XII is a good story, it's just aimed at an aging audience -- those who were playing these games 15 years ago and are now hitting 30. The Super Teen Angst stories start to pall.

@auronlu I agree; what I love about the Final Fantasy series is it caters for all types of its fans. There's FFX for the romantic types, there's FFX-2 for the fun-loving types, there's FFXII for the serious types, etc...
