in the VHF band. So it will require a hack of a Rabbit ear antenna to work.

  • And what range are you able to get on the 8 element antenna?

  • What is the connector that combines the two cables together?

  • It's a cable splitter.

  • I'm guessing that the chicken wire is being used as a reflector like CM4228 Antenna. So the chicken wire maybe stapled to the back part of the ant.

  • bsr2002, your right. I heard about this method before. It actual helps...

  • Detailed instructions please, does the "chicken wire" touch any of the elements or does it not touch, how is it attached. is the part that connects both leads together a 1 to 2 signal splitter? or something else? a combiner?

Looks very nice, did the dish idea help any?

    any more improvements?

do you think adding an amplifier would help?

Thanks for posting your homemade antenna looks very much like one of the top performing antennas sold at amazon

  • It' s awesome !

    Smart move !

Thanks for the helpful posting !
