  • Or jsut go to a surplus store and buy either an A.L.I.C.E or a CPF-90. Everything else is either too small or just does'nt get the job done.

  • LOL $9 dollars an hour to do what?? Stand around I never had a person help me in a store I always seem to know more then them. do you think after work they go home and test the products there selling There lucky if they can even afford them! These dealers are also selling online so why are there online prices just as much? You people are crazy and mad because use lost your jobs selling womens shoes.I never had a problem buying online stop making stuff up and Go get a Real JOB!

  • Getting the expertise of the local outfitter, taking his time and using his resources, then buying online is why so many specialty outdoor stores went out of business last year. The end result being that you are stuck with huge online stores that can't provide you with proper customer service, and no local resources when you need help. But hey, at least you got out with out paying tax! Jkeys is right, ask your local outfitter, more times than not they can match a competitors pricing.

  • The XYZ salesperson has the chance to help that customer make the best buying decision and if they are worth their salt will make a fair number of sells. Figure out how to profitably assist customers instead of calling them :asses"

  • If a person is in the market for a pack and they enter XYZ store that sells packs...then the XYZ salesperson has an opportunity to make a sell. If the customer goes to ebay and finds the same pack used for half price then it's competition. If an online retailer is selling the same pack much cheaper than XYZ that's also competition.

  • Speaking as a retailer myself, the reason you MIGHT pay more at a store is BECAUSE of the hands-on experience and expertise of the staff. If you are really concerned about getting the best price, ask if the retailer will honor competitor pricing. The most reputable places should honor the best price on the market if they want your business. I do! It is real ass behavior to go take up someone's time, pick their brain, play with their stuff, and then not give them a chance to get the sale.

  • i can stand that way hahaha

  • im actually looking for like a nato rucksack, for essentials only

  • thats one of my favorite tricks,

get the guy in the store to show you around then ebay it , haha

  • Research in a store. Then buy online. Cool!

But it won't work for REI brand equipment.

  • Nice.First you get advice in a store and than

    you buy somewhere else......
