Nice video.

But I think I prefer Orbiter Space Simulator. Its free and I dont have to put up with the glitches and jerkiness of FSX Sure Orbiter graphics are pretty basic on earth ground textures, but its pretty realistic in space flight.

Horribly inaccurate. No roll program? SRB's separate at 150,000 feet, not 90,000 feet. Also, at MECO, you're parallel to the ground, not 90°.

@airjamin8tor - True, Orbiter has a steep learning curve, although more MFDs exist to compute interplanetary trajectories now etc. I still like 'flying' the Vespucci D, even though it is not compatible with Orbiter 2010. It seems that complex collision detection will be one of the next built in features (Orulex style). However i've been wanting Interstellar travel possible for years.. & Martin has hinted at it. :-). I had the privilege of going out for a beer with him once, he's in London.

Fail, not true at all. This shuttle was at 90k feet and still vertical, while in reality you need to be at 60 deg pitch at 60k feet and at 120k feet you need to have almost zero pitch to even reach orbit.

You don't gain orbit by going high up vertically. You gain it by popping above most of atmosphere and gaining orbital tangential velocity.

If Micro$oft did this sim so it alows you to reach orbit by going up at 90 deg, then it's total fail.

Whoever put this together paid attention to quality. They didn't do anything

half-assed. Every inch of that ship was included even outside the cockpit. Even Microsoft didn't do that.

One question. If control surfaces don't work in space how did you turn the shuttle right side up for landing? Was it was in orbit it was upside down.

This simulation is wrong, you can reach orbit going straight up like that, you need to go on a 35 degree angle in order to get orbtital speed, if you shoot like that you'll go back down like a ton of bricks. I use Orbiter, the real Shuttle simulator.
