if they are making the movie, it should be about captain Anderson during the first contact war or it can be about one of the great books they made for mass effect.

if they make a movie it should be a prequel - it should be a full CG film focusing on the Rachni War, the Geth Uprising against the Quarians or the Krogan Rebellion...not the events of the game, itself. mass effect is all about choice and not everyone's interpretation of shepard or the events is the same (or the events on that matter) and it should stay that way. focus on a prequel far beyond the game, not a director's interpretation of the game.

It should be noted that this is a fake. The real movie released a teaser for XBox live in march. It will be coming out in Fall 2011, obviously not November 2009 as this fake trailer suggests.

Yes there are books. Check out your local Barnes and Nobles, look in the science fiction section. There is a prequel that details the events prior to Shepard. Actually the main character is he black commander whom I can't remember his name in my drunken stupor.

I could see a Mass Effect movie being made, if it were to be based of of the events during the game, it would be quite difficult since you are able to choose what to say, Paragon or Renegade, who to kill and let live, Ashley or Liara or neither (if your an ass to both), there are so many alternate ways for the story to play out.

If they were to base it off the game I can imagine there being a DVD with like five disks, all different movies depending on the unique stories that play out.
