I really agree with the scratchs and cases! I hate my iPhone with sensative plastic on it I really liked the original iPhones design is more durable than plastic, and plastic on a phone makes it sound cheap . But I can't wit till the 4th gen comes out, I might get it if it's a good upgrade, I have a 3G S 16gb black n got it in july, and on the first week I dropped it on cement and on the bottom it has dented chopped plastic which annoys me.

the back cover of the iphone 3g/s is a fingerprint and scratch magnet if you don't use a guard/case/sleeve.

they could also make it thinner. at least as thin as the e72.

what would be great is if they could find a way for the iphone to be used with one hand while composing messages.

The video calling features you talked about are aviable in Europe, you can see eachother and switch to the main camera. But it's really, really expensive, with my contract, it costs about 1€ a minute I think. But it's aviable for all operators, atleast in Sweden.

Too bad I've heard Apple is going to make indicators (for water) EVEN MORE capable to sense damage (like hitting your phone into concrete or something hard). They suck as they might get triggered in normal conditions like humidity as you said :( . Unibody idea sounds good if you could use whole body as antenna so it would work even better... @michael: i agree with a bigger battery, 5mp camera and some form of flash (led or xenon). don't forget HD recording (480p or 720p)... the screen's resolution is ok, and oled might not be so hot outdoors in the sunlight. the current iphone screen works great outside.

i really don't have many issues with the 3GS. I wish they made a 64GB iPhone, increase the camera, and fix some of the gliches. My iphone constantly freezes (unjailbroken) and i have to re plug it into my computer. that may just be becasue it was a new computer and it was originally synced with my old one. But they should keep it's current design in my opinion

I would have also added to your list (don't think you mentioned it) the ability to multi task with apps and run them in the background. Personally I don't see Apple Adding Aluminum to their phones (unibody). The reason the original iPhone couldn't do 3g and had a bad connection was because of the Aluminum Backing, I think Apple Might still keep the back plastic, just a different style and a protective layer against scratches- PSPfano
