  • You're getting awfully good at this, Larry! I am really enjoying this series. Let me know when you'd like to go out to Hemet for your project.

  • I have the sidewinder type, and to me they're easier to handle because they're lighter. But any time I want a precision straight cut, I'll clamp a guide to the piece and pretend it's an upside down table saw.

Battery life and memory seem to be problems mainly with the little cameras, a tradeoff for size. I have 3 battery packs, each one good for 160 minutes of nonstop recording. The hard drive has a 45 hour capacity, and it can also use up to 32 GB memory cards, at about 10 hours each.

  • @anmoose Ya I guess I just gotta go out and spend a grand if I want to be happy.

  • A new bitch ceiling! Yeah!

  • Ah, good tools. Life would suck without good tools.

  • @Desertphile The right tools make the job much easier.

  • I see you kept the vent in the same place. All in all, I think this trailer is coming along pretty well Larry, and maybe it's e, but I feel like I am understanding this build better then the last, not sure why, but I am really enjoying it!

  • My batteries last 4 hours and my card 2 hours at 720p 30fps but if I'm not recording it shuts off after 10 minutes. It has no setting to turn that off. Sucks when I use the remote control and realize it was recording because it was shut off.

  • @slmdj I have a new camera on the way. Let's see how that works out. I can see now that Im going to need much bigger memory cards. That's where they get you. Just like in the old days of film. They sell you the camera at a price you can afford. But the film and the processing was where they made thier money. In the digital world they make thier money on memory and consumables like batteries.

  • @mobiltec,

New camera? I hope this one works out. Make a note: 32 GB memory cards can be had for $40. 16 gig cards are like 12 bucks. And don't use consumable batteries. They'll eat you alive. Get Lithium Ion rechargeables. High capacity and long life. Buy once.

At least you don't have to buy film. Boy do I remember those days, and I have the obsolete cameras to prove it, including 2 movie cameras. LOL

  • @anmoose Funny thing is, the general consensus is that my viewers really dont want me to do HD. LOL... Most of them don't have the band width to be able to watch it without buffering. I have the same problem I won't be able to watch my own videos without buffering LOL... Most of the vids I do with this new one will be in VGA anyways so Im now wondering what the whole point was in the first place.

  • Great Vid my Friend!!
