theintelligent, the world should be easier to live in. Humans are born by the grace of their god and not by any state. Ideologies may seek to convert the minds of many and some by brute force where their logic falls flat but music has a greater power to unite us all. For this posting, i hope it unites a favorable LIKE and pleasure to enjoy. A hearty cheers to everyone listening wherever you are and have a really fun day.
Although this a romanticized version of the real conflict it should be mandatory for ALL Americans to see this movie, they would learn how the middle eastern fight for their land. They know how to kick ass. Ron Paul 2012!!! He'll get us out of the middle east and stop interfering in other countries' affairs.
i saw this movie when it first came out(i am 63) and i just fell in love with it. the music is beautiful, the man(Peter O'toole of course but i mean the real Lawrence) was beautiful, the scenery was beautiful and i saw it about 3 times and of course bought the album. I was so inspired by the real man that i did a report on him in school. thanks soso much for posting this great music!!!!
people who do not appreciate this kind of upper class music don't what they are missing . this has everything pannache decorum , feel sorry for you guys who dont like this music
Practically, all the US presidents have been "Lawrence". Each one of them had temerity to think that he (no she, so far) could bring peace and prosperity to the foreign place that is Middle East
The British Army considered him to be something of an embarrassment, a reckless knight-errant, and generally considered his Arab guerillas to be a band of ill-controlled thugs.
His popularity in Britain really came after the war, when the story of his exploits became widespread, and he published a memoir of the events, Seven Pillars of Wisdom. His role is certainly exaggerated, and derived in part from the idealised Mighty Whitey.
Lawrence of Arabia is highly overrated both in terms of his role, and the legend surrounding him. His role was a very small one in the Arab revolt, the real movers and shakers behind it were Sharif Husain and Shikh Faisal, Lawrence functioned basically as no more than a British adviser to the Arabs.
Much of his lionization was due to British propaganda and racial biases. Terribly inaccurate movie.I doubt most Arabs even know of him, he was a minor figure inreality.
God curse this fool who got muslims to fight and kill other muslims(the turks) and divided our ummah. God forgive us, our stupidity for abandoning the principles of our religion.
Une musique envôutante et fascinante comme les dunes du desert ! Quel beau film et surtout une leçon d'hypocrisie sur les motivations finançiéres de ceux qui ont exploité la foi et la folie de Lawrence ! Des acteurs sublissimes .....
I just saw this film for the first time, and it was entertaining. I thought that there were a few scenes that seemed to have slow pacing, but other then that I enjoyed it.
He was a Brit....and the Brits took Arabia from him..his own people, the Brits, treated him like shit...he should have fought against the Brits, his own motherfucked people..and not against the Turkish..the Brits in Egypt were traitors...and he believed in the help of these fucking traitors...he wanted a FREE ARABIA! Free vom Brit or US influence!
@101282162: it shows how AL SAOUD are stupid to fight against the Khalifa and the Hashimit to dominate the Hidjaz with the collaboration of the britans and the West !
In what way does your comment allow us to better appreciate the music? If you wish to make a political statement, why must you use the scatalogical term for sexual intercourse in a place that might be viewed by children. Only Arabs and Moslems would do such a thing ...du bist ein Narr, einen Obszonitat.
I saw the film in Cinerama in NYC in 1962 and was totally blown away by everything, sound, visual, thought. My first date with my future husband. Marriage lasted 45 years; the film will be remembered far longer. My thanks to all those who contributed to the film. I will love it forever.

Too bad none of the new films have overtures. And it seems like only 5 seconds of each song on a soundtrack is actually in a film nowadays.

Then again, based on some of their qualities, if they deserve an overture ...
