  • Actually if you listen closely I think he calls him a cunt.

  • Second time ken used the word loudmouth

  • Great action, though i actually felt a bit sorry for ken here.He never came across as somebody who would intentialy rip someone off.He was trying his best to sort things out,and it had nothing to do with the others who were sticking their noses in.

  • the word bastard reminds me of Game of Thrones :)

  • lmao at jack offering to take Kenneth "outside"

  • jim mcdonald and ken barlow share the same gran child haha lol

  • jim is sound

  • right left right, yes mike. bang him

  • ken barlow 1-mike baldwin 1

  • omg did Ken just call Mike a bastard

  • @ellenkingsley Yeah he did

  • @1Thompsonmusic I agree, it's swamped with far too many trivial characters now, who just don't have the same appeal or longeivity as the long standing characters such as Rita. Five episodes a week is waaaay too many. Tune in now and you could just as easily be watching any of the other soaps. I doubt today's stories will be remembered in years to come. I'm boycotting the show at present until storylines improve.

  • LOL so hard at Jim getting rid of Mike at 1:22

  • LOL at Jim getting Mike out of the way

  • theyre not aloud to say bastard on tv?

  • @maloney4lfc In these days it was aloud in Coronation Street and Eastenders dont hear it now for some reason

  • @TheBryan61383 They do actually still use it on occasion :P

  • @maloney4lfc I think it's deemed acceptable as long as it's used in context. I think they must have a quota of so many swear words per episode lol! Another example was the episode featuring Alan Bradley's trial. Rita was determined to give evidence, and said "when I've finished in that witness box, the whole world'll know what a bastard Alan Bradley really is!"

  • @FatknackerMacca haha! i thought it would of been a hang mans rope for the producer

  • @maloney4lfc It was 1990

  • @maloney4lfc

It's a word that was very rarely used in Coronation Street, and still is. I think it was used to emphasise Ken's hatred for Mike.

  • @maloney4lfc it is aloud bastard is an actual word for having a child before marriage people just use it wrong

  • Good to see Jim getting involved at the end :)

  • @CI5AgentSweeps Yeah it was

  • Pause at 1:10. Ken'sleg in the air, lol

  • jim mcdonald acting as peace maker lol

  • just to listen to vera, this is what makes corrie, the verbals; loudmouths! Yeh , thinks he's clever him, yeah clever enough to leave his wife and child, thats how clever he is!! fab!

  • @paulref11 That was classic Vera and Ken's reaction, "I beg your pardon"Lol.

  • Mike fuckin owned ken!

  • Nice one Jim!

  • Jim McDonald was only 31 in this clip

  • @thefranksterboy Really always thought he was older, or do you mean the actor Charles Lawson was 31

  • @MeBenHalpin

I meant the actor Charles Lawson was 31

  • @thefranksterboy Right got you, im thinking he's older or playing an older part, cos of having grown up sons Steve and Andy, who must have been 15/16 at this time.

  • @MeBenHalpin

Charles Lawson and Beverley Callard are actually playing a couple in their 30's.

  • @thefranksterboy Yeah i know, since we last spoke, read on Corriepedia website, that Liz had the twins when she was like 16/17, when Jim was in the army, so suppose they were like 34/35 here.

  • @MeBenHalpin

Jim McDonald was my favourite charachter on Coronation Street

  • @thefranksterboy Jim was alright at times, until someone crossed him or he had drink and then he just got plane nasty.

  • @MeBenHalpin thats true indeed he became a major character when he started beating up his wife liz and he murdered he was a brillant character at the same time too

  • @JohnAdams198805 Yeah that's right, it was horrorfying when he hit Liz and became obsessed with her, even after she took out an injuction on him, that was the more nastier side of Jim's character and when he beat bad boy Jez to death years later, in revenge for Steve, though think lot of viewers sided with him on that occasion.

  • @MeBenHalpin yeah thats true glad jim beat the hell out of jez for the way he treated steve and for the way he beat him too jim had every right to go after him nice to see jez get his come upins too jez was a brillant 2rd behind hillman

  • @JohnAdams198805 Jim just went mental there and really gave the bad boy his comeuppance.

  • @MeBenHalpin hes a good character i think my favourite corrie characters are ken barlow mike baldwin jim mcdonald jack duckworth and vera the the platts

  • @JohnAdams198805 Some great choices there my friend, as they are all real household names in the history of the show, miss Jack and Vera especially, as they were an unforgettable duo.

  • They should've let Ken get a hit in.

  • @88tommyb666 Think that was the producers letting Mike get his long awaited revenge for Ken punching him in the factory 4 years earlier in 86.

  • @MeBenHalpin Did Mike and Ken have any more fights apart from this one and the one in the factory in 1986? And if so, who won?

  • @88tommyb666 Few scraps and exchange of words, but these two fights were the most famous one's, especially the 86 one where Ken found out Mike was dating Susan his daughter, marched over to the factory and knocked him out with one punch, its actually on youtube.

  • Has Ken ever won a fight ?

  • @waynehamilton well, he Knocked out Mike in 1986

  • @waynehamilton He punched Mike in 86 at the factory, but think our Mr Barlow has been on the recieving end more times.

  • I Swear mike says 'not this time' just before hitting Ken. x

  • @xoxprincessnikix0x Yes he did say that. About 4 year ago before this episode ken went over to mikes factory and hit him with one punch for going out with his daughter susan. Thats why mike said you will not hit me this time

  • Yeah it was the friday i remember wacthing it but i cant remember it being in April i know it was around about near the spring time

  • I remember this - broadcast on Monday 30th April 1990.

  • @Kevinasp It was the friday

  • @TheBryan61383 27th April 1990 then.

  • Mike could fight!!

  • Remember this episode as if it was yesterday.

  • Throughout the video you can see Liz and Jim in the background :D Glad to see Jim's back in the present! And go Mike!

  • Baldwin the brawler, three good punches to floor boring Barlow

  • @rsw4ever Lol he had waited 4 long years to do that, after Barlow knocked him out over at the factory in 86

  • Ken's right at 1:01, he is a bastard.

  • I'd of thought Jim would've thumped someone, considering he likes throwing his fists about. Aha. x

  • @xoxprincessnikix0x Should have been Baldwin Lol.

  • Great fight ^^

  • "Not this time you're not" - classic Mike line

  • @legendary1996 Yeah Mike was thinking about the time when Ken went over to the factory and punched him thats how he said that

  • @TheBryan61383 Just what i was thinking, Mike had waited 4 long years to land one on Ken and was almost just looking for an excuse to butt into that argument Ken was having with Curly.

  • @TheBryan61383 No it wasn't. It was Curly who punched ken and then Mike hit Curly

  • Good 1-2-3 combo from Mike there!

  • If you listen carefully at 1.04 / 1.05, you can here Ken say "Bastard". It's quite soft, but it's definitely audible.

  • omg. Jack, vera, mike and ken My 4 favourite characters in this soap if im honest :) So glad jack and vera are both together again (In heaven)

  • Very Graphic fight scene there!

  • oh yes, for i was blind but now i see. Its more like an episode of the sweeney.

1:14 mikes reall out of breathe.

  • The first time Mike ever got to hit Ken. Considering he hit him three times, Ken got out of that pretty well unscathed. Given Jim McDonald's love for violence I'm surprised he didn't thump somebody.

  • @CarlD2 Yeah Jim was ok when he first went in coronation street in 1989 he was not in to violence then. I remember an episode from 1986 when Ken went to Mikes factory and hits Mike with one punch.
