  • And a little bit faster.... lol

  • mi name is arritmhic

  • Drumming lefty. ahhhh confusing.

  • Awesome, Thanks for the tip dude.

  • Fake and gay

  • @XxROGERxX1993 And I'm Kris. Nice to meet you.

  • @XxROGERxX1993 I just checked the likes/dislike bars; the "like" beats "dislike" by 23.4 to 1! So what's "fake or gay" got to do with it? The usual YT jealousy syndrome maybe?

Judging by your name I'd say you were born in 1993 so I guess you have the "young and stupid" excuse going for you!

  • @geoden Sorry Max, I forgot to say nice one!

  • he speaks like Borat :P

  • I would call it a fill as it sounds horrible to groove like that....

  • That snare. . . . . . . . . . . =

  • Great lesson ! Thanks !!!

  • Unbearable to watch.

  • @MetalDutch14 how? why? hes a genius

  • Mike Johnson does this double stroke thing between his right hand and right foot. very clever... but unless you've practiced RRrr RRrr with your right hand and right foot for a few years, it ain't easy to do.

This guy is using single strokes, this is an easier fill to manage.

  • @SAHBfan true but 32nd notes are a lot easier to play clean than 16th note triplets .

  • I've seen Mike Johnston do this kinda stuff.

  • Hello!, what kind of drum set is that?

  • yeah, love this guy. Sounds complicated, but breaks it down so well. Thanks!

  • Thank you! rookie drummer appreciates it, I can stay in time all night, it's the cymbals I haven't completely worked in yet, again thank you any advice would be appreciated, I'm almost have it but it's not natural.

  • he has a wierd stance

  • Thank you, That was so clear, And understandable...Thank you once again.

  • thats a good way to cheat the audience...might as well throw out the left foot, make them think you are God with heel-toe haha

  • sooo fucken confusing

  • Wow!That is really tight. Thanks for the info!

  • that's great, man. thanks for that!

  • you have good skills

  • I'm always amused when I see comments on which is better - double bass, single or whatever. It's all about preference nothing more.

When it comes to skill it doesn't matter much what the instrument is, as Lee Trevino said:

"The skill is in the Indian, not the arrow".

  • are a big drummer dont u? post any solo or something where u should some of ur skills together

  • wouldn't everyone just learn a trick they could use sometime in their playing, instead of putting it down? Anyways, i feel double bass is soooo lazy. that's just my opinion. People like Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Zach Hill, kill it with one bass drum pedal!

  • You are burnt alright, this very much has a five stroke double kick feeling punch much like doing a flam on the floor tom ahead of the kick to achieve a similar sound.

  • ur not mike johnston

  • You're right, he's Max Sansalone.

  • Nice one! :)

  • Well, he is kinda doin like a heel toe technique with the kick. Sorta lol.

  • He said it SOUNDS like a double base beat, he didn't say it WAS such.

  • @BurntToast355: Yes, I must admit I did say "base" instead of "bass", much to my chagrin. It's an error I've never made before and one I shall endeavour not to reiterate. However, unlike you, I try to make helpful constructive comments. Max is a good player deserving of respect and encouragement, not petty negative criticism.

Like many sad cases,I think you're most likely motivated by jealousy.

  • LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Jealousy huh....You really have no clue boy. None whatsoever........I only criticize those who are on a lower level than me, musically.

    go fuck yourself

  • Aha, aggression, the mark of the intellectually defeated.

It's been my life experience that people who are at a high musical level NEVER criticise anyone unless asked and even then, they do so constructively.

You have just told me all I need to know about where you are and you're making a fool of yourself!

  • LOL! wrong.........this video is bullshit and there is no way around it!!!!HAHAHAHAHA

  • Look at the comments on all Max's videos, the vast majority like what he does and show respect, only a small minority like you show their low class.

All you can do is use uppercase text as if that will help your non-existent case. Since you're obviously a kid I'll let you have the last word.

  • Its because all the people who post on this video (except me of course) are a bunch of FAGGOTS who SUCK at drums.....including you

so you can go ahead and hump your pillow.....cause thats as close as you will get

  • just stfu dude, you dont even know the people who are commenting-.-

i play drums for 6 years now so i dont think i suck dumass

  • lol society has molded you into exactly what it wants. Keep following it and keep being a tool of something you are unaware of. keep it up!

  • Well you could say it's a matter of opinion. I was just saying that someone who says completely generic and unoriginal shit on a youtube video is a tool. just the same old pointless declaration. Thats what i was saying.

  • Comment removed

  • Kit sounds nice dude!

Snare's got a nice crack and the floor tom's nice & warm

    H!Tman

  • Wow nice fill. I like it

  • double bass pattern

  • if you dont hit the bass drum as hard, you can get it in and make it sound more like a

  • what kind of snare is that?

  • fidock bubinga :)

  • beautiful snare sound. That thing is a big fatty

  • double paradiddle FTW

  • excelent...excelent!

  • ....what?

  • motherfucker ...u complicated the thing

  • Wow :D

That 16" floor sounds sweet :D

    How do you tune it?

  • this is very similar to the pattern used by "herb" for the song "my name is mud" by Primus..... cool vids i dig em!

  • ...PRIMUS SUCK... totally worth it.

  • i can c how its hard.. but fuck it sounds average for the effort put into it lol.... soz just my opinion

  • not the point fucktard it dont matter how much effort he puts into it its just something to use to expand your knowledge of the drumset and can be useful as many things

  • nice i dig your technique~

  • Awesome lick! I like all your videos, keep 'em coming man!

  • nice man! too bad i don't have a 16" floor haha

  • Great !!! :-)

  • stanley peck = wtf do u know

  • LOL. @_@

  • stanleypeck=retard

  • a lil faster... zoom zoom

  • Thanks for showing that. It sounds great and it's solid

  • ever look gimpy lol

  • DUDE! Your from Québec? Nice, I play drums too! Vive le Québec libre!

  • ur set is really msall if thats ur set

  • the size of the set dosent make a drummer, its the drummer that makes thse set. Hes using the least amount of drums just to show he can do double effect without all this ither bullshit. This guy could play with a friggin bass, snare and hi hat and burry guys who have 8 pc kits. Very Talented. Watch some of his other vids.

  • pretty good :)

  • Think what you want, every time I see a drummer use a double pedal to play anything but blast beats at 200 BPM I think, "what a sissy, just practice more." Whatever, it's your drumset, play it how you like. I still think double pedals are a copp out.

  • What is interesting is that all of the methods are good! depending on what you want to play,,,,,,,personally I use this method and play a double pedal, and depending on the riff you want to get and how to exit beck to the groove determines the method used to play it. This fellow does a very nice job!

    Cheers

    Froggman

  • also true

  • Ha, yea. Itz teh cheetz to uze deh duble pedlz.

  • Maybe if you're some spoiled little kid from the burbs but some people don't have the luxury to buy new gear and have to work with what they have. Besides, double bass is a cop out. Put in enough practice you can do anything one footed you can two footed.

  • haha, I have zero intention of buying a double bass pedal, because they're useless to me, but SOME people can't afford it, believe it or not, to such a degree that they couldn't "just get one." They might be able to save but I was commenting on the implication that anyone can just up and get one.

  • Fuck. Read, dude.

Useless to me. I don't use them. Have a ball. Use them all you want. I don't need it and don't want it, it takes up space and I don't play music that would ever necessitate a double bass pedal. My original point was that people can do things on a single pedal you can do with a double, it just takes practice and dedication. What's so wrong with that? Why all the shit talking because I encourage single pedal applications of double pedal techniques? Y'all are short sighted.

  • what the hell kind of shitty bands do you play in where the drummers can't play without a double bass pedal?

  • pretty much all good drummers have double bass. name a few that dont if you think ur so smartass.

  • John Bonham, his mad bass triplets would knock the socks off your double bass. Just listen to something like "Good Times, Bad Times"

  • JoJo Mayer you fuckin reet. He can play single bass drum faster than you can play too. Also John Bonham as mentioned. Actually what kind of shitty band do you play in where the drummer CANT play doubles on a single. All the bands I play with don't use double pedals. The only music where it is needed most is metal.

  • John Bonham asshole......never used a double bass pedal.

  • This is interesting. Did the double petal yet exist in the 1970's? When was it invented or put into popular use? I'd like to know. Thanks.

  • I've seen double basses in use since as early as '69 or '68. Mostly progressive band drummers. They weren't using double bass pedals, just two kick drums.

  • nice stroke

  • Great,man! Just great!

  • snares tune to A 440

  • hahaha you are crazy bro. thanks for share this.

  • why not kick, right, left, right, LEFT? co

  • Awesome sound from the kit. It sounds so warm and balanced. You have the ability to convey your lesson really well. Great teachers are hard to find. Sensational playing. You sound like you have really paid your dues. That beat is really confusing, the it just takes off and you are away! Great post. You have a new subscriber. I cant wait to see what else you have posted. Thanks heaps.

  • That was great! Thank you! Is there any way you could post a latin drumming lesson? The beat you're playing in the start of your funky latin solo is awesome. Thanks again for the videos, you're seriously a good drummer man.

  • cool i will learn this some day

  • magic

  • very very cool!!!

  • my name-a-borat, the drummer lol... Nice though

  • wow¨! very nice! I have to be undergone to try!

  • do play traditional grip as well? something tells me that you do... could you help us out with some hand technique advice and how the way you hold your sticks works for you?

  • Hey! Sorry took so long to answer just been busy. i play traditional grip sometimes but it's not as strong as my matched grip. The advice I would give you is to check out Jojo Mayer's new DVD on Hand technique and Marko Djorchevich's new DVD called WHERE I COME FROM. Everything you need to know is in there.I can't explain it better. One technique that helped me alot is the Moeller Method and also full strokes. They are both very well explained in these videos. Best of luck Max

  • excellent fill idea i see alot progressing of that using it around the kit thanks man im gonna give that a shot great drum sound
