3:17 stop cam wide angle close up movement he she so smooooke ... all hollow words tunnel skyline fade out heaven OMG!!! Perfect, I watched it over and over and I just have that wish to timetravel back to 1995 and beat that guy out of the car before entering the tunnel who deems it right to double blink blink his here I am turn-signal indicator lights in the background, uuuh...
Love it! Perhaps not the best movie of Wong Kar Wai but the ending is perfect in every way... well, maybe apart for the three drops on the camera lens in the first shot - but I don't think anybody even noticed that:)
@yukikoforevernoise i see...i know this will mean nothing to you, but i'll say it anyway. Even though you think that you're special, or different because you watch less mainstream films, and listen to less mainstream music - you're not...you're just like all of the other people who do the same thing, and have made the same mistake. So make your condescending statements if you want, but they aren't going to make your life any more fulfilling.
@tomiguess I never said anything like that. I just said "shut up". That didn't imply any of the things you just said. If you want to go fight that battle do it somewhere else. I'm too simple for talks about "the mainstream"; I just wanted to give you a hard fucking time and watch you bitch about it. Mission accomplished. However, since you brought it up, what could be more mainstream or commercial than Okada Yukiko?
@tomiguess Why would I think I'm special? I didn't make this movie, Wong Kar-wai did. Plus, Hong Kong movies are very commercially successful and most of Wong Kar-wai's films are critically acclaimed. I don't even know about him from my own knowledge, I just leech off my film buff friends. I think you're just trying to embarrass me but this is the fucking internet, who gives a shit?
@tomiguess But yes, I do think Amelie is a far inferior movie and the emotional qualities of it far more trite than that of this ending. What the fuck of it? That doesn't make me cool and hip. Fuck wit.
@tomiguess I haven't bitched I've just informed you about the things that you seemed to be confused on. You're taking this thing way too seriously, I mean look, you even deleted a commented that maybe embarrassed you a little bit. That's weak.
@tomiguess You are just continuing to leave comments to try and make me look foolish. If you'll notice the time line this is only the second day in over a week that I've commented you back. I've wasted no time, I in fact just spent a fantastic week in Tokyo (my first time) and I didn't waste a second of it. Now I look just as foolish as anyone does when they argue about senseless things on youtube but I don't care so, what of it?
@tomiguess In short nothing on this anonymous forum is going to embarrass me so you might as well go find someone that's not going to bore you with the same neutral, strictly informative answers that I keep replying to you with.
@tomiguess My point in talking about Tokyo was not to gloat just to illustrate that you're claim that I'm wasting time or what not is baseless. I'm doing what I want because it suits me at this moment and I'm not hurting anyone in doing it. I seem to be making you feel uncomfortable but even that is only seemingly so, you could be just as bored and unaffected as me on the other side, but as long as the charade keeps up I'll be mildly entertained, enough to get on when I'm bored.
@tomiguess As a side note, why, because I wrote something logically sound, is that indicative of taking my time? Why can I not just be a competent human who is in the mood to say exactly what he means simply and concisely?
@yukikoforevernoise Why do you keep sending 2 to 3 replies to every 1 of mine...i'll be honest, i'm only reading the last one, and i'm basically just skimming through that. I'm not interested in what you have to say...with regards to anything.
@tomiguess I think I spend more time logging into the e-mail to find out you replied again that I do replying to these things. Plus, it's relaxing to argue about nothing.
I think it's only a store like because he says "that night" but you're right it's probably the only time in the movie that everything is sufficiently lit. I get chills during this ending. Love Michelle Reis' character. Even if it seemed like she set up the hit man character, which was fucked up, whatever his name was.
@Dragonclaw23 You're right, it is one of the best endings to a movie, ever. And you're totally right about the daylight thing! I never even noticed that! It makes it even more symbolic and hopeful than before.
Mi muy querido itspirado esta es una de las mejores peliculas para mi en lo personal en especila me encanta el guion y las escenas ni que decir, esta movie la pasaron el el canal once del politecnico y me encanto hasta el dia de hoy me sigue impactando.
mhm..that's interesting. I've never watched the ending of the chinese version, only the german one. The soundtrack is so dramatically different, it felt strange at first. The german version has dennis brown's "things in life" in it, Maybe as a connection to chunking express? I dunno..fits both, I think. Awesome flic anyway.
I think watching the german version of a chinese film is generally a wrong thing to do. I have the german DVD but didn't watch it in german once. Changing the song is an unspeakable crime, I've never heart of that before.
I agree with you there. And I can't think of another film, that was raped like that. And it's my opinion as well, that a flic should be watched in it's original form. Why didn't I do it? Well you can't change the language on a video tape, right?
Still (maybe, because it's how I got to know Fallen Angels)
I find that specific piece of music rather fitting. It was one of my favourite songs in CE and, as both movies originally were intended to be one, but were cut in two eventually, it has a nice touch to it, drawing that connection through that song...but they shouldn't have done it. it IS a crime.
i love this movie...
