I find the minoura is a little unstable generally. I have in the past used manfrotto clamps and a Nikon LS10 compact.

I found for mounts the ATCs are still pretty good, though the sound a nasty as hell. Thesedays I use a HQ-2 into a HQR-2 recorder, a little too wideangle to show the close overtakes but you can change the lenses on them.

I have done the rear camera thing too.

LOL, well the down side is they're heavy and if you overtention them you can ruin the bike part you're clamped to.

The rubber and velcro twofish lockblocks (from dogcamsports) are possibly the best for bullet type cams and securing to helmets. Downside is they're pretty limited in adjustments, upsides is they're rubber and absorb some of the road.
