  • nice rims man, what are they called?

  • Beautiful Camaro, Just need to get the Hp and TQ numbers up a bit!

  • I have the same car but with an automatic. Red, and beautiful!

Any advise (maintanance, good to knows, whatever?)

    Thanks

  • i have basically the same car but a z28 she's my first car got her for 1350

  • Hey man what color orange is that? that color is amazing!

  • @contreboy96 it is the original Bright Red. It really looks orange though when the sun is shining off it.

  • Should've had a v8. :P Haha.

  • clean as fuck!!!

  • dang its crazy it put down 150 horsepower to the wheels, those things were rated at 170 horsepower to the flywheel from the factory, only a loss of 20hp! The torque took a hit though, they were rated at 255 torque to the flywheel from factory, nice maro! its super clean!

  • I had a 92 RS and it was georgous, but unfortunately, it was an absolute dog. 170 HP out of the factory...

  • i would put 4.11 gears in it. make one hell of a difference one a 1/4 time.

  • Slow crawl on the Dyno I would put you about 200 WHP I know my 305 TBI made 150 WHP before I did the build LS1 motor swap

  • Comment removed

  • Are those numbers serious? I'm not trying to bash your car, but 150HP? Are you sure the dyno isn't wrong? I have a 181cid V6 that stock put out 145HP and 201TQ to the wheels. I was thinking about buying one of these but if that's the case I'm gonna stick to my car for awhile longer. o.O

  • what kind of rims are thoughs?

  • @kanejam1 SLP Wheels

  • @Tallion99 Those the hyper black ones?

The car looks great. I would just paint the headlight buckets black though.

  • @Tallion99 Those the hyper black ones? Are they 17x8's? Was the car lowered? The stance looks great.

The car looks great. I would just paint the headlight buckets black though.

  • @Irocz1767 yup, hyper black, 17x8. car is stock except for the exhaust and wheels.

  • @Tallion99 i order the slp wheels and a year later the center cap on the front hub cracked on booth wheels has that happen on yours i only drove it a few times and if you are using new wheel that fit let me know

  • @bonddav007 No issues with the center caps here. just hit 15k miles over 6 years

  • @Tallion99 THEY ARE THE SLP 17X8 FOR 3RD GEN. 82-92 AND THE CAPS ARE OVAL NOT FLAT THAT YOU HAVE WRITE

WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THE TIGHT FIT IN THE FRONT CENTER CAPS

  • 3rd Gens are sex machines.

  • Bro nice car, but if i was you i would put a bigger open element on that engine, look at that little thing , that engine has what 1 and half of space to get air from , its already restricting enough at were the injectors are at, get one of those 3in by 14in filter elements , thrust me should let ur motor breath some more air.

  • put an ls1 in it.

  • That's a nice looking cruiser that's probably fun to drive, sounds good, and gets about 30 mpg on the hwy. I like it. It doesn't have to run 11's or 12's to be cool, and I own an low 11 sec car. I'd take this car in a heartbeat.

  • @70camaro406

Wow, hats off to this guy! It's nice to see an owner of a 11 second car complimenting and accepting a 15 second RS Camaro. I had a '92, it was an Automatic though. I really miss that car, they feel pretty quick because they have great torque down low. I definitely recommend these cars to anyone, they are A BLAST to drive, I couldn't stop smiling when I drove mine! I will be buying another '91-92 RS soon, I have a Z28 now :)

  • @aarontheman38

Thanks for the kind words. These third gens are great cars. Back in late college, '94-'96, I had an '83 Trans Am, HO 305 L69, 5 spd, 3.73's...all stock except for a Dynomax cat back with gutted converter, K&N, advanced timing (big help), and a shortened stock shifter. I loved driving that car, and I got it to run a 14.55 @ 99 mph, launching soft. Pretty quick for the mid '90s, though. I STILL miss that car. I'm looking for a nice, clean '91-'92 RS just like this one in the video.

  • It sounds very nice...! Some Headers? 2", 2 1/2" or 3" tubing?

  • hey r4p1dzz save you some money and enjoy your car when you get some exp. under your belt then get a 350 v8 and swap

  • im a fox body mustang guy, but i gotta say that this type model camaro is probably my favorite of all of them. looks sweet

  • My 305 puts out 230hp

  • @Whellnow my 305 put down 294rwhp and 355 lb/tq. who said 305's were junk! ha!

  • @91cannibal: i never said they were junk... mine is stock and puts out 230hp so i was just saying that it seems low for a 305. I love my 305 and will never hate on them.

  • @Whellnow nah man, i didnt mean YOU said they were junk. i meant that theres people out there who rag on 305's and call them boat anchors. 305's are badass. all they need to make real good power are good flowing heads like 416's with 1.94/1.60 valves with work on them, a good cam with springs and rockers, worked intake and full exhaust system and they easily make close and even over 300hp.

  • @91cannibal Oh i get what your saying! alright cool man now i know we are on the same page.

  • @91cannibal why would anyone put money into a 305? LMAO are you kidding me? those engines gave camaros and firebirds are bad name. if you dont have a 5.7 in it just save up for one. the 305 was just an economy engine, nothing more

  • @Whellnow they are junk though

  • @91cannibal thats complete BS. keep telling yourself that and keep getting dusted by almost anything on the road with that 5 point slow

  • I don't get it.

How is it even physically possible for a 5.0 litre V8 to have 150 hp WITH MODS??

My worn out flip-flops have more horsepower than this..... what the hell.

  • @56KbModem its factory other than the exhaust, it tells you that.

  • @56KbModem those engines were crap thats why

  • its true that theres no replacement for displacement, but dynamite comes in small packages. if you know what your doing then you can make a 305 stomp the shit outta 350. yeah it might take money and time, but hell i rather make somethin small blow the doors off anything big

  • shit i had a 305 in mine for awhile. rated at 170 is total junk. get heads or head work, cam, free flowing exhust, tbi bore/intake, open element and 3.73's im telling ya it wakes them the fuck up

  • Hey, just wondering where you got your rims, I'm having troubles finding anything but american Racing on Tire rack.

  • i have a 92 rs, i only got 136 hp and 211 torque atw. a strange combination of hp to torque but its watev ive spent 6k trying to restore it not done yet almost tho.

  • hey now theres nothing wrong with 305 what about the 327s of the 60s thoose fuckers spun 10000 rs with no problem so big displacement isint always better at least its a v8

  • Really. Just swap out the damn thing at get a 5.7 in there. plug and play youll have 280hpISH and have plenty of base to work with. Thats a waste money putting into a 305. My Little 4 banger on 8psi is pushing 250 on a T3/t4 on a stock rebuild. Throw that POS 305 away and get 350. Shit even a 454. THINK big.

Either way VERY nice work. mad props. Well put together.

  • @Rendonlxi hey buddy, I have a 1991 GTA Trans Am with a 5.7-litre V8 - it has around 240bhp, it's all stock. But, if i want more power and torque, what can i do? thanks very much.

  • @barryhorne10 screw them ls engines you will pay threw the nose getting one and tuning it and wiring nightmares especially if your new to cars. get a summit racing catalog or a jegs catalog at there web sites there free, jegs and summit will give you the best combination for your motor dont listen to all these get this guys. upgrading your cam and intake and exhaust are easy do it yourself power builders. but summit will give you free advice from mechanics also so they know what you need

  • i cant decide between a dark blue paint job or a red paint job. this other guy in my neighborhood has a 98 firebird in red, so i'm reluctant to get the red even though i love the color. and i came up with getting dark blue so that i wont have a car thats the same color as every other car, i have an 86 v6 camaro. help

  • hi, yea can some1 help me out? im new to cars and stuff, im 15 and i just got a 1991 camaro rs but.. its a v6 and its 2 embarrasing to drive i bet my moms camry could smoke it , does any1 have any sugestion on what to do with it? on like what kind of engine i should buy to start out with i have 1.5k saved up so any tips and estimites on prices would be helpful, thx.

  • Dude, it is your first car. you got the V6 because insurance is way cheaper. I am not sure how the camaro is uncooler than a 8 year old chevy neon that the other kids are getting. take the v6 out, beat the crap out of it and keep saving up your money for a better car and more experience. rock on!

  • @Tallion99 me and a buddy of mine just got a 1988 camaro 302 v8 bad ass plenty o power

  • @Tallion99 Actually since the car is originally v6 then if he swaps motors insurance wont go up because the insurance company goes by the vin. Best thing you can do man is throw a 350 down in it if youre wanting power, but if you just want a v8 for the sound and a little more power then buy a 305. It all just really depends on what you want the car to do.

  • @Tallion99 when i got my liscence at 17 i was drivin my dads 83 Z28 for 199 a month in ontario canada

  • @r4p1dzz wow thats so weird... when i was 15 (last year) i bought my first car a 91 camaro rs 3.1l v6

  • @r4p1dzz Well it depends, do you want to keep the v6? slap a turbo with 6-8lbs of boost and tune it. Or find a lt1 out of a z28/iroc and get it with the wiring harness. Or if you have the money build a 350 and drop it in, but you said you new to cars and all. so go read alot, and all these are around 1500-3000 it all depends how you build it

  • @joshSLASHweed IROCS came with L98's not LT-1's

  • Buy a blueprint crate 383, they cost like 4500, have 400+hp, and take a beating

  • @r4p1dzz find a cheap, running 350 on craigslist for about $400, then have it bored 30 over and get a 383 crank from jegs ($170) and some pistons and rings and a cam, new bearings etc... and you've got a cheap 383 stroker with decent power for about $1100! Then all u need is some engine mounts and a th350 or th400 trans and a drive shaft. You could have a pretty beast car for around $1500.

  • @r4p1dzz i would drive it...

  • @r4p1dzz take out the v6 and slap a 350 on it. Camaros are great cars stick with it. ON TOP of that they're great cars to get experience with considering the engine bay is pretty simplistic. If anything leave the v6 in there and just learn about the car. The engines in camaros are dumb animals they dont care what you do to them too much. So they're great candidates to take apart and figure out

  • @r4p1dzz Fuck that dude get an LT1 or if you can find an LS1 in your price range get it. Or get a carbeurated small block anywhere from 350 - 400ci. I prefer carbuerated engines cuz they have no computer but get a good carbuerator like a holley, proform, or edelbrock.

  • @r4p1dzz The bigg oll THREE FIVE OHH!

  • @r4p1dzz 427ci bigblock

  • @r4p1dzz turbos.

  • @r4p1dzz bro cams and bore that thing, if not then jus by a V8

  • @r4p1dzz sorry but just save a lil more, sell that one, and get a camaro that came with a v8. I bought a 91 v8 in great condition for $2500. or you could save about 5k and get a high mileage ls1 (1998-2002 v8) that maybe needs a little work, which is the best deal in my opinion.

  • @r4p1dzz nothing wrong with a v6 buddy. i wished my v8 305 was a v6 haha gas is a PITA in CALI. ): but i sitll love my high torque motor (: but low hp ): i got smoked by my own integra on the top end ):

  • @clumbzlbc get headers

  • @r4p1dzz plus swapping a new ls engine which would be te best way to go would be a hassle its been a year since ur comment so im guessing ur 16 or wut not with cash saved up to get a LS1 fbody but enjoy ur 3rd gen!

  • @r4p1dzz well, that also depends alot on the mechanical condition of the car. something really cheap you could do is just give it a tune up

  • @r4p1dzz Tallion99 is right. I made the mistake of buying my first car (89 IROC-Z) and just started ripping things out of it for modifications. It has been sitting for 5 years now and I have dumped well over 4k into it. Just drive it as much as you can, if the V6 ends up going, then think about a motor swap. Otherwise just have fun with what you have while you have it. Now, hit up the beach.

  • @r4p1dzz Buy an LS1

  • @ubcs109 them LS engines are good if they came with it, but for expense and ease of use there junk especially swapping to a non LS motor. he can build the motor hes got cheaper and get just as much power as an Ls motor. shit he can go to jegs and buy a patriot performance 383 which will destroy an LS and be cheaper than it would cost to do a full LS swap. all for 6k and 600hp. then he could spray it with a 200 shot and be in the 800hp range for 7k no LS is going to top that for that cheap.

  • @r4p1dzz Well man to be honest i dint get my camaro till i was 18 and i got the v6 but i dint like it it was to weak. So i just started using it getting use to the power and the speed and well its not really strong its still a car but i got a new engine a 454 and it has balls bro! But thats a major swap!!! But theres also the LS1 Swaps Or the Old school 350 v8 swaps wich is also a 5.7 but old school but these 3 engines are all great engines bro but just save up so more and check what u can afrd

  • @r4p1dzz if you plan on upgrading a camaro to have a fast car then dont

    its not worth it

just buy an import and call it a day my mazda import smokes mustangs stock and is soon to have a turbo installed to knock me up to 260 hp

  • @uploaded113redone thats your preference bro, I have a v8 mustang GT that was pushing 285hp stock, now after about $2,000 of mods, it dyno'd at 312hp to the back wheels. so abviously u were racing ragedy v6 mustangs. The point is people that by old camaro's and fix them up like american muscle.

  • @r4p1dzz first things first find out which tranny you have. then see if you can buy an adapter to make it work with a SBC 350. if you can buy it. then order a 350 through jegs for about 1600. drop it in. hook it to your tranny. carb it. and do without the FI set up. this is the cheapest way to go for V8-ing a V6 car. once you carb it you wont have to worry about the fuel system except a fuel regulator because carb uses way less FP then a FI set up uses. have fun kid.

  • v8 v6s arnt worth shit if u fix thos up

  • i have an 86 camaro v6 2.8 liter (u dont have to tell me) . i was wondering if it's worth it to fix it up or should i buy a v8 camaro, same year, and restore that one?

  • why not just keep car u have and get a v8 for ur v6 get tranny for v8

  • hey u wont to sell it i have a 92 camaro rs stock new paint clean very very nice or if not how much do u wont for it i really wont ur car

  • These are some good looking cars. Period.

  • i know its stock but how in the world do you have a 305 and only get 150hp??? to me that sounds stupid! im not tryin to be ignorent tho. it just does not sound right. are you sure its only 150?

  • add 30% for loss from the engine to the wheels and it comes out about 195 hp.

this is also a Mustang Dyno. supposedly they will give you lower HP readings than most of the other Dynos. but it is suppose to be more real world.

  • hahah thats why cuz its a mustang dyno!!! hahah lol. maybe try a camaro dyno!!! lol just kidden. but yeah 195 does sound better. but hay nice ass ride!

  • @mattthekingdong the 305 TBI was a low performance grandmas engine. true story

  • @mattthekingdong - They were meant to be economy V8s and designed to last forever. My 305 in my 91 RS just 200,000 and I woulnd't hesitate to drive it anywhere. The reason they make low power is due to the bore-size, and the tiny cam they put in them.

  • finally someone that is using the SLP rims, i been trying to find pics of someone using them....and now im in love lmao. they look great and i bet even better in person....now i just need to order them for my 89 iroc

  • I get lots of compliments on them too so i would recommend them for your ride...

  • when you put the slp wheels on did you keep the rear spacers on that the stock wheels had and what mods did you do to the engine is sounds like it has wor power then my 305 tbi has

  • The SLP wheels are made specifically for the 3rd gen cars so there are no spacers added to the front or back.

That would be the Borla exhaust kicking out the sweet tunes. I love the sound that comes from the Borla system. I also have an open air element on the intake and a CPU upgrade.

  • what wheels are those? i have a 91 rs and havent found any wheels that look good on it

  • 245/45 ZR17 tires is the best choice with 17" x 8" wheels. I supose that these are the same.

  • u gotta be kidding those are slp wheels? wow they look great, i was not expecting them to have such a nice lip.... do u have any pictures of them on ur car?

  • Yeah you lose 20% of your torque and horse power at the rear wheels ie: 40 so you are right where you should be nice car

  • key words "specs on the motor" it's a chassis Dyno! you lose hp and torque through the drivetrain.

  • yes that is true but you shouldent lose almost 50 lb ft of torque

  • ive got a 92 rs 25th anni edition with the same 305 tbi. stock specs on the motor are 170hp with 255 lb ft. i understand losing 20 hp in 17 years, but how did you drop 49 lb ft of torque?

  • Good Question. I will have to look into it.

  • was that 170 at the flywheel or to the wheels stock?

  • specs on the motor. naturaly you are gona lose some through the drivetrain but almost 50 lb ft would worry me.

  • well, with an automatic drivetrain you can lose up to 25%. if you had 200, you would lose 50. however, 25 is rather steep, its usually 18-22%. but factor in the age and it sounds about right.

  • Thank you! :)

  • take off some of the pollution shit borla exaust bigger cam bore oout the pistons 60 over and u have a fast car like my 91 rs convertile with american racing wheels and fat tires oh yea and kearn to play guitar dummies hahaaaaaa

  • mmm thats one sexy 91 =D

  • its cool to see a 305 and not a 350. i have a tpi 305 in a z28 convertible. After all how many SCCA did the 350 compete in? ;)sweet car really nice.

  • What the name of those Wheels?? Looks good! I got 89 RS, TBI. With Posi-3.42, full exhaust, intake, street cam, chip, and othe small thing, you can get those things to go pretty fast! They have a lot of hidden power!

  • Nice car, clean too! You'd be VERY suprised to see what that 305 TBI can actually do.

  • i have basically the same car, except i have a 1989. the L03 is a great engine in terms of durability and modest performance. its not a 350 and has some performance, but its not a high performance engine. they also deliver better than average fuel economy for a v8. my car gets better gas millage than most v6 powered trucks. its a practical and fun car to drive. eventually i want to do a 350, but for now i just enjoy what i have.

  • very very nice camaro...wish i had one...but i would rather have a 1969 camaro

  • Thanks Guys! These cars are not race cars. They are made for cruising the boulevard. I want to get a street machine with lots of HP but i don't plan on selling this car because I enjoy cruising in it too much.

I also believe that in a manual car your driving, in an automatic your riding...

  • exactly. The RS is just a cruising car that has just enough power to beat any ricer that comes near. My 305 has 162,000 and still runs like a champ.

  • Got a 92 Just like yours...but hardtop no t's. Completely stock, 40000 original miles, 5 speed 305, flowmaster's, great cars, feels like they have a good deal more than 170 hp.

  • Improving intake manifold, TBI spacer and exhaust (headers and 3"pipes) can give your camaro more than 250hp. Trust me....!

  • TBI space MAYBE adds 5hp, exhaust wont give you more then 20hp. No way youll get 100hp, sorry man. Ive been to the dyno. Full exhaust i had like 160hp on the dyno with my firebird.

  • Well, then do I need to put a Crane Cams CRN-104211 to give 250 HP without having heat or ECM problems? Do you recomend any other mod?

  • If you add a cam... youre going to need a tune to make the most of it.

If you want to make cheap power, just get a nitrous kit. Or full exhaust, cam, better heads, and EBL Flash and a wideband O2 sensor so you can tune it. Thatll put you at around 250 hp on a 305TBI motor.

  • Mods I suggest to reach 250 HP from a 305 TBI engine are:

1.- Upgrade TBI and manifold, porting to 1.8125 cm (1 13/16") diameter (max TBI unit bore size without going thru the casting) increasing flow to 590 cfm.

2.- 1/2" acetal resin TBI spacer.

    3.- Camshaft: SpeedPro CS-1080R

    4.- K&N Open Element E-1450

    5.- Hooker Headers 2460HKR

    6.- 2.5" exhaust tubing

    7.- Flowmaster 80 series.

¿Do you have another combo similar to this?

  • 170hp is the flywheel rating. Stock on the dyno its more like 140whp. mods you suggest might give 200-210whp.

Stock TBI unit is fine to like 250whp. Spacers dont really do much.

  • well... if u want to get at least 250 hp out of a 305 get the high output model- it has 250hp stock then mods so think around 300 hp with mods.

  • no it doesn't. the 305 H.O L69 Engine had 195 to the flywheel, but the engine also had fuel boiling problems and was discontinued after 1986

  • @NightmareMC3 but this is the LO9 v8.. not the L69..

  • I mean 170 HP form stock 305 5.0 TBI plus 80 HP added with mods I suggested, give as result at least 250 HP ¿Isn´t it?

  • dont listen to some of these guys. that is a fine ass camaro and 150rwhp is not bad.

  • @Camaroheat3400 try 110hp out of the 191 cu in 3.1 v6. and thats if it runs like new

  • That's sad, 150 HP on a v8 engine.

  • When they made these cars the nation just got over a fuel "crisis" and EPA regulations were strict. If you've ever looked under the hood of one of these Camaro's you'd see all the crap that had to be added so that the "fumes" and unburnt fuel could be reused. Retarded S*** that only downpowered EVERY car made at the time.

  • It is sad considering my 1989 cavalier z24 came stock with 140hp. On the 3.1L v6 atleast. My last dyno run had 185 hp to the wheels on a 3.1L v6. I'm NOT downing a camaro at all. I love the 3rd gens but the weight/hp ratio sucked.

  • Dayum! I miss my camaro. I would stab someone to have another one.

  • i think your shiftin a bit too early through the gears.

  • This was a HP/Torque run which doesn't kick in until your up into 4th gear.

The ones where the cars are jumping around with the pedal to the floor during the shifts are quarter mile runs.

  • I got a 91 Z28 Camaro that pulls about 415 hp at the rear wheels..its my baby so I take care of it and havent raced it yet..I dont want to deface the 2500 dollar paint job...Im trying to get a twin turbo set up..does anyone have any suggestions for the turbos?

  • STS

  • Thats a nice Clean Camaro.

  • what the 0-60 time?

nice ride i ve got a white 1992 RS

  • 1991 Camaro RS. Stock 305 V8 TBI 5 speed. Borla exhaust.

150 hp 206 torque at the wheels

  • Is it a z-28 or an IROC-Z?

  • There is no difference between an Iroc-Z and a base model z-28 other than the decals on the doors.

  • yes there is a lot of difference......the suspension is more stiffer on the iroc-z, bigger wheels , only tuned port injection V8(305,350) for iroc-z and a quicker ratio steering box for the iroc......
