Metalcore was around in the mid 90's but it was a VERY different thing, it was bands like unearth and shadows fall where as what metalcore has become is basically a slightly more metal emo with shit bands like a7x and bfmv. Trivium are good as they are, in my opinion much more a proggy thrash band than a metalcore band. a7x and bfmv jst got lucky when they held onto the trend

It's their passion for creativity and performance and the fact that they make music for the love of the process and the experience.
