  • The sound when you pick up a gun is so epic.

  • this is a game that is really under rated if u ask me should been ported over to ps3 & xbox 360 like wolf 3d & doom was ported over

  • great game based on the wolfenstein 3d engine

  • Huhhuh, as Kid I was so freaking white when I played this, I was scared so freaking much :D

  • Music is classic! I remember back when sound blasters were a big deal

  • After some experimentation, I found out that the best cycles values for me are 20,000 - 24,000 at most. Higher values caused severe sound stuttering and other problems.

For Wolf 3d and SoD, however, I deliberately keep cycles lower, to avoid the well-known problem of pushwalls going further than intended.

  • @AlexeiVoronin Yes, depends on your system and what programs you run in the background (Firewall, AV etc)

  • Wolf 3D and SoD play really fast and smooth in DosBox, but Blake stubbornly keeps being choppy.

What configuration did you use while recording these videos?

  • @AlexeiVoronin

At the time I was using Windows XP and I had to push the CPU Cycles up to ~ 26 - 30,000 cyles. I think it played smoother than how it looks in the video. However, DosBox is alot better under Linux with better performance and less issues in my experience.

  • @constancenoring - I am using Windows XP as well. So far I usually used between 10,000 - 20,000 cycles for Wolf-engine games (I thought sound might get choppy at higher numbers), but I will try your suggestion too.

    Thanks :)

  • Star Insttute General Operations lulz.

    "GUARD !"

Dude, play the VETERAN mode for real fun instead... It makes the start of E1M1 so dangerous xDDD

  • I love this game! <3 I loved getting to the secret teleporter! I have to go play this again right now! :D

  • This game was my drug!

  • I don't understand the point of the guy yelling "MEDIC" when you can see guts spilling out from a hole in his gut.

  • @Causalspark It's the future! You'd be surprised what doctors can pull off!

  • This game was sooo badass when I was little!

  • I wanna play it somebody know how you can play this on a vista or a OS X snow LEopard?

  • Wordboy: Lexicioian Agent By PBS kidsGO!

  • I played this game when I was 4 years old!

  • "INTRUDER" "MEDIC" Whats an intruder medic? That whats sound like a Sector Patrolman says when he sees you and dies.

  • Oh my god! Flashbacks!!! I remember this game so distinctly!!!!!!!

    I loved it!

I even remember the last level and everything! OMG!

  • Is DOSBox safe? Like, it's not gonna fuck up my vista laptop or anything right?

  • @zildjian1234567890

Yes, it's open source so 100% spyware and virus free and can be removed like any other application.

  • @constancenoring - Completely unrelated to the comment I am replying to, but why do you go the hard way to get the machine gun and bazooka? There is a fair easier way where you get the bazooka first and then you easily waste the green guys. Just wondering...

  • @doomsd46 True, in veteran there are 5 S. Troopers inside that secret room, and before I found the other way I tried killing them with my RAW. What a nightmare ! lulz

Does he say "Adieu !" when he falls ?

  • @zildjian1234567890

    "Facepalm."

  • I used to turn off the energy fields then turn them back on thus zapping the monsters!!! Manys an hour played on this!

  • You are awesome for doing this. Aliens of Gold and Planet Strike are two seriously underrated games.

  • "NO!" I love that!

I used to shoot everyone, because I liked to hear them die... as screwed up as that sounds... it was funny back then, and it's funny now.

I was... 6? 7? when I first played this. Back in the day... this was futuristic, and as advanced as Wolfenstien 3D, and I thought 'games can't get any better than this'.

    How wrong I was.

I truly believe that they should remake the Wolfenstiens, and Blake Stones, and other great games of the past.

  • this is just the futuristic version of Wolfenstein 3d...

  • This game was three degrees of dope.

  • never really liked this game, got old quickly among a million wolf3d clones.

  • WTF is that DOS? I havent seen that since I was like 5. Lol My Mother used to play Blake Stone and Duke Nukem.

  • intro music ftw

  • Strange... Wouldn't all the running increase the heart rate, too?

  • me too thenchi

  • when i was a kid, i was afraid of the high energy plasma alien, because there was a hall, where they came from 2 directions, and no mather how many you killed, new ones were coming. good times :) nice vid

  • haha, nice to know I'm not alone with the whole tapping the space bar along the walls looking for secrets.

  • NO!!!!!!! lol

  • That intro music is AWESOME!!!!!

  • 1:03 lol fail

  • hell yeah I remember playing this back in the day! unfortunately all I played was the shareware version. anyone know where I can download the whole thing?

  • "MEDIC"

    Epic game

  • Brofist, can you tell me what program you're using to record this, and what your cpu cycles etc are on dosbox?

  • Apogee kicked some serious ass.

  • OMG i can't belive ppl still play this game it was awesome fun and funny as lolz sick i want it again

  • Wolfenstein3D engine ftw

    :D

  • so many good memories

  • X-com death noises

  • shhh

  • What if people are having trouble on good ol beginner?

  • Beginner is not difficult enough, still. It's hard that hurts, especially against STAR troopers, when you have no plasma discharger.

  • fuck me this brings back memories....

  • Never mind... I found a way to curtail the slow pace... during the game play, press CTRL+F12 several times to give you the desired speed.

  • what programme are you using to emulate the game?

  • This game was awesome, I used to play it all the time when I was a little kid. All the different alien enemies really gave the game some variety.

  • awesome

  • I love this game, where did you get it?

  • Man, this was a sweet game back in the day. My favorite enemies were the green "STOP!" guys.

  • DOSBOX!!!! XD

  • Hey Blake take my food token

  • no one remembers the cheat code? JAM +enter

  • Brings back lots of good memories. Thanks for posting this.

  • This game is classic! Except I can't play it on my laptop. Two reasons; I have Windows Vista and I'm not exactly sure how to play it and I don't have a Sound Blaster so my music doesn't play. GREAT game though! :D

  • You could use DOSBox though. Or you could use VDMSound to emulate the old soundblaster cards.

  • I like when informants go NOOOOOOOOO.

  • me too

i decompiled the sounds file and resampled all of the sound effects to wav format xD

  • Hey there, there's an alien thin in this that makes a freaky sound, strange request I know, but any chance anyone knows how I can get hold of a rip of that sound?

  • It's the one at 2:20!

  • And there's also two at 7:20.

  • You could record them yourself using a program like Audacity.

  • Ah could Audacity do that?

I don't have the game though unfortunately.

    Thanks.

  • yep xD

i can get the sounds for you xD

  • Well I had to rip it from somewhere else now, but how can you get it? Thanks.

  • VSWAP.BS6 <--- open with goldwave with these paramaters.

    7333Hz 8Bit Mono Unsigned

    and then Bingo xD

  • Uhhh excuse me if i'm being backwards here but I don't quite understand??

  • by opening that file i can play the sounds and copy them to new files and save them in .wav format.

  • OH, is that one of the game files? I don't have the game anymore. I just had it once on an old PC cause it was already on there.

  • yep thats the audio data file.

  • Oh right, yeah, I don't own the game anymore unfortunately.

  • Can you get me one too please? Just either personal message me in my channel or become my friend and do that so I can give you my email address. ^_~

  • Hey constancenoring, you missed a secret area.

Push one of the walls on the bottom left near where you started.

    You'll find a plasma sphere.

  • Good times. Apogee were the shit back in the day.

  • Ah, the amount of hours I wasted on this game!

I remember that on Veteran Agent, this game is insanely hard; meeting those Star Troopers around the 5 minute mark would have meant instant death then.

Nice videos, keep up the good work!

  • i have this game on a cd but it broke so can you tell me where i can download this game

  • limewire

  • is it still possible to download this game?

  • The Shareware version of this game is still avavilable for download.

  • really, do u know if will it work right away or will I need to dl a bunch of other programs too

  • Download DOSBox.

  • sweet thx man

  • You know, I think you may have a missed a secret passage.

  • Man, I remember this game. Some of Blake Stone's secret rooms were insane!
