If you ever have the time, it'd be great if you could do another vid of this patch without the reverb so we can hear the dry overdriven tone more clearly. In any event, good job!
@motleycrue24 Very cool. Bitchin is human nature and it is perfect to want more. I want more!. trust me. Im my biggest critic. No one improves by not assessing ones faults. Problem is, what a persons faults? It is difficult to document. Id love to meet Eddie one day. But, thats a dream. He is a god in my eyes
@motleycrue24 I'd try the BLUES distortion setting with full drive. I'd crank the tone. Then I'd adjust the EQ with full bass, treble and slightly scooped mid's, depending on how much mid/treblle comes from the BLUES distortion. You are looking for a crunch between grunge and metal. I'd use the chorus with rare=0 depth=10 and level=1..5 I'd use the delay on about 100-200ms depending on what im playing. I'd also try extreme settings. Great sounds come from settings most people dont try.
Sounds frikkin killer!!!! Sounds better than Eddie did so many times on stage. Sick of idiots saying "That;s not right." Frikkin Eddie couldn't get it right either. Some know that the sound Eddie got on I an II were largely due to Eddie Kramers recording techniques. It drove Eddie nuts on tour because he couldn't nail the sound either. Just ask David.
@1971SuperLead Cool. Yea, considering a BOSS ME50 can be bought for around $250 (AU), its a pretty cool toy. My Eppiphone SG custom has a sloppy neck, so it might sound better with a tigher neck. It also sounds far better in context. ie: With some drums and bass. I would also try VST software reverb and chorus inplace of the ME50's effects. Eddie rocks in my books. Wish he would get over his issues and write music again.
@EpiphoneGear I think the ME-50 is a killer piece of equipment. I got mine for $180 used and I always use it and, I've got so many effects that I could use anything. I see you turn the compressor level all the way up too. I do the same thing to get Eddie's sound. I don't use the BD-2 however. I like the Lead OD and I set the gain to 5. Lately, I'm into the MXR dist + on the ME-50. Check out my videos I made today for the tone.
@bailey32121 They are in the video description. It sounds better in a mix with bass and drums. I have a new plexi tone which Ive been working which I will upload soon-ish. It sounds a little tighter than this tone.
@bokkekop Thanks mate. Unfortunately the ME50 doesn't have a USB port, so you need to dial in tones manually. And, the ME50 doesn't show the setting when you turn a knob, so its even harder to enter in tones. Other BOSS ME's show the value of a knob when you turn it (in the LED display), so, im unsure what happen to the 50. O, well. Bugger. Im sure they fixed it for newer models
A tad too much reverb IMO, and yes theres always going to be something missing if youre trying to get the true brown sound through an ME-50, because its an ME-50.
I'll look into it. Its probably more the guitar. My Musicman EVH has less bass and more trebble. The Epiphone Custom is a very bassy guitar which I prefer. Could be the strings too. They are crusty as. Also the PC input is crap. The Tascam US122 sounds better. A little compression would control the bass thumping in a mix
Sounds like my tone has more "woof", bass and fuzz grunge in it. Which makes it sound a little sloppy. I think its the guitar, or how its setup. I love over the top bass though my amp, so I set my guitar up to be "floppy". ie: the neck is completely loose. The body vibrates more and you get more bass. When you play live its sounds like the second coming, although, its a little, "un shaven". if you know what I mean.

Dude you rock my socks off.
You say you uploaded this sound. Does that mean there's a way of downloading presets like these to my Boss?
Keep it up! Great work.

lots of fuzziness to it. its a good tone but no brown sound/ van halen 1 tone. the bass is too smooth..not much edge or crunchiness to it.

@junkerde
Thanks for the comments. Yes, it is missing something. Somethings work. Others dont. Anyway, the tone is on the table.

Cool thanks. I think you have a closer style to Ed's. I might have to nick some licks of ya.
O, and I might have to look into the POD XT. Sounds very cool.
