  • Not easy in the summer finding caches not alone winter lol great trek

  • @medicjimr thanks. i knew these ones were listed as winter friendly but one more storm and the second one would have been buried. sounds like you do some caching too?

  • @gcstorm1 a little I have to keep reminding my daughter to watch flipping stones and such so she doesn't get bit by a copperhead or rattler .

  • @medicjimr hmmm...i sometimes forget how lucky we are up here.

  • Damn beavers eh?...hehe! Well at least they make good pelts. Good you made it out ok :o) Nice scenes. That's a lot of snow!

  • @Ggreenvideos yes i think i might try and get me a pair of beaver pelt mittens ;)

i was talking to the cache owner this evening & he said that when he hid the cache, the water was to the top of the dam...i'm glad it wasn't that deep when i broke though or i'd still be there.

  • as usual the video looks great Roger!

  • @brianmshaw thanks.

  • Sink or swim - that's gotta be just a wee bit of a wake up! Can't imagine the feeling! Great video shots! Really nice to have such a "bright light" for your snowshoe hike. Wished I had one of those!

  • @wawhiker only one foot broke through at first and i fell against the tree...leaning awkwardly against it. i put pressure on my "dry" foot and it broke through but at least i was now standing on two feet and had my balance. my wife was not too impressed when i told her...all she could picture was me stuck in the ice with a pack of coyotes around me ;)

  • @wawhiker Oh no - not more coyotes! Gotta love our ladies keeping us sensible : ) !

  • Did you have someone else filming you? It doesn't look like your arm is extended to hold a camera. Thanks for sharing, I have a snowshoe caching video I will be posting this week.

  • @mngeocaching no i was alone...i use an Ultra-Pod II on the end of my trekking pole. it's a mini tripod with a velcro strap. the strap allows me to not only use it on the end of my trekking pole but also allows it to be straped to a tree, post, etc...so that i don't have to carry a full size tripod. another option is the stickpic but you wouldn't have as many options as with the ultra-pod. i've subscribed to your channel...great caching videos!

  • ... Mr. Beaver's gonna get you ;o)

Good you didn't break in deeper - thanks for taking us along. Beautiful scenery! Tim

  • @steintanz i was very thankful it wasn't deeper...i had a tough enough time getting out of it as it was, with snowshoes on!

  • great stuff!

  • @thecyr thanks...the conditons were perfect for shoeing and videography

  • thanks for sharing

  • @dragonflyhiker i was hoping we'd get out on another group shoe this winter.
