  • Looks kinda gross. Plus an egg is not an egg without the yolk!!! Yolk has lots of good fats in it and is tasty!

    hands clean about the same speed as a spoon or knife. however you don't have to dirty a sponge or use hot water to clean a hand.

    you would have a pan and a plate. this case it is a bowl and a plate.

    as stated above the bowl is quicker to clean.

    of course the main point of the video is cooking an egg for people that cannot eat yolks.

  • @Jemeela :) Understood! I actually bought a little plastic container for cooking eggs in the microwave. You crack the eggs, cook them on high for 50 seconds in the container and done :)

  • The whites are the fat-free while the yellow (yolk) contains a lot of fat. Also, this is mainly for the people trying to stay healthly and lose weight. I need to GAIN weight, not lose it.

  • Ahm... 4 dirty bowls, tons of time wasted on seprating yolk and white and buttering the bowl and voila you get a plain testing white only eggs? Yolk is the best part of an egg!!!

    Yolk has only 4-5 g of fat which is absolutelly needed in order to make use of fat solutable vitamins (like A,D,E). Super fast? NO! And consider how many bowls and plates you need to clear after.

  • The yoke is pure protein there's nothing wrong with it. It's the best part of the egg

  • most of the protein is in the white. most of the fat and cholesterol is in the yolk

  • That wasn't very fast. It's easier just to crack an egg over a skillet (Yolk or no yolk), and fry it up. You don't even need to add oil, although if you do, you need an amount that's no less healthful than what amount of butter you lined the bowl with.

  • The yolk and oil is far more fattening than flora butter.

    I did say you don't have to add butter to the bowl.

    It does take longer to heat the pan and fry the egg.

    Adding an additional garnish will also increase the time, however it would still be faster than frying.

  • You don't need a yolk or oil to cook it in a skillet.

    I don't know how you fry eggs, but it takes me three minutes tops. Including the prep time.

  • I know how to do it with the yolk...

    All you do is carefully crack open an egg and lay it on a plate, poke through the yolk with a toothpick(prevents from exploding), season with spices of your choice, do like for like 20 seconds or so in a 800W microwave and you're done! Perfectly cooked, sometimes if you are lucky and get the timing right, you get even have a runny yolk..

  • Mama Jemeela, okay you know I love your cookery tips, but can I say that your super fast egg takes 55 seconds in the microwave but around 3-4 minutes to prepare the eggs first.   • it's the same texture as a fried egg. there is not really any difference aside from it's not crispy at the bottom.  if you can hold it up than it is cooked, because eggs are liquid.

  • But you can drink a raw egg. Many athletes do that, and they represent health not disease. You can eat a half cooked egg it doesn't taste as nice though.

  • For scrambled, all you do is chop it up, and possibly cook a bit less. And this works just fine with the yolk, and tastes better too.

  • you can use it for egg fried rice, cakes and baking, and you can freeze it. you don't have to remove the yolk, only if you want to. :)

  • my microwave is 750 watts. so you will have to leave your in for a bit longer. just keep checking it, every 10 seconds. if it is raw than put it in for another 10 seconds :)

  • Try an egg Microwaved on a piece of bread smashed in the center with a little butter on the bread then add egg. Microwacve it about 1 minute. Brekast is ready.

  • you will have a mushy mixture of bread and raw egg. the bread needs direct heat to 'toast'.
