  • I Can't Express In Words What Cyndi's Music, Songs And Voice Does To Me. It's A PLace Deep With In, Where No One But Only Cyndi Lauper Lives. Where She Has Lived Since The Day I First Heard Her Voice Way Back When I Was In High School.

  • a very impressive range !! "backin the day" I was one of the few who had Blue Angel's album, and I agree it was evident that she would go on to greater things -- voices like that don't grow on trees !!

  • Ok I have come to the conclusion that this is the best female version of this classic song by Gene.

  • This version has grown on me. Pitney's will never have competition, but I must admit Cindy does a knock down, dragged out, version in her own style and it's magnificent.

  • @Tonithenightowl ...You're not wrong there !!

  • @SpotNFlo She still has a great voice 25 yrs later. Always liked her, always thought she sang from her soul. However this song will always belong to Gene Pitney. But he would approve of Cindy's rendition.

  • I Love Her Voice Then Now And Always!!! Your Truley A Talented Singer. I Listen To You Alot. Love Ya!

  • So unique and so amazing.. Cyndi you are great

  • Wow. I love how she sings this. I never heard of it before now and Cindy does this beautifully. I love it and how much emotion she puts into it. Perfect.

  • After twenty years, still the best song ever!

  • Cyndi Lauper foreber. A true artis... I have nothing but love for her and her music... She is one of the kind!!!

  • hahaha! Her actions and looks on her face! So unique and so Cyndi. :)

  • Love the shtick lying on top of the baby grand. Her moves and facial expressions are so unique you can see she was destined for solo career.

  • omg I love Cyndi Lauper!!!<3

I love this song and her expression at the end shows that she was so into the song, and makes for a great ending moment.

Cool Random Fact:This actually wasn't live, Aside from the fact that Cyndi Lauper said she never sang live with Blue Angel you will notice that starting at 1:40 the strap on her top changes position every new camra angle, it's cool!!

    I love ya'Cyndi!!!:)

  • SWELL!

  • Cyndi is amazing n she will always be around, she has one of the best voices in the world.

  • What a voice!! wow!

  • really really cool *-*'

  • This was the Behind the Music clip I talked about on another board! I' as looking for this for 7 years! I wish I could have been in that store with you facelesshorseman. That must've been something.

  • Darn tootin it was!

  • 1980, it was evident right here that she was destine to accomplish so much more (solo) than Blue Angel ever would have become. Hitting those notes in the final verse, is the benchmark others can only look up to. Outstanding!!!

  • beg to differ. If the band had gotten a break they could have been huge. Rockabilly was on the rise and Blue Angel show cased her voice. Cyndi was a sensation with her first solo album due to the video on MTV. Great bands with promise get lost along the way and never achieve greatness.

  • Ya podrìa aprender Madonna de ella, sin samples ni hostias

  • madonna my ass!!!!!!!! madonna sucks and cyndi rocks madonna is not a singer she is not a real artist ,... cyndi is a real artist .. madonna has to learn mroe about the real meaning of music ...and singing .. she is amazing but opening her legs CYNDI IS FANTASTIC INSTEAD

  • If you are referring to the remark in spanish, made by pistonudo1: he says the same thing. He says that Madonna could learn a thing or two from Cindy.

  • what year is this?

  • Around 1980.

  • I have been looking for this for 20 years.Thank you! What a voice!

  • I used to have the album.

It was great, and I lost the thing!!!..arghhhh!

  • Can i just say when I hear this song i jizz in my pants that is all....

  • A great LP, with the worst cover of all time.

Whenever I played this cut in the record store where I worked, the whole place would come to a standstill when she hit that final note.

Due to legal problems it was about 2 years before we heard from her again. A friend of mine saw her singing in a piano bar in NY city during her little break.

Produced by a giant in the industry, Roy Halee. Look him up.

  • I own said LP. Bought it in 81 or 82 (used) after reading a review of it someplace. Nothing wrong with that cover. Two cute pics of Cyndi plus some useful info. Great songs. Great band. Great album. Not sure what went wrong after that. Cyndi probably would have gone solo with all her personality anyway, but I would have loved to have 3 or 4 more Blue Angel albums first.

  • Beautiful just beautiful. Oh it was also AWESOME!! I love Cyndi so much!

  • Simply amazing, unique. A captured " Great moment in time"

  • ¡Tiene la voz mas linda del mundo!

  • Sweet mother of carrots!!!!!!!!!!!!!She nearly blew me straight clear into Texas

  • A lot of energy! VERY CHARISMA that great WOMAN!!!

  • agree...very talented. The only thing i was saying on the other video is that i didnt like her version of True colors because ive heard a lot of other singers, sing it better.

  • I understand what your saying, but i think it's probably best to say you "prefer" their versions rather than to say that others have performed it better. Listen, there are definitely lauper songs i think were bad (like her cover of What's Going On, ugh). But her performance of True Colors there, as many of the comments indicated (including people that weren't major fans) was very powerful and startling FOR IT's STYLE. I understand that you may not appreciate that style though.

  • HOW does she hit those HIGH notes?! WHAT a voice! And it's true, she IS better live than recorded!

  • that's what a 4 octave-range vocalist can do!

  • this gave me goosebumps! what power and emotion.

    always loved her.

  • Her best cover song ever!

  • I could be wrong - but I don't think it's a cover.

  • it was..Gene Pitney sang it..although both versions are great..different..Cyndi knocks it out of the park..

  • Her face before she goes for the final note is marvellous to behold.

Saw her live about 20 years ago and she was fantastic. She's an even better singer live than recorded, so much power and apparently so little effort. She's hilarious, too.

  • Good!! Very Good!! Woow!!!

  • John Morelli rocks!

  • there's 2 dudes playing guitar but i don't hear much rockin! it's nice though.

  • I remember seeing this video on the late night video program "Rock World" in 1980. This is better then her solo stuff no disrespect at all to her solo stuff.

  • Always loved this version Cyndi rocks

  • Always loved this version Cyndi rocks

  • Amazing talent!! One of the great singers of our time!

  • Legend?......I'd say she sounds even better now!.....she's beyond a legend. She's in some other stratosphere or something......just gives me chills. :)

Then you add on that she's just a great person to boot.......just fabulous.

  • She is a legend - very underrated. Not many people can sing as good as Cyndi when she sings live.

  • Ya lo sabiamos 99 , no quita para que sea una historia de amor maravillosa , te quiero a morir.86

  • dear cindy. i saw her and blue angel opening for the ramones at seton hall university. blue angel was rocking and fine, and cindy shone very brightly, with an amazing throat. great ending here. kisses

  • Essential + Important !

  • I have the blue angel album... probably warped by now.

  • I really just wanted to make a general comment.

The Blue Angel album was re-realeased a couple of years ago and I was able to purchase it through Hippo Records.

This and an a album by Pearl Harbour were constant played by me pretty much from 1985-1989 when my cassette deck and only copy of this album were stolen.

  • fuck yeaaa the bass player for this band is my teacher go lee borvitz

  • She's so amazing.

  • wow what a voice

  • She really sings very well

  • Remember this from the great Gene Pitney. Cindy makes a fantastic cover

  • lovely!!!but i do like the ending too !!! I feel very magnified!

  • I've had this Blue Angel cassette for about 20 years and I have always loved this song. I'd love to see this song pop up on American Idol and give it a whole new life.

  • I've got Blue Angel's cassette too, but it's got a little surface noise. BTW, did Cyndi ever reform Blue Angel?

  • she with them at one show in 1987, but they were going under another name. i don't know if they did old songs or what. awhile back, people were trying to get them on vh1s band reunited, but it never happened

they're an excellent band. saw them in 79, and it truly was "a night to remember"!

  • I love this version of the Song, with its powerful ending.
