Thats a Spartan not a KME. Relating to the video, THATS how you approach an intersection when the engine has a red light...effing STOP! Great work by their driver.
Yea, i realized that when i went to Toronto fire website, you have to admit that Spartans and KME have a very similar look to them. ( i know trucks like seagrave and peirce are in a different class and have there own look.)
P.S. The other newer Toronto apparatus are using the now obsolete Whelen "Executor" siren. It was the competition to the eQ2b. That mechanical tone is still available on some Whelen siren amps.
Pump 226 is using a siren from Federal Signal. It's the electronic version of the Q2b. And it's being used the way it should be in this clip. "Manual/cycle mode" this way it sounds similar to the original version the mechanical Q2b. This Q2b is the king of sirens and has been in use for around 55 years. When the eQ2b is used in the "Auto" mode it sounds like garbage in my opinion! Hope this helps..
The siren & air horn remind me of engine 51

Um no, he used it appropriately. Late night, loud horn, you do the math. Doesn't look like he needed it to me going through that intersection either.

The Q Siren Old skool: a quieter air-raid siren on crack. Theres a saying: It ain't a fire truck unless it's got a "Q"
